the delicate shifting of an ethereal plane is the place to be, when it comes to dream worlds. hana has tried so many things to beat it- astral projection, lucid dreaming, et cetera... but nothing quite compares. there's a line somewhere where reality blurs into fantasy that just works out for her to dream of. she thinks of it as one place, the dream world- though every time she takes her eyes off of something, it will morph, change. it's surrealism, but no one ever said surrealism wasn't beautiful in its own way.
there's still a flow- these changes are never accidental, or random. she knows they mean something, but trying to figure it out is half the fun. though floating over an infinite plain is exhilarating the first few times, closing your eyes and turning to see the fire you're racing away from engulf all that behind you only gives you more reason to forge on. that way it means something to find the sparkling oasis to douse the flames, or the infinitely steep cliff at the edge of the universe to remind you that life is not always so kind. reality is rarely so heavy-handed in its metaphors.
sleeping is a harmless but addicting drug for those who find happiness in the randomness of their own minds.
she takes a step forward into the dark void in front of her, unsure but unafraid. an expanse of infinite stars expands beneath her feet, each shining as if beckoning. but she keeps walking, gaze slowly tracing its way down an invisible path. what realm will she explore today? really, it doesn't matter which one she picks- she's aware she will never see them all. but still, the thought of what each could possibly contain intrigues her more than anything else. and each, like the earth she lives on, shifts so rapidly- she could never hope to keep up with even a single world in the plane to the point of understanding it.
so why stay awake and just limit herself to the one?
