Maeve's life was the right kind of predictable. Every morning, she would step out of her home, dressed in coveralls and wellingtons. She'd check the chicken nests, collecting eggs as she let them out for the day. Then she'd move to the rabbit hutch, making sure they had enough to eat, then take care of her cattle and sheep.

Morning would go on, early afternoon filling her farm with the sound of her twins. The two were old, ten years old, and thankfully knew how to make eggs, pancakes, or peel fruit. But neither bore the bright colors Maeve sported, carrying more muted and washed out tones, plus a penchant for trouble than ran as long as a summers' day.

But they were not excessively cruel. Maeve could trust them with feeding the chickens, petting the rabbits, and trying to brush the cattle (with careful supervision). When she didn't need extra help in weeding and tending to straw, she tried her best to get the librarian to teach them.

They were not her children, but she knew them all their lives. She had lost a friend, they a mother. In the small town, they both got the support they needed, Maeve through her adult friends, and the children from them as well. The town came together to help them all, and that was something she couldn't say in the city.

The routine through the months was tedious, but it was peppered with small joys that Maeve treasured. Calves were born. The sheep would crowd around her as she hand fed them fresh spring leaves. The children running home from the library-and-school. Holding newly hatched chicks. Sipping cocoa on an early fall day.

She wouldn't trade this for the world. After twenty years, she finally found home.

"No worries, no worries," Z whispered to himself, making yet another mistake
in what he was playing. Sighing heavily, he sat down his guitar pick on a nearby
table and seated himself. He let out an 'oof,' as he sat down, feeling his fingers
tingle from all the playing he was doing. His vocal chords hurt from belting out
the words to the song, which of course, happened to be a My Chemical Romance
song. He reached for his water, taking a long swig of it. After setting it down, he
looked at his watch to see that his band mates were already 15 minutes late.
Which was usual of them, but Z was starting to get tired of them always showing
up late. He sighed, grabbing a nearby hair tie and quickly putting his long mane
into a messy bun.
"One more time," he said, taking in a large breath as he turned his phone screen
back on, where he was playing the instrumental to the song. He skipped the parts
that he had already perfected, going almost straight to the end where he kept messing
up for some reason.
"Alright, let's try this again," he muttered to himself, grabbing his pick and leaning over
to begin playing what was on his phone. He began to play and belt the words to the song
once again, his singing a little rough due to his throat, but other than that, it sounded
fantastic. Once he finished the song, he realized something; he did the last part perfectly.
He laughed in astonishment, tossing his pick onto a table.
"Yes!" he exclaimed, throwing up his hands. Yes!"
"Looks like you don't need us anymore."
Z turned around to see his band mates, letting out a laugh as they smiled proudly at him.

She use to always be alone. She would only find feelings in the water. She learned to hold her breath very well at a young age. After she grew up she was shunned away from the other Kalon's. Humans seemed to ignore her too. All she has ever wanted was to have someone to swim with. Someone to share her passion. One day she did her regular routine. She wondered off to a large beach in the middle of the night. She sat down to take in the beautiful reflection of the moon on water. She got up heading into the water. She was collecting shells on the ocean bottom. She popped her head up just for a moment to catch a young girl heading toward her with a wooden board of some sort. The girl paddle herself on it right towards Galiliani. Galiliani dove underwater to hide away as the girl paddled over her. She came back up just in time to see the girl stand on this board and ride the waves. Galiliani swam up to where the girl had stopped and looked at her in awe. The girl realized right away it was a Kalon. She put her hand out trying to pet Galiliani. She backed away, unsure of this human. The girl looked at Galiliani, "Do you like my surfboard? You wanna come for a ride?" Galiliani looked at her funny. The girl put out her hand and helped Galiliani onto the surfboard. They paddled out and Galiliani held on for her life. Once the young girl hit a wave Galiliani realized that its fun and she stood up enjoying the ride. All night they rode waves, and Galiliani finally found someone who enjoys her passion. the girl took Galiliani home and they became even closer.
