Why it has the Dream catcher;
Ilayda is a free spirit. Doing as she pleases. However , she wasn't always like this - she was brought up in a strict family of high standards. Being the youngest she was always looked down upon and in their eyes : she never did anything right. So she spent years up in her room afraid to make a mistake by showing her face. Her dream was to leave, to see beyond her four bedroom walls and be her own judge. When Ilayda was granted permission to travel by her father , she was ecstatic. Where ever she was , ilayda bought feathers , satins , strings. Slowly she crafted her first dream catcher and then continued on and on. Her eyes would sparkle whenever she came across premade dream catchers , and she would buy the really unique ones , so she can learn to make them later on. She keeps her first dream catcher in her hair because it represents her break from the hierarchy - her freedom and dream - unbound by the pressures of living as an elite.

✦Why it has the Dream catcher✦
As said in her personality, Soña is very dreamy. She gets lost easiely in her daydreams. The dream catcher was a gift from her grandma, who was said to be a dream reader. She always knew that Soña was a dreamer, and so she made this dream catcher, to protect her granddaughter from any dangers she might meet in her daydreams and to always show her the way back into reality. The inner part of the dream catcher is made of yarn that keeps away dark creatures. The outer part has one hair of Soña worked into, to be the connection to reality. And the feather is ment to build a bridge between dream and reality, so Soña can always "fly" into her dreams. Thats at least what her grandmother told little Soña when gifting the dreamcatcher.
Since Soña is quite superstitious, she belives this story and will never go anywhere without her dreamcatcher. To never get lost in all her daydreams. To always have a way back. And to always remind her of her grandma.
