what does love mean to them?
“All the pretty words in the world will never truly describe what love is. I could tell you that love is when you imagine their face when you desperately need something to ground you. I could tell you that love is when you lay awake in the early morning, and the songbird's tune reminds you of them. I could tell you that love is when you yearn for their comfort and theirs alone, their fingers entwined in yours as you each whisper sweet nothings and laugh for no reason.

I could tell that you what love is not. It’s not lust. It’s not wanting to push them to the bed. It’s not your hand on their thigh under the table.

I could tell you all this, but would you understand what love is? Would you walk away, and be able to say, I can imagine that feeling exactly?

No person can accurately capture the essence of love. It’s a little different for everyone, and not all love is the romantic sort. It could be your willingness to stay up late with your best friend to put their mind to rest, or it could be the fuzzy feeling you get when your pet endearingly presses its head into your hand.

I don’t know what love is to me. I’d like to say that love is the north star, taking your hand and guiding you from the darkness. That love is the action of soothing a damaged heart and mind. Love is cuddles on a winter day, when you thrive on each other’s warmth, not only physically, but emotionally. Love is the enthusiasm you show for their every choice and every accomplishment, but it’s also the courage to say what they might not want to hear. Love is your acceptance that sometimes you might argue, and you won’t wish to talk to each other for awhile, but you will always, always forgive each other in due time.

Love is your realization that their radiance comes with shadows, but you don’t care because to you, they’re a utopian goddess. You’ll pick them apart, but put them back together just the same, because they’re flawless. This is the way you like them. This is the way you love them.

Love is when you so much as talk about the feeling, and your chest feels like it might burst and tears run down your face because god, you love them so much.

But most all, love is not perfect. You’ll scream, and you’ll cry, and you’ll wish so dearly to say goodbye. Don’t ever say goodbye. The sun is always brightest after the storm. What’s broken is always rebuilt stronger.

I would like to say this is love is. I’d like to, but I am still inexperienced in love, still learning, and one day this idea of love that I have, it might change. We’ll have to wait and see. I hope, if it does change, it’ll be something even better.”

what does love mean to them? [/i] "The first time I fell in love I didn't really know how to feel. Up until my junior year I hadn't been too interested in dating anyone. Sure I guess I had looks, but school came before anything. The only way I'd be getting though college was through scholarships, and I fully intended to be the first member of my family to attended college. Of course it was quite the shocker when I found out I was hardly passing chemistry. Straight As with one D, I'm not even sure how that happened. I spoke to my teacher about bringing my grade up and he suggested a tutor. He said he knew the brightest kid in the class who would be willing to help me. That was great news. Or at least it was until he told me who it was. Erica was one of the biggest delinquents in the school, how could she have the best grade in class? I was seething, internally of course. WIP
