The baby is shy, quiet and doesn't want to come out of hiding, much like Hevlaska was when she was that age. Hevlaska has slightly broken out of her shell, but she still has a long way to go. Taking in a young child might help her grow more bold, and she could help the child tremendously with firsthand past experience. Hevlaska herself was quiet and shy, not wanting anything to do with others, and perhaps a child with the same problem would help the baby come out of its shell in time.

Why should they be chosen to be the adoptive parents? What makes them ideally suited for taking care of this child?:
Demi, Al, and Cam are in a very loving, easy going relationship along with Al's 'adopted son' Ciel. Demi is the motherly type, and has always wanted a child of his own, however Al is an immortal plumie(Plumie 500) and fears outliving his own child, and Cam seems the lack the ability to produce kids since he's androgynous. This leads to Demi being in able to have kids with either of them, despite severely wanting his own. Demi and Ciel don't get along the best since Demi is an artist, and Ciel is a kid with superior intelligence and a hatred for anyone other than Alistair, therefore Demi can't baby him how he wants. Despite all this, Al, Cam, and Demi are a very loving group and would care for a child no matter how the child grew up.
