Like most Chicoons, Borgata wasn't born to be a fighter. He has a pretty friendly outlook and isn't really aggressive for the most part. He's just as unaware of insults as he is of danger, so there's not much reason for him to go to war, or at least there wasn't until the Fall Festival, when he found out about the gummy citizens being attacked, and got enlisted into the skeleton army inside of The Maze. But we're getting ahead of ourselves.
When I said most Chicoons aren't fighters, that doesn't really apply to the leader of the encampment, Aztec. He is responsible for looking after the others and defending them from threats of all kinds, and he does this by a combination of sharp intellect and brute force. When Borgata started coming around as a youngling, even with his feathers just grown in, Aztec began training him and insisting that he learn the ways of the warrior while he was still young and impressionable. This impacted him greatly because not only did he get into excellent physical shape (if a bit skinnier than the average Chicoon) he also became more stealthy and cunning, traits which would aide him if there were ever a reason to do battle for real.
While he has never had to fight another Chicoon for any reason, Borgata has chased off large birds when they tried to swoop down toward his axolotl buddy he carries around in a bucket. He bared his teeth, hissed ferociously, and pounced at the bird! It flapped away and his little friend was safe but he has started being more careful and keeping the bucket usually held in his mouth or else he keeps it between his forelegs, right under his chest so he can defend the little one easily if need-be and the predators around see that it is well-guarded.
When in the skeleton army, Borgata initially tried to attack by using a wooden sword and shield, but he quickly found out that this was cumbersome and could even result in him falling down because his balance on his hind paws is not the best. This is a bit unfortunate because he liked keeping a weapon in between him and his opponent, even if it weren't the most formidable blade. What actually worked out much more for him was when he stood on all fours like natural and used the same attacks he had practiced with Aztec as a youngling.
The first attack is called bite, and this is very simple: he opens his mouth and chomps down on his opponent. A small bite focuses on his fangs, which are sharp enough to pierce the skin (although his skeleton buddies don't have skin so this move doesn't hurt them). A bigger bite would put pressure on the teeth further back in his mouth, and he is able to shift his jaw while doing so, creating a bit of a grinding motion that would really tear up anything held between his teeth.
His other attack is called headbutt, and he pulls back his head and then charges forward and thrusts it toward his enemy at full force! This is especially painful because of his antlers, which are a bit sharp. If his antlers don't poke someone in the eye or jab them in the soft bits, then surely the force of his charging will crash them backward and they'll most certainly be out of breath.
Finally there is the 'burn' attack. He is able to channel his energy into his tail flame and cause it to become brighter and hotter, burning any who it makes contact with, but this attack is currently unavailable to him because his parasite, Wiggly, actually covers his tail. That being the case, if Borgata tried to burn anyone he would end up burning Wiggly and that's no good so he focuses on using his teeth and his antlers for the most part, although he will throw in a kick, scrape, or shoulder-check, depending on the opportunity.
Wiggly isn't much of a fighter. His mouth is tiny and it doesn't appear to have any discernible teeth, although Borgata isn't too sure about that. Either way, Wiggly doesn't assist him in battle aside from the bonuses to his constitution such as strength, speed, and other stats, which have all been enhanced by the parasite's presence.
Borgata doesn't want to be a fighter or a warrior, in fact he just wants to have a nice and peaceful life and these missions keep being thrust upon him, seemingly by a higher power that is messing with him for some reason... messing with him, to enhance his development? Make him a better Chicooon? Whatever the reason is, he isn't too pleased about it.
The things he keeps on him show him as more of a sentimentalist than anything. He's been carrying around his carved pumpkin, which bears an image of him and Wiggly on it. He kept that with him all throughout the Candy Kingdom. Borgata actually has a really nice leopard-print backpack, and he keeps his other stuff in there. It's full of what appear to be Halloween Candies, Bones, and Potions of various descriptions. Basically anything he finds that seems like it might be remotely useful to him gets stuffed into the backpack, which is near to the point of overflowing by now.
Even when he needs to make room for more items in there, he won't throw anything away. He will use whatever seems appealing to him, and sooner rather than later because he can be a bit impatient about trying out his new goodies. Decoratory objects or those without an immediate use will be added to his home, joining the hordes of other items and collectibles stocked there. He has an entire ball made up of bird feathers that he found and then clustered up and wove together so it looks like a fluffy blob of a birdie... He has a special box of stones he found which are pretty colors, or nice shapes, or which he discovered while having an especially good day with someone he cares about... Basically, he saves everything and whatever he decides he doesn't want anymore won't be simply tossed out but rather he will find someone and give it to them as a gift, knowing his possessions will go on to have a nice existence as part of someone else's collection.
While wandering through the maze, Borgata has actually found a number of bones and he has been thinking about taking them and doing something with them, instead of leaving those parts to sit endlessly within the corridors. He kind of thinks that it would be neat if he had a helmet made from a skull, and a big club that might be a femur bone or something, however he doesn't know how others would react to this and whether it is a good idea or not, but the thought comes to him every time that he passes down a hallway and finds some bones strewn on the floor or heaped up in a pile. Part of him says, "don't let those go to waste", and another part says, "isn't anything sacred to you?! Leave them be!" so it remains to be seen which side is actually stronger in the long run, and whether he will get those morbid accessories or not.
