The sun always scared me
and I do not know why
it made me feel unsafe
and it made me want to cry

for some reason,
I wasn't really sure
what could cure my phobia
of this glorious light.

when the night brings me more joy
then the sun ever has
I am not sure what I can do
to make this phobia not last.

But when I look at the sun going down
I start to feel... happier
like the devil is now away
and the moon comes out.

When the moon comes out
I feel way different
like a sudden joy when the stars twinkle
and the sun is away.

Breathing in those faux desires
From which the cold dust rests upon.
The name of the wind speaks, yet,
Icarus falls within my head.

Droplets of rain foregather,
The webs inside the castle tingle as they fall.
Down my chin, I taste thin air.
"Some hues stay absent," I cast.

My voice shaking without control.
The phosphenes break; I garner myself.
The distance from the window mysel
Tangle with vines from centuries pass.

As my vision blurs the giant fire descends.
It was never attractive before so,
Of out of appropriation it is now.
I was tired of this myopic routine.

The pleasantries slip as night begins,
But through color I could not tell.
Speaking in voices of mismatched palettes
The rain of my eyes descend once more.
Into the oblivion of my denouement. The day is done.

It wasn't supposed to end this way,
With the Sun shining on our faces.
It was supposed to be expected,
we weren't ready for you to go.
You were supposed to stay here longer,
not while the day was young.

It wasn't supposed to be so fast,
going while we had turned our backs.
It was supposed to be dark and drear,
but the sky only shed a few tears.
You weren't supposed to leave us,
at least not if it was our choice.

It wasn't supposed to be in panic,
calling for help and crying out loud.
It was supposed to nice and calm,
watching as you took your final breath.
You were supposed to be here for more,
to watch me grow and learn.
But I looked at you and knew,
your time was finally done.

Just know I'll always miss you,
and our times under the Sun.
All the lessons you taught me,
and moments we had alone.
I'll miss your smile and laugh,

that you don't care about me.
but maybe that just means

the darkness seems like a never ending rift
that takes me away like a sea drift.
the thought of you not caring
has made me more daring
to take a risk i may regret.
though maybe if I just stay set
you will realize how much pain
you gave me when you let me float away.

one day i hope you can say the same way
