name: Dione
gender: female
prompt answer:
- When she was younger, Dione was academically gifted, and she was born with talents that drew others towards her. Because of this, Dione was a natural at social interaction.
As she grew in age, so did her confidence. That confidence soon bloomed into pride.
She became egotistical and vain, and all her friends and classmates started getting sick of this "new Dione." Despite all the negative feedback, Dione would retort that she was just "getting better" or "staying confident for myself."
Soon, Dione got a new nickname.
The Queen.
She loved it. She was a queen among children, and she loved the attention.
One day, after accidentally listening in on a friends' conversation, she ran home in tears after she finally realized her nickname's true meaning.
She was a queen because she was a cruel dictator.
Because she had put herself on such a high pedestal and put herself way too high above others.
Because she was alone at the top.
...
Dione started to mellow down. Her old "friends" began to see her change, but it went through extremes.
She started sitting at the back of the class. She started staying by herself during breaks. Every time she walks, she does so with her head down and eyes averting faces.
Confused but glad, everyone started mocking her.
"What happened to the Queen?" "Hey freak, where's Dione?"
Dione was consumed with inner hate and anger. She didn't want to go back to being the cruel dictator.
She started to ease her pain with... questionable... alternatives.
Staying out late, going to bars, and making deals with random people. Not only was she a "loner," but she was also the "social outcast." The "delinquent." The "freak."
...
One by one, her friends left. Eventually, her family let her go. Soon enough, she was truly alone.
The strangest thing was, Dione was okay.
For once, she was surrounded by people who were asking her to sing or play the piano. She wasn't being pestered by classmates who asked for her homework.
She liked the quiet. She liked her broken down, smoke-filled, alcohol-reeking apartment. She liked her dead-end job since she was getting paid enough anyway.
The Queen was alone in her own kingdom, but she liked it.
(somewhat based off of Kageyama from Haikyuu!! with the nickname)
