Ocean mist sprays in the night, waves lap the beach, it is silent, nothing to be heard nor seen. Deep in the ocean there is light, but it is used for luring in food, a young creature closely observes her mother luring in food. Only seconds later the mother's jaw snaps shut on a large fish. She brushes past her young child and the child follows closely. Their destination, a massive underwater empire. All ruled by greenish-blue creatures. The young child stands out, in a swarm of green and blue she is pinks and purples. She is unusually covered in thick fur and has long hair. She is most definitely unique.
Today is her big day, she will go to the trench with her mother and finally prove she can catch her own fish. She spends several minutes finding the perfect spot to fish and stays perfectly still. Her mother is in a ocean cave about 5 yards away and can see perfectly with her night vision. A few hours pass with no fish and right as she is about to give up a massive school of deep sea fish approach. Never have seeing this before her instincts tell her to chase the fish, but her wits tell her no. Her instincts finally take over and she races toward the fish, only getting one. All of the fish split up and speed out of view. When she turns around she sees what was spooking the fish
The biggest shark she had ever seen float in front of her it isn't very happy. Being the stubborn child she is she doesn't give the shark her fish but attempts to scare it away by hitting it across the nose with her powerful tail. She is very young so this only angers the shark. The massive shark opens it's mouth and lunges only to be hit with a very powerful blow. Destiny opens her eyes as her mother is in front of her fighting. Destiny, startled and shaken decides to make a swim for it hurries to the empire she calls home but before she gets there and the shark delivers the final blow her mum launches in front of her and takes the blow for her.
Destiny wakes up in the infirmary of her village with minor cuts and bruises. Her father appears and the first question she asks is "Where is mum?" She is answered by a shake of the head and tears and her heart sinks to her tail.
Many Years Later
Today is her special day, she will become ruler of her empire, she will avenge her mother, and make war against the sharks.
This, always was and will always be, her Destiny.

-used to have a normal life, one day her family & friends went to the beach as a little vacation and they were swimming and they drowned, their family/friends not noticing, but they were conscious the whole time, her body was dragged further into the ocean and they finally fainted and woke up in a underwater cove with a mermaid tail and really cant remember anything but does have flashbacks to their 'previous life' but doesn't know it was them, instead thinks that the person [them] in the flashbacks is the person coming to save them and waits for eternity for them to come

-theyre necklace is their source of living underwater if they take it off they can breath underwater or on land, so taking off the necklace is basically a death trap + they're parents gave them the necklace but they dont know but they feel like its very important

- tries to drag other kalons under to keep them company but doesnt know that they cant breathe underwater [basically no knowledge of the diffrence of sea and land]
