the first appearance of her power was shrugged off as nothing but a nightmare. She had been so young at the time and had woken from her sleep in terror. She had just dozed off when she heard whispers. She blinked open her eyes and it was as though someone was whispering in her ear, horrible things. her body became so cold as though the energy was being sucked from her very veins. After several terrifying moments the voices faded. Her coat was soaked in sweat and she was trembling. Spook scrunched her eyes shut once more "what a horrible dream" she had squeaked. Above a dark figure flapped across the night sky, a caw escaping its blunt beak as it disappeared into the distance. The raven, a messenger of the dead.
The next time was far more terrifying. Spook was watching Noodle quietly several days after the nightmare had shaken the youngster. Her mind was drifting back to it now and she closed her eyes in an attempt to shove the thoughts from her mind. When she opened her eyes an apparition stood before her. its hollow eyes were backed by nothing but a wisp of smoke so thin as a vail for a body. Spook felt the stirring and the instant suckling of her energy. She felt fatigue creep into her skull as the apparition drew on her energies in order to be seen. "help me" the words were like the snapping of twigs in the middle of the night and then it was gone. Spook felt her eyes slid shut as the last ounce of energy was ripped from her body and she fell into sleep.
It is not a usable power but Spook has come to realize that she is a magnet for the supernatural. The emergence of her power is completely spontaneous and she has no control over it. Some times it powers up in the middle of the night and suddenly she has spirits hovering over her while she is trying to sleep.

Spook is a small bundle of energies, yes I said energies. Spook is very sensitive to vibes and energies around her, she picks up on the attitudes and moods of others and they affect her own person. She possesses a very strong intuition and a spiritual side that would cause some to doubt her sanity at the best of times. Spook claims she can feel pressences that most others don’t, Im talking the paranormal sorts. Although she claims this she does not openly flaunt what she considers to be both a curse and a blessing. In her words “They share their secrets with me because I will listen, but its not my job to listen for everyone else”.

Spook is a very complete individual, she does not feel the need for companionship since she hardly ever feels alone and finds that the living are far less interesting then the dead. She is not the friendliest and often seems like she if just plain fed up with everyone and everything. Spook is very carefree and open hearted; she fears little and is always up for adventure. However, Spook is plagued by unwanted presences, the ghost magnent of the floating islands. No matter where she goes or what she does they always seem to come to find her when her power sparks up and need to be near her, and her abuillity to feel them there makes it so that she always feels like someone is standing there watching her this makes her extremely paranoid and anxious, she is always jumpy and on edge this makes her seem odd to those who don’t know her well.

Spook shows mild indifference towards her father. Though she undeniably loves him she chooses to resent him as an authoritarian figure. She knows she should listen to him when he tries to tell her what to do but at the same time feels a very powerful need to defy what he says. Its just a faze everyone says but is it really? despite all that Spook has a heightened respect for or dear old dad because he gave up his former life to care for her and her brother. She feels bad when she gives him the cold shoulder but doesn't really know why she acts in this way towards him.
These two don't really get a whole lot of father daughter time since Spook avoids the idea of that, she likes being alone, Especially since her power has sparked up. She likes to spend time on her own trying to learn how to control this "thing" that she has and any sort of interruptions, even if it is just her dad really seem to get on her nerves so poor Ryder may feel some what disconnected from her but in all honesty she has disconnected herself from everyone!.

Image
Noodle is honestly Spook's only escape! She loves her brother and feels that she needs to take care of him and watch his back for him. Noodle is; In Spook's mind; the greatest person to talk to. She shares all her secrets with him and finds comfort in his presence. She is extremely protective of her brother and has no interest in those who treat him poorly unless it is to kick their butts for it. No one messes with Noodle and gets away with it! Spook will always make sure of that.
When Noodle began expressing his own type of magic Spook was so mesmerized by it and wanted to know more about it but she quickly realized how out of control it was! She was somewhat jealous and yet somewhat wary for her brother. That was until she had her first encounter with what her magic attracted! Those scary apparitions!!! She had for once been relieved that Noodle could not see because she wouldn't want him to have been frightened of what she was capable of. She told Noodle all about it and is literally only person she sleeks openly to about such things.

ԲષƬષ૨૯ ѳ૮૮ષραƬiѳท:
After Spook eventually accepts that there is no escaping those trapped in our world she will begin to embrace her ‘gift’. Although she will never be able to find out how to turn it on or off she will come to grow used to the random entrances of the paranormal into her daily life. When she gets older she will hear about a museum that specializes in the housing and preservation of haunted items. Upon visiting the museum she witnesses a wedding dress dancing along a hallway with no one in it. Spook speaks with the curator of the museum and discovers that the Night watchman recently was frightened so bad that he quit leaving a position open. How fortunate…
So naturally this adventurous girl jumps at the chance to spend so much time with those of the dead since she becomes increasingly obsessed with wanting to understand them and find out what they want from her. Spook spends her nights (since she doesn’t sleep) keeping company with some of the most frightening and vengeful spirits or the realm. But she has managed to come to understand some of them and will come to know how to keep herself out of dangers wake. She researches the items of which the spirits posses and helps track down other items that might fall into the wrong hands.

ઽƬѳ૨y αвѳષƬ Ƭђ૯ ԲષƬષ૨૯:
The sign read ‘Occult Museum of Haunted Artifacts’
Was there a better way to spend a winter afternoon? No, at least not in Spook’s eyes. The week had been dull, the spirit activity that usually bustled around her day after day had withered away the day before in an unusual way, as though a switch had been flipped. For once she felt alone, unbothered by the drain of their presence, but at the same time she felt so lonely. So naturally she felt drawn to seek them out, when they were around she always wished they would just leave her be, but when they were gone she felt so empty and isolated. Maybe actively pressing them would flip her paranormal beacon back on.
The moment she opened the door the sent of dusty books and old clothing wafted to her nose. It had the typical museum smell but an atypical vibe that struck her so hard it made her head spin. Instantly she could feel them, they seemed to sense her presence like birds sense the morning. She could feel their stubbornness as they clung bitterly to the items that hid within glass cases. Some of them were angry, dangerous and others felt simply lost.
As she entered Spook felt the stirring and the instant suckling of her energy. She felt fatigue creep into her skull as she headed down a shadowed hallway towards a room she assumed would hold seventeenth century clothing and books. Spirits raged all around her behind their class prison cells, but she was drawn forward despite the snarling in her brain. That’s when she spotted it. A pale silk dress lay in a crumpled pile on the floor, the dust along the edge of its case appeared to have been lightly disturbed and the glass door hung open. It beckoned to her, bagging her for her energy, and as if in a daze Spook obliged, touching the edge of the fabric…..
The heartbeat her paw touched the fabric she felt the spirit latch onto her, drawing as much energy as it dared. A moment later the dress appeared to take shape. It rose form the flood and floated before her like an unseen bride, it dipped as though to curtsy and shuffled away. Spook trembled. Her body ached from exhaustion, there were so many of them demanding for her energy that she felt the effects begin to take over.
Through her haze of exhaustion she spotted the dress swaying just down the hallway a little ways. It seemed to dip and bob in such a way that she imagined a bride dancing the waltz with her groom. Spook wished she knew her story; she wanted to know why this spirit had woven itself into the threads of the silk gown. But the spirit didn’t want to share it. Instead it swayed back down the hallway to her and as though taking her by the hand and waist began to dance once more.
Spook felt her body move without her own intentions. Her skin turned to ice around her wrist and waist as the spirit eased her into the steps of the waltz. At first Spook was frightened, but then she began to laugh, joyous laughter in a tone that didn’t sound like her own, but it felt good.
The longer they danced the more drain Spook felt, till her strength would not hold a moment longer. Her eye lids drifted closed and for a moment she thought she felt lips on her forehead. Then she collapsed to the floor, exhaustion had finally taken her, by the time she had woken the dress had returned to its display. The curator of the Museum crouched over her waving the weeks newspaper in front of her face. But she didn’t regret it for a moment; the museum was now her favourite place.

Username: Eirian
Name: Spook
Developing Power: Telekinesis (So far she can lift things the size of a whiteboard marker down and only one object at a time)
*Note: Power cannot pass on to children
Personality: Spook is a very imaginative parrapup who often feels like she has all the time in the world - being left alone by her father (Ryder) usually means she has to entertain herself quite a bit and she does so by imagining she is in a different world, interacting with different parras she creates within her mind. Spook - like many five year olds - points out things they see in other behaviors and looks that are different from what she is used to seeing. She is also really critical about herself, and is often hard on herself when she goofs up or feels that she has done something wrong.
On the bright side, Spook is quick to ask questions if she doesn't understand and is curious about everything around her - she loves the feeling of freedom too, since she is alone Ryder doesn't really have an idea on what she actually does. This means that she gets up to mischief. When at home, she is rowdy and loud - described as being an outdoor parra more then an indoor parra.
Likes:
    - Stories | As a very imaginative parra, Spook finds a good way to share that imaginations is through stories that can be told and retold while still having the same effect.
    - Berries | Not only are berries good to eat, if you mix them with the right ingredients they can become cool, but messy paint to get on and put on everything!
    - Caves | Spook has a little odd adoration for caves, she likes to go off exploring within - hoping to find some kind of creatures like dragons or unicorns or maybe a hoard of shiny gold.
    - Trees | Spook enjoys climbing trees whenever she can, when surrounded by trees she feels right at home - this is mainly because she lives in a forest terrain with her father and brother.
Dislikes:
    - Forgotten | Being a very critical parrapup, Spook often thinks that she has done something wrong when she is forgotten about, this usually causes her to be a bit rowdy.
    - Cleanness | Often when messing around with her berry mixture, she has to wash down - which she absolutely hates since there is no way for her to really save the picture before it goes away. This usually causes her to run away from "Bath times" and stay away from water and out of the rain.
    - Rules | As a confident parra who feels the need to be independent, when rules are put in place Spook groans - she doesn't fully understand its for her own safety yet and sees it as a way to take the fun out of things.
    - Indoors | Small space, not much room to run around - if Spook knew what a prison was she'd probably describe it in that way and likes to get outdoors whenever she can.
Hobbies:
    - Painting | Usually on herself or on any loose bits of bark found, Spook mashes up some berries, maybe some water and some dirt and hooray! Paint! (of some kind). She usually puts the mixture on a leave and mixes it all up with her mouth - not the most pleasant experience but in the end Spook believes its worth it!
    - Climbing | Spook loves the feeling of being high up in the air where she can see everything from above - she loves climbing trees the best, as not only is it easy but its usually safer, as well as easier to find a sturdy spot! Spook sees it as a subsitute for not having wings.
    - Exploring | Spook enjoys exploring, she hopes to one day find a secret treasure or item that will put her in the history of Parrapups! Right now, she dreams of being an explorer in the future and wants to get as much experience as she can so she knows exactly what to do when she really does become an explorer.
    - Snoozing | After a long day of painting, climbing and exploring - Spook loves nothing more then finding a patch in the warm sun - or a nice dry cave if its raining - and snoozing the rest of the day away... She only hopes that she won't sleep so late its dark!
Relationships:
    - Ryder | Father | Spook loves her father, however because she is confused on how he feels about her she often tries to get out of his way - besides, he has her brother to take care of, since he can't see. Ryder is the only parrapup she doesn't speak that often too, usually its only a good morning or a good night unless Ryder actually stops her to have a proper chat.
    - Noodles | Brother | Spook and Noodles have a bit of a rocky relationship - Spook is jealous of him because he sucks up all the attention and she is usually forgotten about. But in the end, despite how much she says that she may hate him, she really does love him and hope to find something to cure his blindness when she goes out exploring in the future.

Spook possesses the power of mind control. Now before you go freaking out, it's very limited.
Her powers are only effective on.. well... inferior individuals, as Spook likes to call them.
In not so rude terms, people that are of lesser overall intelligence than her. Generally those
younger than her or just not as educated. Another limitation is that her her control is very
limited in time, and affects her negatively, for now. At her age, she isn't strong enough to
control others for tasks more than five minutes, and that's pushing it. It's very tasking on
her brain to actively suppress any urges the parra has, as well as forcing her own wishes.
Spook generally doesn't get away with anything big because her control isn't very strong and
she often gets terrible migraines right after. At this point is her life, the power is more of a
drawback than an advantage when used.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

INTELLIGENT BLUNT CONTROLLING LOYAL LONLEY
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Spook is a pretty straight forward parra. Not necessarily honest, but she sure does speak without a filter. She comes off as so rude and unfriendly because of the way she speaks, despite not intending it. Spook really does want friends and to be liked, but doesn't know how to go about it. She can be so belittling without even meaning to, it's a shock to others. Those close to her have learned to just ignore it or accepted it as just Spook being Spook, although it does cause some arguments. You see, Spook is pretty advanced for her age. She wants to become a spy or scientist when she's older, so she's been working towards it and can honestly say that she's smarter than most kids in her little island. She speaks in words that are more seven year old than five. This makes her seem very well... she comes off as a try-hard. Spook doesn't mean to, she just has a goal that she works toward. Her outward snobbishness combined with her inability to think before speaking, makes for a complete social outcast. Most parras in Spook's kind of friendship circle are older than her. She doesn't get along too well with most younger ones so she just sits with the big kids and becomes one of them. Despite this, she is still not a big kid, so even in that group she doesn't fit in. She kind of is her own floating existence, belonging only with her family. She loves her brother very much. Noodles is one of her few real friends and she's always willing to lend her dad a hand with Noodles, even if it's partially just to remind Ryder she exists. She fiercely protects her brother from any negative thing anyone says about him and will often even get into fights over his honor. Spook isn't all that bad, right? However, her one fatal flaw, which could possibly destroy her, is her need for control. She is very particular about everything. She checks her mane over sixteen times to make sure not a hair is out of place. She would do it fifteen times, but fifteen is an odd number. She hates odd numbers. Whenever she goes to try to play with the others, like maybe hide and seek, she refuses to participate if the number of girls and boys are not equal. Don't even get her started on when parras use one word sentences. Don't tell her no! Give her a reason attached to that no or just shake your head!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Image
Ryder is Spook's father. I mean he raised her, gave up his bachelor life for her.. and ignored her mostly, sure, but she still loves him. Normally when she wants his attention she'll do something, anything, to get his attention. Their relationship is pretty distant and not much can be said on how well they get along, because most times when they talk it's about Noodles or maybe just a little praise on how smart Spook is becoming (which generally influences her to become smarter or work harder). Spook is too young to really blame Ryder, but she can see that he's trying really hard to deal with a magical blind unicorn child. Spook hasn't actually told Ryder about her not-so-little power. She doesn't want to bother him any more than her problems with her eyes do. She will admit that she does sometimes use her power just for the migraine in order to get his attention. After a few tries she decided it wasn't worth it and only to use it when she needs to- needing to being used loosely, of course.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Image
Noodles is Spook's little potato unicorn. Spook loves her brother. She helps her dad whenever she can with him, so she also feels a bit responsible for him. She is still his sister and still gets grumpy and annoyed at him, but she never stays that way. And she swore to herself never to mind control him. Ever. For anything. That's just how much she loves this little guy. She told him about her powers the second she noticed them, and even did a little show off test, which may or may not have resulted in her trying to mind control Ryder. Spook is fiercely protective of him, standing up to anyone that dares bully him. She considers herself a good older sister and pats herself on the back whenever she can make him laugh or smile or stop some bully from ruining his day. Spook is very jealous but tries her best to put her feelings aside because she knows Noodles loves her. He always cuddles up with her and asks for a story, or just follows her around. She has learned that it's not Noodles fault, but still kind of resents him internally.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Image
Camniel is too quiet, in Spook's opinion. She isn't really scared off too much by his multiple eyes as she should be, I mean, have you seen her siblings? Whenever he's around he doesn't really talk to her, which puts Spook off a bit. She does enjoy his company, don't get her wrong, but she just wishes he were more talkative. His blindness isn't a bother to Spook. Spook just likes Camniel being around and just lounging with him, maybe telling him a story or just enjoying his company. However she doesn't get to spend much time with him, so they are a bit distant.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Image
Spook's relationship with Raaz is actually quite good. They share some of the same traits, such as their bluntness and her love for zombies, as well as their intelligent natures. Spook loves seeing Raaz's drawings and making up little stories to go with them. She isn't really scared of them, as not too much scares Spook anyway. Whenever Spook gets to hang out with Raaz, she brings some cards so they can play. It's kind of become their main activity. Spook has become very interested in different card games due to this (though she looses almost every time). Raaz is probably Spook's favourite parent.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Image
Azrael is someone Spook really admires. She will never admit it, as she is the older sister and therefore considers herself the one that should be admired. She is so jealous of his double wings, you wouldn't believe. She isn't really as jealous of the flight ability as much as the aesthetic. Whenever she gets to see him, she always plays with the feathers on his wings, which Azrael finds a bit annoying, but tolerates. Spook generally plays games a lot with Azrael, like no winged races or tug of war. As much as she loves Noodles, playing with Azrael is one thing she loves.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Image
Aech is a bit.. strange, to Spook. Their overall appearance is definitely interesting to Spook and definitely makes her wonder how they are related, much less brother and sister. Spook tries not to treat Aech differently, but struggles with it. She worries that Aech might hit their bill on something or even Spook herself. To emphasize, Spook is not scared of Aech, but really just doesn't know how to act around them. This causes them to have a rather strained relationship and not very many things to converse about.

Well this seems like an appropriate place to put this. Let's talk about Spook's name. I mean her real name. Anangke is a very small and hardly mentioned Greek deity, one of inevitability, compulsion and necessity. I didn't really name her after that though. She is literally named after her power because I have no creativity. Anangke is taken from a Greek word with greek letters that I can't be bothered to copy and paste (Ἀνάγκη) meaning force, constraint, necessity. I basically decided to take force and constraint out of context and add my own definition to it, as for me constraining someone is still a form of controlling them, holding them back, and force as forcing someone to do something. However the character I had in mind for Anangke wouldn't want that name. It would be far too fancy for her, so I still kept Spook but as a nickname.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It was a hot boring day. What else was new? Kids were playing soccer as Spook sat and watched. She didn't play because if she did there would be more girls than boys. Ryder was especially more concerned with Noodles today than usual, so Spook had just left to go see if she could find somewhere to be noticed, or at least talk to someone. But here she was, not playing because of her stupid OCD. The game was loud and hurt her sensitive ears a bit, but it was fun to watch. She noticed another parra was going to join. And ruin the even-ness of the game! Don't you dare! She mentally willed them to go away. So just imagine her surprise when she found herself somehow in the parra's brain. It was hard to describe, but she somehow felt all their urges and wants weighing down on her, but also a little voice sounding like hers yelling "don't you dare," as she just had. She instinctively held the urges under control as the young parrapup shakily walked to the sandbox to play with the sand. Spook lost her grip on the parra's mind and groaned, feeling her head thumping in protest. She had no idea what just happened and looked around. The parrapup she had just mind controlled away from the game looked confused for a second, but then went on playing in the sand. Spook was so confused, and her head was killing her. She decided to go home. She greeted Ryder with a hug and then went to go tell Noodles everything... after taking a nap, of course. She explained the whole thing and how it felt inside the parra's head. Noodles didn't believe her at first, thinking it was just a story she made up. Angrily, Spook said she'd control Ryder and prove it. Noodles challenged her to make Ryder make noodles. Spook then went to Ryder and thought really hard, I want noodles at him. There seemed to be a wall, coded in an unsolvable manner blocking her. She tried harder, thinking perhaps she did it wrong. Still there was a wall. Eventually she stopped trying, but as she did, she felt as if a hammer had knocked her upside the head and nearly collapsed at the impact. She didn't even realize how long she had been trying to crack Ryder. Her brain wasn't developed enough to control someone of higher intelligence and her powers weren't developed enough to last that long. Long story short, Spook has never tried to control Ryder ever again and Noodles eventually got Spook's powers proven to him.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Let's talk about Spook. I mean we have been, but let's talk more about her! This section is about how she carries herself, talks, walks, stands, acts, and thinks. Ready? Let's go

speech habits Spook has a naturally quiet voice, thank goodness for her sensitive hearing. She naturally sounds very soft and actually quite motherly. Many times she has been told to speak louder or speak up, but she genuinely can't. She is a quick speaker, however. She is often asked to slow down, but then gets too slow.. which ends in people thinking she's being sarcastic. Spook also has a larger vocabulary than expected of a five year old, so that normally enters conversations that she has. Whenever she is speaking she tends to look people straight in the eye. With the recent annoyance of her powers, she tries not to do that as much, in fear of accidentally taking control of them, but she is mostly safe on that one. She is a very animated speaker, with many hand motions and facial expressions to match her words and moods.

Walking Spook is a quick walker, taking long quick steps that make her pretty hard to keep up with. She normally walks looking down, as she tries consciously not to trip and fall. To her, that is the worst embarrassment.

Behavior She is capable of staying very calm and actually is very patient and tolerant. It takes quite a bit to get on her bad side... or just talking bad about Noodles.

Thought Process Spook is very impulsive, so she doesn't think much before doing something stupid. She is very quick and intuitive, despite her intelligence. It's expected of smart people not to be impulsive, but alas, Spook is.

*Funfact, I kept calling her Spooky and had to fix that so many times. I think I fixed all of them
