"I just have a violent reaction to stupid people."
The sun dips below the mountainous horizon, letting darkness settle, the three moons shining with pride against the barren landscape. Aidan's head is fast asleep, but Adrian sits awake, watching out the cave mouth as the creatures native to the planet rise for the night. Ambriel sleeps in the back, gentle snoring escaping his mouth. The air is gentle, peaceful despite the harsh conditions of daytime. A breeze kisses the dunes, blowing up clouds of sand that fall to the ground moments later. The hot air begins to cool, bringing a sense of safety along with it.
Slowly, gently, Adrian moves a paw to rest their head on, careful not to wake Aidan. A gentle breeze rustles their fur, the moonlight lighting the inside of the cave. A sigh escapes their mouth, eyes closing. Within moments, they’re fast asleep.”Hey Ade, tell me about your home planet!”
*Aidan speaks first* Our home planet... It isn’t the friendliest place. It’s kinda depressing. It’s about 20% water, but it rains a lot. It’s mostly mountainous, but what isn’t tall mountains, it’s a huge desert. Sand as far as the eye can see. Even though it rains a lot, the sand is always dry. It rarely rains in the desert areas, it usually stays in the mountains, but when it moves to the desert, it’s very brief. *Aidan glances at Adrian, who continues* It’s really hot there. The rain is pretty cool, counters the extreme temperatures, but you can’t be afraid to get your fur wet. We always complained about the heat up there, we’re glad to be away. *Looks at Aidan, who nods* We really didn’t enjoy it there.

”That sounds terrible. Why did you come to Earth? Aside from the obvious.”
*They exchange glances and snicker a little. Aidan speaks first.* Well it wasn’t really our choice. We were originally born on Earth, but an alien named Ambriel took us to his planet when we were very young. We were raised by him, we learned everything we know from him. When we turned 16, he returned us to our siblings. Our parents had already left us. We never really got to know them.
”Oh... Why did he take you?”
*Adrian speaks up hesitantly* We don’t really know why he took us. We asked a lot, but he never really answered us. He really seemed to care about us though. He taught us a lot, he fed us, let us wander a lot. We got sort of lonely and it took us some time to warm up to him, but once we did, we were glad for his company. *Aidan nods in agreement and speaks quickly* We lived in a cave next to a small pond. There wasn’t much water on the planet, we adapted to not need much, so we mostly just swam in it. It was nice considering how hot it was. *Adrian glares at Aidan for getting off topic and talks again* Anyways, back to the topic. We always just assumed he wanted children of his own, but we really don’t know.
”What about when you got back? How did your siblings feel about it?”
*Aidan smiles gently before speaking* They don't know we're related. We know, but the others don’t. We haven’t really told them that we’re siblings, but we all talk quite a bit. They don’t really know our story. We’ve grown somewhat attached to them, mostly to make up for the first 16 years of our life without them.
”What do you think about your siblings’ professions?”
*Adrian shakes their head and sighs* We think it’s kind of... Stupid. We don’t believe in all that godly stuff. There’s no proof, so we don’t believe it. We try to respect their beliefs, but sometimes we get a little fed up. Not to mention Aidan’s big mouth. *Aidan flushes red and interjects* I do not have a big mouth! It’s not my fault all they talk about it god of this and god of that, god almighty! *Adrian sighs, having had this argument before, hissing at Aidan* Not in the middle of the interview, Aidan! Pull yourself together. *Adrian smiles sheepishly and continues talking* But anyways. We generally just avoid conversations about it.
”Do you two always bicker like that?”
*Adrian nods emphatically, but Aidan objects loudly* We do not! Only when I’m right and Adrian can’t admit it. *Adrian rolls their eyes and sighs* Yes. Yes we do.
”Is there a more childish one of you two?”
*Aidan chuckles and raises a paw, willing to admit it* Yep. That’s all me. Adrian keeps me in check usually, but it’s not my fault butterflies and stickers still excite me and I can’t help but argue! *Adrian nods slightly but doesn’t speak*
”So is Adrian the mature one? Like a leader maybe?”
*They both shake their heads, Adrian speaking* No no, I’m definitely more mature, but there is no leadership. We’re just... Ade. There’s no leader, we both have the same control and say in everything. Since we’re... Attached basically, we have telepathy between us, so we don’t really even have to talk to each other. We're a team.
"So tell me about yourself. What's your personality like?"
*Adrian flashes a witty grin and speaks first* We're both actually pretty different, though I tend to have a more dominant personality. *Adrian shifts uncomfortably from using the pronoun "I"* I'm loud and outspoken, pretty cranky and sarcastic. I don't really care if what I say offends someone, that just sucks for them. I'm pretty feisty and strong willed, independent and argumentative. If someone disagrees with me, I make it known that they're wrong. *Adrian looks over at Aidan who takes over* While I on the other hand, am very mellow. I'm pretty chill, I don't really care about much. I'm pretty immature and I make a lot of puns. I usually provide most of our witty comebacks, though Adrian usually speaks them. Together we tend to be more of Adrian than me, which I don't mind. I guess it doesn't really matter to me. I get annoyed often, but I let Adrian handle it. I think we make a good team.
"I noticed your discomfort using the pronoun "I." Is there a reason for that?"
*Aidan nods* Yeah, we usually only use the pronouns "we/us" and "they/them." It's weird for us to talk individually about ourselves. We're usually just grouped together as one.
"What about hobbies? Anything special you like to do?"
*Adrian speaks first* We love to sing! Our voices have great harmonies and it’s really calming. We love music, it’s good for the soul. *Aidan speaks next* We also love puzzles and video games, we never had things like that back on our “home planet.” We don’t really do anything that takes any sort of coordination though. We each control two legs, so we’re not that coordinated. *They both smile sheepishly*
Cranky, independent, and strong-willed, they are very argumentative and fierce. They can be rude and snarky at times, but they also have their good moments. They get along really quite well, but they bicker a lot. Depending on their mood, they can be sweet and nice (which tends to be unusual) or bitter and feisty. Ade has the brainpower to outsmart anyone. They’re super smart and incredibly talented.. As long as they don’t need any coordination. They’re not very spiritual or faithful, nor do they really understand religion, but they respect it. They plan to follow a career path in music, though they have quite a ways to go before they reach that goal.
