Pokemon being used/link: MarsArchive: xxxPrompt:2. Has your pokemon ever encountered a legendary? what was this like and how did it impact them?
Riley has always preached to his team that if anyone were to encounter a Legendary Pokemon, not only should it be considered as a sign, but it should also be a moment that you carry for the rest of your life. As the one who helped get Riley's team up and running by being the first member, Mars feels like he should follow what his leader says, except, several Pokemon in the team have encountered a Legendary Pokemon and are able to talk about their encounters. Except for Mars.
Of course, Mars doesn't directly tell anyone that he hasn't seen a Legendary yet. It's his actions that speak rather than words itself. When the team is gathered around telling stories about their encounters, Mars is one of the Pokemon that is silent during all the stories, only chiming in with small comments to help move the story along and perhaps give the storyteller more to go off of with questions and such.
For some reason, Mars finds it quiet embarrassing that he has yet to have his so called 'fateful' encounter with a Legendary Pokemon. Of course he's still on the younger side, but many of the stories within the team consist of Pokemon that were on the younger side when they first encountered their Legendary. And many of them think that encounter was necessary to become the Pokemon that they are today.
Although Mars is embarrassed about not meeting a Legendary and might give of signals that he doesn't believe in what Riley tries to portray to the clan, he knows that one day, he will encounter a Legendary just has many of those in the team, and when he does eventually have this encounter, he knows that he will treasure it all the same, just as those within the team.
As of now, Mars still has to sit back and listen to the stories of his peers. But someday, he will get his fateful encounter and will be able to chime in with what his encounter was like.
[340]3. What was your pokemons life like before joining the team?
Prior to joining Riley's team, Mars was a loner. He admits this every time someone from the team asks him this very question. Mars used to despise being around others as he thought that they'd eventually just throw him out and stop caring about him. Despite carrying the personality traits that a Growlithe is known for (an immense amount of loyalty to those they care about and very protective), this was all thrown out the window because of those in his past, who treated him like something very much less than a friend. Of course, at the time, Mars still thought it was worth it to make an attempt to be their friend. It wasn't until they cut him out of the group completely for him to realize what he truly meant to them.
It was that friend group that left Mars damaged, sticking to only himself for a long time until he met Riley one day when he was walking in the woods, going nowhere in particular. From the moment he met Riley in the woods that day, Mars could tell that he was equally as troubled as he was. But with Riley, he was stuck with what he wanted to do in life. He had no idea where life was taking him and if he wanted to follow this path. In reality, Riley wanted to go on adventures and explore the world, but he also wanted to do this with allies behind him. Friends behind him.
Mars cringed at the thought of a group of friends. But he was the one who decided to sit down and have a talk with Riley. Who was he to deny him the advice, even with his old friends ditching him in the past. He had someone in front of him who was determined to be different and do something special in his life. That's when Mars told Riley that he had an idea for him. He could make a Pokemon Team, full of those that wanted adventure just like him. They could travel the region, looking for treasure, training themselves to be better, and overall having fun.
The answer on Riley's face said everything. Mars had helped him come up with what he wanted to do in life. It was then where Mars stood up, gave a curt nod to the Riolu, and began to walk away. But almost immediately, the Riolu jumped in front of him with a big smile on his face, extending a hand to him. He remembers Riley's words almost as the scene happened yesterday.
"Where are you going?"
"Away." Mars replied in a grumpy tone.
"Why?"
"No one has given me any reason to stay in the past, so I stick to myself." Mars' tone was icy this time, and he could tell it surprised the Riolu. But it also made him even more determined, as the Riolu placed his hands on his hips and smiled.
"Well, if you haven't noticed, I'm not like most Pokemon! Therefore...." He pointed directly at Mars. "I'm making you this offer. I'm going to create a Pokemon Team right here right now. And you're going to be my very first member! I'll show you that you're good and worth being around. So what do you say? Will you join me and give me a chance?"
Mars remembers that he was hesitant accepting Riley's offer to join the team at first. But within a few moments, the Growlithe held out his paw to Riley's and shook it as if they were making some sort of business deal.
It was then that Mars realized he had a true friend that day. The day when he joined the team after living a life of loneliness when all he wanted was company all of this time. Riley changed that for him. And Mars can't thank him enough, even to this day.
[467]5. What is your Pokémons personality?
Mars has the stereotypical personality traits that most Growlithe's are expected to have. They're brave, not giving a care in the world if the opponent that they are up against is bigger and stronger looking than them. They'll put up a fight just the same. Not only that, but Growlithe's are also trustworthy and loyal, having their companions back no matter what. This is probably the more well known trait and what makes a Growlithe, well, a Growlithe.
Those within the team would agree that Mars fits these traits to a T. He is small but fierce, always willing to put up a fight if need be. And when it comes to those that he loves, Mars would do anything for them. He always has their back and would never to do anything to ruin the established trust between them. He wants the team to be able to come to him for issues and know that they have a friend that cares for them immensely, and that if need be, he would fight for them.
But of course, those traits don't solely define who Mars is as a Pokemon. After spending time with Mars, one will come to find that he is a complete goofball, cracking jokes all the time. If he gets the opportunity to make a joke, you better watch out, because he will take that window of opportunity without a doubt. But this is only if you get to know him.
For newcomers within the team, Mars will seem quite reserved and wary. But this is just until he decides whether or not he can trust them. This is something that proves to be a quick process, as many of the Pokemon that join the team go through Riley first, and Riley makes sure to bring in trustworthy Pokemon to begin with. Mars almost acts as the last barrier, trying to see if Riley missed anything. If a newcomer passes Mars' 'inspection' of sorts, then they're home free and accepted in the team without a doubt. Which also means they get to experience Mars' bubbling personality. His bravery, loyalty, and goofiness, all in one small Pokemon.

Pokemon being used/link: BasilArchive: xxxPrompt:1. Show me/describe this pokemon doing their favorite move! How did they learn it and why is it their favorite?
It was early morning, the sun was just beginning to rise, and Basil was out and about by himself. Today he decided that he wanted to get up bright and early so he could get in some practice with some of his moves. He was hoping that he would be able to increase his accuracy by getting a little extra practice in, but in all, he just wanted to see how far he has come ever since he joined the team.
Pokemon within the team battled all the time. There was never a day without a battle, and Basil had experienced a good eighty percent of them. Some were long lived battles, while others were short, as the opponents were outmatched. But they tried their hand at a battle anyway, even if it meant they were walking into a quick defeat. It was the joy of being a team. Everyone was there for each other and everyone was willing to help one another grow to be the best they could be.
For Basil though, he found that he was good on the sidelines. Observing taught him a lot, which is why he attended almost every battle. He was a visual learner. And then after each battle, Basil would take what he learned and apply it to the little 'punching bag' he had made for himself for the very reason of practice. In order to make the punching bag, he filled it with soft things like leaves and grass, and then covered it with several layers of webbing, using the move string shot.
It was such a simple move that Basil didn't use much when it came to practice. He was commonly found using physical moves such as tackle and poison sting.
As Basil continued to draw nearer toward his practice place, he decided that he might want a break after practicing, therefore he found a perfect spot right between a few trees and aimed to land a string shot on both ends. Once he had string attached to both sides of the trees, he used string shot on the middle, making a little hammock for himself to rest comfortably in after he was done.
After making the hammock, Basil continued on toward his training area where his makeshift punching bag was to get a start for the day. As he travelled, however, a thought came to his brain. With the webbing string shot contained, Basil found himself using it a lot for recreational use, such as a few moments ago with the hammock and then during the time he made his punching bag. It was then when a smile appeared across his face. Although string shot wasn't a move he used in battle, it was still a fun move to use regardless. It could be used for just about anything. It was that thought that caused Basil to realize that his favorite move to use, wasn't even used in battle. In fact, it was used for everything else other than battling.
And perhaps that's why it became his favorite move to use. You could do more with it other than battling.
[521]3. What was your pokemons life like before joining the team?
To say the least, Wurmple's are tiny. It makes the species an easy target for bird Pokemon, which tend to be common natural enemies. Because of this fact, most Wurmple live in fear. At any moment, a bird Pokemon trying to play some sick joke could swoop down and pick them up using their talons. Basil was one of the many Wurmple's that lived in fear of bird Pokemon, thinking of all of them as bad, even if he hadn't encountered one before. If it looked like a bird, then it was automatically bad. This fear drove Basil to hide for a majority of his life before joining Riley's Pokemon team.
Basil found that he couldn't go out in open areas and that he had to stay in large forests, where trees could block him from view of potential enemies looking to have a go at the weakling that they thought he was. After all, it was also a known fact that many Wurmple didn't have good attacking moves compared to others. The most they had was a simple tackle and poison sting, but that could only get them so far depending on what the bird Pokemon was and what level it was. If Basil was significantly under levelled, then the damage dealt on said opponent would be little to none. So that's why he lived in large forests where the trees could block him from view.
There were also several times where Basil was found lost in thought, pondering about what life he could have if he didn't have to live in fear. Or better yet, he thought about life as a different species of Pokemon completely. Sometimes he found himself wishing that he hadn't hatched as a Wurmple, but as something else entirely, like a Groudon. Large and strong, living without fear of any opponents that may cross its path. But sadly enough for Basil, this couldn't change.
For many months, Basil had his same routine day after day. Waking up, making his way out of the tree he called his home, looking for any danger that might be present if he were to leave his home, climbing down the tree to get food for the day, stopping to look for danger every so often, finally making his way to a bush where he would take berries, and then repeat this entire process returning home with the berries he found.
Then, Basil met Riley. And all of the sudden, Basil didn't feel weak anymore. The day he met Riley, he had actually hid from him, thinking that he was an enemy going to hurt him. But he would soon learn that hurting others wasn't in the vocabulary of the Riolu. Instead, he was going around trying to find Pokemon that wanted to travel the world and go on adventures. This excited Basil more than anything. The thought of not living in fear. The thought of being elsewhere aside the tree that he called his home. Everything Riley offered him was apart of who he truly wanted to be. He wanted to not only not live in fear, but be stronger. He wanted to prove to others that even though he was small, he could do just as much as they could. So that day, Basil accepted Riley's offer to join his team. From then on out, Basil put himself right to work, trying to reform himself.
At first, it was a difficult process. There were many Pokemon of all shapes and sizes. Many he hadn't seen before. Many scary looking Pokemon. But then he thought about why Riley had asked him to join his team. It was then that Basil knew that not every Pokemon larger than him was bad. They were all here for the same reason. They had a sense of adventure, and being apart of a team fulfilled that very sense that they all sought after.
So the first day joining the team, Basil knew he was right where he needed to be.
Basil knew that everything was going to be alright and that he didn't have to live in fear any longer.
He may be tiny, but he knew that he would be mighty.
