π’«π“‡π‘œπ“‚π“…π“‰:

Serenity always had a way with animals, no matter what the size or species, fluff or scales. She’d often walk through the woods nearby her home, peacefully strolling through, looking for animals in need, to help and nurture.

She began this past time once on a chilly autumn afternoon, after a rather tough Day she decided to relax and unwind in the nearby willow forest, hoping a peaceful nature walk would soothe her. She wandered rather deep into the woods, and soon she found herself lost. Puzzled, and afraid, she sat in a small clearing, wondering what to do.

As she pondered, she couldn’t help but notice a small Yelp from the bushes. Almost a call for help. Curious, she padded her way over to the push, and pushed the bush aside, finding a dainty, frail deer, in terrible condition, yipping for help. She felt great pity for the thing, and decided to help it. She went straight to business, pulling the arrow that was wedged into her hind leg out swiftly, quickly bandaging it up with a Large scrap of Her blouse. The deer, now all fixed up, was incredibly thankful and offered to lead her home. Serenity agrees, as she wasn’t fond of getting lost. On her way home, the deer revealed that it wasn’t just a deer, but a princess of a long line of equine royality, who had been shot down by a fierce hunter, who she barely managed to escape from.

Reaching her home, Serenity bowed her head respectfully to the deer princess, glad she could help her. As she headed back to her home, Serenity felt incredibly happy with herself, deciding she would delicate all her spare time to helping all those like the deer princess.

She obtained her signature bell from one of her outings to the woods. Being careful not to venture too deep like her first time, she left a small trail of silver bells she had left over from Christmas decorations. Finding nothing after her journey, she decided to head back, only to find her little bells were all gone. Unsure of what to do next, she somehow stumbled into the territory of the deer princess’s home. The princess, glad to see her again, thanked her by gifting her a priceless heirloom, a large, shiny bell. She explained that the bell would ring loudest when she neared home.

Using her new gift, she easily found her way home. Since then, she has never feared going too deep into the forest, for she knew her bell would always guide her home.

I have been on CS since January 2009, and I think it's time to move on.
I have many fond memories and will still love and cherish the characters I've gained
through closed species, auction, etc. They are my family and will not be going anywhere.

Almost all my pets and all my unlocked items are up for trade for artwork, so if
you are an artist and would love to be commissioned, please send me a message!
I am looking for all sorts of art - feral (canine, feline), humanoid, etc. so feel
free to show me your examples and we can work out something! ^^

xxx- With Love,

Prompt: You've heard of the myth of will-o-wisps right? Those pretty dancing lights you see flitting about the trees on dark nights, beckoning you to follow them? They say some nights if you listen hard enough to can hear the gentle chime of a bell bouncing around with the lights. It’s a mesmerizing sound and the way the light bounces around it’d be a shame if you didn’t join them. The legend goes that ages ago a young kalon got lost in the woods one foggy night. As they wandered through the woods trying to find their way home they came across these beautiful dancing lights bobbing through the trees rhythmically. It was almost as if the lights were calling to them, enticing them to follow, calling out to them as if they knew the way out of the terrible, dark woods. So the kalon followed them and followed them and followed them, the sound of a bell around their neck echoing amongst the trees. They never found their way out of the woods though and when a search party was sent out there were no signs the kalon had ever existed.

It’s thought that the will-o-wisps carried the kalon off to their realm that night, leading them away into the fairy realm. On foggy nights you can see a light bouncing around the trees, the chime of a bell following it. Perhaps it’s the kalon that got lost all those years ago, trying to entice you to follow them through the woods. But I wouldn’t do that if I were you. If you follow the pretty dancing lights you might suffer the same fate as the kalon with a bell around its neck.

WIP hehe

Username:Tearexx
Name: Ande

Prompt: wrote:When you think about moving into a cottage in the woods, the quiet sounds like a good thing. When Ande moved from his small apartment in the city to an even smaller cabin in the mountains, he thought just that. Finally left alone, he spent hours in the garden, tending to his plants and enjoying the serene sound of nature. Summer came and went, he harvested his crops, and watched the snow fall from his large windows as winter set in. And with winter came the silence. No song birds chirping happily in the trees, no deer grazing on the grass in his front lawn. A vacuum of silence fell across the mountains seemingly overnight, the only sounds being his heavy, frightened breathing and the sound of his paws pressing into the deep snow on the forest floor.

Winters are long in the mountains. Or, maybe they just seem that way while you're stuck in what seems to be a dead zone. White noise crackled in Ande's ears at all times. He looked forward to the moments each day when he would have to open his jars of perserves, relishing in the soft click of the mason jar opening.

When christmas time finally arrived, he took solace in the quiet clink of metal ornaments as they bumped into eachother. He reached into his ornament box one final time and grabbed a large bell ornament. He examined it, not remembering where he had gotten it from. It looked just so slightly rusted, with a cat's face carved into the center. As he turned to put it on the tree, the bell rang. Ande cried. He desperately shook the bell in his paws again. And again. And again. He rolled over on his back, shaking the bell in his hand repeatedly, listening to the soft ring as it echoed in his ears and throughout his house. Ande couldn't bare another soundless day, maybe even another soundless second. He squeezed his head through the ribbon opening of the ornament and slid it down to his neck. He shook his head, delighted by the ringing.

Ande went on a walk outside, his bell ringing with every step, and his feet crunching in the snow below. Winter seemed a whole lot shorter.

    Name: Sylvie
    Prompt:
By all means, curses were abhorrent, vile things – but, as one with a much more positive outlook on life, this dark form of magic was really just the earth’s playful take on riddles and puzzles. It was only a game - a challenge to build a strong character! Surely the others would understand that if they just bothered to play along? Whining and crying would get them nowhere; magic wasn’t known to give pity. But it was malleable, easy to convince and command – if one was willing to turn to it, then the answers practically gave themselves up!

When Sylvie was cursed into silence only a couple of years into her youth, she had been sent into a panic not unlike any other unfortunate soul. But her worries never lasted long, and she wouldn’t let this be the one thing to drag her down. So what if the curse was unbreakable?! As if there weren’t workarounds out there. Sylvie wasn’t just going to mope around and mime her misery when she could be doing something! There were wizards galore in the town, set up in the own unique little shops. Every little niche was filled with a masterful spellcaster – really, the only problem Sylvie could see was finding one that was cheap.

The seller that eventually won her over was an older gentleman parading around stylish accessories with magical benefits. In a poetic litany, he described the power and prestige that he brought to his craft, claiming himself a saint for gifting almighty enchantments for pennies and dimes. When he circled back around to the collar and its bell, he gave vibrant expressions to match his tale. There was no other item like it – this one, with a life of its own, snatched words out of the air, stealing them from others to gift to its master.

Sylvie just couldn’t wait to put it to action. As soon as the collar was latched around her neck, she smiled gratefully at the seller. He led her to the door without a word, and soon, she could understand why. Excitement had her breaking into conversations, eager puppy dog eyes staring up at strangers. They greeted her with β€˜Hello’s’ and β€˜How are you, today’s,’ and before she could respond, her bell was jerking forward, splitting apart like a hungry mouth and snapping shut as the conversation lulled.

And when there were no more words to be had, Sylvie would wander away, leaving passerby gaping in frustration and scratching at their throats. The vocabulary was a little odd, but being in the marketplace, that only made sense. Their words were her own, and she made sure to use them with a grin. For its master, the bell mimicked the baker’s β€˜Care for a biscuit today?’ and the city guard’s β€˜Have a safe ride!’ Sylvie silently snickered as they floundered to say the same to the next person after before the realization hit, fleeing before they could come after her and take their words back.

Name: Riesling (The bell's name is Bel)
Prompt (and Extra): (422/500)

A thud.
"Stop it!"
Sounds of paws shuffling in the dirt.
A brief silence, then more thuds, as if something heavy was being picked up and dropped repeatedly.
"I said CUT IT OUT!"
Soft sounds of a bell ringing, almost as if in mirth; if bells could have feelings or show emotions.
"You said you needed me to help you, and I can't help you if you're here trying to strangle me to death!"
(A voice of desperation, strained, marred by annoyance.)

Another pause of silence, tentative, before the speaker let out a sigh of relief....
____________________________________________________________________________________________________

Riesling and Bel (the bell) are an interesting duo for sure.

Riesling, the unwilling "hero" in this adventure, didn't sign up for the role; they simply wanted to purchase a stylish bell-and-collar combo to wear as an accessory. Drawn in by the sales pitch of the merchant, they had happily put on the collar-
And, just like that, they were stuck.

That night, Riesling was horrified to hear a small voice chiming in their ear, telling them things like "get up!" and "help me!". At first they were alarmed, but after they realized that the voice seemed to be coming from the bell attached to their collar, they were a lot more skeptical about the whole process. Their thoughts ranged from it's a prank to I'm just hearing things until they finally decided that they should get this dumb thing off of me and get some sleep. It seemed like a great idea until they realized, with a horrible jolt, that they couldn't seem to undo the buckle.
("Sucks, moron!", said the bell in their ear.)

After a brief long panic, the bell (self-named Bel, how original) explained the situation that they were in; they were bound together by magic now, and, in order to take off the collar, Riesling would have to help Bel (the bell) accomplish its goal ("because I can't move by myself!").
Of course, Riesling was unwilling.
They were a carefree young adult with hopes, and dreams, and their own goals, so no way were they going to drop everything help out this stupid-

T H U D .

Riesling, suddenly weighed down by a force around their neck, dropped to the ground.

After another brief long panic, Bel-the-bell continued on to reveal that, though it couldn't move, it could change its weight at will, and, (it stressed this) could-and-would trap Riesling on their belly until they agreed to help.
So Riesling agreed to help.

(Though it doesn't make it any easier that Bel (the bell), seems to have lost its memories, and have no idea what its goal is supposed to be.)
