Wednesday Colberdee Crawford

Ever since she was younger, the soft heart always had time for her brother, and she could
always see that he had time for her. His comfort is the greatest thing you could ask for,
and that is just what Wednesday received when the sensitive girl gets hurts, both physically
or emotionally. On certain nights she could slip into bed with him, afraid of the wonders
of the outside world late at night. Her brother's warm, almost seemingly grumpy smile is
all she needs.

Ever since she had developed her love for scarf photography, her brother's opinions became
important.

Ever since she laid her eyes on or tried to approach any young man, she could see her brother's
protection develop over her.

Wednesday and her brother's connection involves reassurance. If her brother ever seems upset,
even when he isn't unknowingly, her words will always be," Everything will be okay," a phrase
she picked up from her brother when she was younger, during the state of comfort that he
had developed for her.

Though Wednesday is very sweet around her brother, she may tend to get a little nervous
around him when they're both doing something that he may find to be the simplest of things.
She tends to get nervous when others, or more so, her brother, notices her jumpy or clumsy
side of things, and often does she hope to show her brother that she won't always be afraid.

She can be strong.

They do have those moments where her brother asks her something embarrassing, perhaps
simply to tease her. This leads to Wednesday's more flustered side, though she doesn't get
too fierce. Opening her mother, closing it then looking away in embarrassment, she could
glance back over at her brother to notice the smile he rarely gives. She appreciates his
affection, but if it gets in the way of being brave about something, that could cause an
argument. Their short arguments usually leads her to swatting her scarf end at his face
playfully - usually a comeback to him for having embarrassed her.

The last two things Wednesday has longed to ask her brother, is what it's like to die, and if
they'll ever find love before they do. She knows for sure, that ever seeing her brother
involved with love, keeps her from wondering about her own urge for love.

Wanna know why wear these scarves? I’m not confident about myself. Especially around my brother. He’s…my role model. He’s the favorite, you know. Or at least…he should be. I can never match up to him. I always try, but nothing I do is quite as good as the way he does it. These scarves give me something to hide behind around him.

Don’t get me wrong—I love my brother. I would do anything for him. But I don’t want him to see me as a failure…so I usually hide who I really am around him. I guess you could say I our relationship isn’t built on honesty. I’m not always truthful to him...though I want to be…but I’m scared.

When we were young I followed him everywhere, always nagging him and trying to get in on the games he played. But soon I realized I needed to grow up and stop relying on him for self-confidence. Back then…he was my source of bravery. When I was around him I felt…safe and secure.

Now…well, now I still love him, but things are different. The words we exchange aren’t as they used to be. Now they are more…polite. Our relationship? Complicated. I want to trust him with darkest secrets, and feel that sense of security around him again, but for some reason growing up has also made us grow apart. I hope someday things will change, but for now, I’m tired of trying to fight my lack of confidence. For now…I’ll hide behind my insecurities. I'll hide behind my .

well im not really sure how to explain it. Emotionally, i 'guess' were close but physically... it's different. I know he's my brother and he know's im his sister but were not like the kind of sibling's that are like " Oh my god! I havent seen you in forever! How are you?" It's more of like, were stranger's to one another. He's off doing his own thing like alway's while im here being a journalist, when we were younger i had hardly ever saw him. Not to make it more dramatic than what it already is but i never knew he was my brother at first until i asked my mother who the stranger was. Dont get me wrong i was blown out of my mind but... there was that strike of sorrow yet interest about him. How could someone go on living knowing that they had a sister but never be interested at all with her? Im dumbfounded when i ask myself that question but i guess what happens is what happens. There's no wrong nor no right but everytime i see him, there's something there. Something inside of him that i see, compassion i think is what it is. Although we might be stranger's to one another, us being siblings will never change.
