Kiamara name: Menari- " Me" or 目 , Japanese for eye and "nari" なり ,from kaminari 雷 meaning "thunder" and in grammar "as soon as", referencing a strange or unusual event. I chose this name because of his beautiful, unique eyes and my story for why he keeps them closed- Menari was born with a rare mutation with huge pupils that fused to his sclera, causing for the appearance of uniform jet black eyes. Because his pupils are constantly dilated to an extreme degree, he is hypersensitive to light. When he first opened his eyes after birth, his parents were dismayed at his tiny yelps of pain, and did not understand his condition until he was a little older, when they witnessed him recoil from any bright lights. They named him Menari for his eyes as his most unique feature, and a quirk he developed- associating thunder with the blinding white crack of lightning after it, the thunder during storms quickly became his favorite sound and he uses it as a warning when to cover his eyes. He is always listening for it in the distance.

Details about his eyes: Because of this mutation, opening his eyes even in low, shaded lighting can cause him extreme discomfort and disorientation, even temporary blindness. The space between his closed eyelids is just enough to allow the tiniest amount of light without much pain, and his vision is superior in this regard- he can actually see through his eyelids and with enough definition to recognize other Kiamara and objects in front of him, though his perception of color is off, and his ability to see distinct small shapes like letters is not very good at all. When it is bright outside, or in a room, he will instinctively shake his head so his fur covers his eyes as added protection.

Personality: Menari is very laid back and quiet among others, preferring to listen to them, though he rarely gives indication that he is. He is very aware of other kias perception of him: from a young age, other kias have been unnerved by him due to his constantly closed eyes, and terrified by his ability to see even though they are closed, thinking of him as creepy. Others also assumed he was not very bright due to his inability to read, and his tendency not to speak in front of others- so he has become reserved and cautious when he meets someone, due to his dislike and fear of being judged. Deep down he is actually a very compassionate, friendly Kia with a sarcastic sense of humor, but few will ever see this unless he truly trusts them.

Personality:
Clyde is very vain. He often frets over his appearance, and spends a great deal of time and effort on it as well. He actually dedicated an hour of his morning to make sure he looks the best he possibly can for the day. Clyde takes a lot of pride in his looks.

Clyde likes to see himself as being much more "sophisticated" and "upper class" than others. Thus giving him a lofty and somewhat snobbish aura.

He can be rather rude at times, but surprisingly Clyde is rather kind a majority of the time.

Clyde is very formal and usually refers to everyone as "Sir" or "Madame, and seems to use the word "darling" quite a bit.

Clyde has an artistic side to him. He loves art and paintings. He could spend hours admiring art work. He normally attends as many art exhibitions as he possibly can fit into his busy schedule. Occasionally in some of his spare time, he paints. Clyde always paints with his eyes closed, then when he's finished, he'll open his eyes to look at his painting for a little while.
He also loves music. Especially classical music.

Clyde is a bit of a social butterfly. He loves attending any sort of social gatherings and just chit-chatting with anyone there.

Clyde works as a hairstylist at a salon, which he also owns and runs. He always makes sure everything is neatly organized. If its not, he gets rather agitated.
No one is exactly sure how he can style hair so well with his eyes closed.

After a long day of hard work at the salon, Clyde enjoying going home to his apartment and flopping down on the sofa with a nice hot cup of tea to watch (Well, more like listen to) some old movies from the 50s and such. His favorite movie would be Singing in the Rain. For some reason he just really loves it. Clyde often hums songs from it as he works away at the salon.

Eyes:
Ever since Clyde was a little kia, he was always very self-conscious his eyes. Unlike everyone else he didn't have "beautiful, blue eyes" or "gorgeous, green eyes". His eyes were pitch black. Clyde absolutely hated his eyes. Some made fun of him and others would run away and avoid him.
Not only was Clyde self-conscious about his eyes, but they were also a little sensitive to light. Not enough to cause his retinas to burst into flames or anything huge like that, but just enough to where it gave him mild headaches frequently.
He would sometimes suffer from throbbing headaches without knowing the exact cause, until one day he realized it was the light causing them.
After a while, Clyde decided to experiment and keep his eyes closed for a whole day. He thought that it would help stop his headaches and possibly stop the other kias from mocking him. And sure enough, it worked! From that day on Clyde decided he would keep his eyes closed almost all the time, unless he needed or just wanted to look at something.

Marcel is a very bright kind of person in the inside, but because he doesn't
show much of his kindness and jauntiness in front of others, he is often
misjudged by them. He is one of these guys who will always try to make you
feel confortable around him. When you are at his house he'll most likely give you
a cup of hot chocolate, throw a blanked around your shoulders and press you a Xbox
controller in the other paw. He loves his few friends from the deeps of his heart.
When Marcel feels safe around you and is sure that you won't judge him by anything
he does, he'll may throw some odd jokes at you and legally burry you under
embarrassing friend hugs and storys about his favourite video game characters.

Sometimes he talks to himself or even starts discussions in his mind he could have

held with others. He is rather childish for a young adult at his age but he doesn't care
much about it because in the end, he doesn't show any of it in front of others anyway.
In front of strangers he appears as a very silent kind of guy with a locked up heart, it
isn't easy for a strager to see the real Marcel by just talking to him a few times.
He only trusts others enough to show of his real self when they spend a lot of time
with him. Sometimes he has a phase he calls "his five minutes" where he acts way of
his normal personality, he acts really turned up, almost crazy and talks without end.
How is already says, his five minutes only last for a sort time and he will apologize
as soon as he notices that he got way out of self control. Overall he is a silent kind
of guy until you learn to know him, it is easy to become his friend as long as you are
nice to him and let him be the chaotic, funny and cute guy he is and wants to be.

His biggest hobby is straight of playing video games, any kind of
video games except of puzzle games! Even though he is quiet an
intelligent guy he's not fond of puzzle or intelligent games because
they remind him of school and it always feels like the game wants
to test him and blame him if he loses. His favourite type of games
are RPGs because he can jump into an other world as soon as he
takes the controller in his paws. Marcel owns all kinds of video game
consoles, mostly from Nintendo and Microsoft but he also enjoys
playing with the older ones from Sega. He prefers handheld

consoles though because he loves to carry them around and being able

to play whenever he wants. His favourite nintendo games are
the zelda series, pokemon, animal crossing and he even plays nintendogs
sometimes but his biggest passion still lays in online RPGs.
In his free time you'll most likely find him sitting on his couch
and playing the newest games.

watching tv and let's plays

One of Marcels few hobbies is also the watching of interesting,
most game related content. Besides regular TV and let's plays,
he also has discovered a passion for watching anime. His favorite

animes are Sword art online, Death note and Detective conan.

As you may already noticed he als has a huge interest in detective stories,
even though he doesn't like playing puzzle-like games by himself
because they annoy and bore him, he likes to see others solve
the problems. You'll find him often sitting in front of the TV in
the evening before he is going to sleep because it is his kind of
lullaby where he can just relax and watch things happening without
him having to do anything for a change. He is seeing it as a hobby
because he actively does it every evening, almost like a ritual.
But dare you telling him what to watch because he hates it when
others tell him what he has to watch when he is together with them.

programming

Programming is one of his biggest hobbies as well as his job.
Marcel is currently working on a projekt for the special programmer
school he is visiting. His dream is it to become a famous programmer
and game designer and inspire the world with his own creations.
He is planning on programming some kind of video game one day with a fantastic
over-world, where you can fight against others, train your own little creatures
and where you can choose where to go all on your own.
Where you are not longer bound on levels or play progressive, just where
you can basically do whatever you want and compete the game on your very own way.
So far, this is nothing more than a dream to him though because he is a just a

programmer student with a lack of experience. But he wants to change that

by visiting the programmer school. But of course he also counts programming
to one of his hobbies because he is already programming single game parts,
web sides and even his own small flash games in his free time. He first
found out about this new hobby as he was playing an online game with a
friend and they were talking about how the game was made, as Marcel got
the brilliant idea to make a game like this, or even greater, by himself.
Of cause his friend laughed at this dumb idea but Marcel was convinced of
himself that he was able to do this one day. Since then his obsession with
programming even grew more and more.

sleeping

Actually you couldn't consider sleeping a real hobby but in Marco's case it
is a little different. When he has no idea what to do or no movitation to do
anything else he is just going to sleep, maby it is not even the sleeping itself
what is so appealing to him but the dream-like state right before falling asleap
or waking up and laying in bed. It's just chilly and clears his mind so he can
continue working on other stuff again.


★ Interests: ★

His interests lay mostly in digital stuff, how already said above.

Most of his interests have to do something with his hobbys.
But he is also interested in things that aren't part of his own hobbys because
he isn't simply talented and motivated enough to work on those things by himself.
Animations for example, he loves to watch animations that were done by others.
That can include official series but also fan animations of all kind, he just
loves it to see smooth animations that give the characters emotion and movement
to make them look real. That is why he als really enjoys animated cut scenes in
video games. When the video games has great animated cut scenes, he already
likes it, no matter how crappy the gameplay may be. He himself can't animate though.
Also one of those things is gardening, he loves plants and green in his house,
as well as pets but he doesn't have time for any kind of big pet like a dog or a cat

but he thought about buying himself a small parrot once. A little company is

never wrong right? well, for Marco it didn't went really well. In the end he
dismiss this idea because he noticed that he wouldn't have the time or the
responsibility awareness to take care of a pet. He can even barely keep his plants
alive because he always forgets to water them, so when he remembers it he always
runs straight to the watering can and starts to water all his plants, from the top of
the balcony to the ground of the last floor. He just can't prevent himself from buying
plants when he sees them in the supermarket, you may call it abusiv but he really
tries to care for them. Sometimes he even speaks to his plants like they were
his friends and apologizes when he forgot them again. He even gives them
names and decorates them sometimes, this for example is bery:

★ Fears: ★

Marcel is terribly afraid of ghosts and other supernatural
beings that are born in his imagination. Even though he
knows that they aren't real, he is afraid of them though
because maybe they are real and just nobody has discovered
them yet? So he is one of those people that are starting to run
as fast as they can as soon as they switch off the light on the
other side of the room, then jumps in his bed and crawls
under his bed cover. He isn't afraid of the dark in general
because he has his eyes closed most of the time, he already
learned to deal with this but as soon as he opens then he wants

to see light and panics when he is still in black darkness.

Because of this he tents to keep a nightlight in his room
so that he dosen't have to switch on the light as soon as he
wakes up to make sure not to get scared by the dark.
As soon as he is in his bed though, he feels safe and will fall
asleep very soon. He isn't that fond of horror games that are
about weird creatures or supernatural beings in general because
of his colourful imagination that leads him to get nightmares of it.
Even though plain jumpscare games, like five nights at freddy's
for example are alright for him.

One of Marcel's awful habits is the chewing on his claws.
He often does that when he is nervous or bored and has been
told by his friends to stop that several times already.
It is very difficult for him to stop though because he is already used to
take it as a normal thing. Another habit that is less annoying to others though,
is the wearing of socks all the time. Marcel easily gets in a bad mood when
his feet are cold, due to this he wears socks almost constantly. He even wears
them to sleep and sometimes he even loses them because he is a very restless
sleeper who twists and turns almost constantly while sleeping. So of course it can

happen that he loses one or both of his socks and when he stands up in the morning

he almost disassemble his whole bed while searching his fluffy feet warmers.
He is not very good at saving up either, as soon as he has some money on his paws
he immediately spend them on either food or video games! "On, a new sonic game?" buy it!
"Oh this melon looks very delicious!" buy it! And so it can continue till he runs out of money.
Marcel's memory isn't really the best when it is all about remembering important
things but when he has to remember a surtent area or action in a video game it is
much easier for him. Eventhough when he still dosen't come to
the solution he often puts his left paw in his hair,
plays with his lips with the right one and sits
down to concentrate. He says it would help him
concentrate better this way.

★ General wardrobe: ★

Marcel likes to wear baggy clothers most of the time. He loves
fluffy hoodies and beanies, the only thing he dosen't really like to wear are scarfes,
since he already has neckfluff he feels unconfortable with additional clothing around his neck.
When he goes outside he often wears any kind of hat and a dark green, long coat.
In summer he rather likes to wear checked shirts in grey, black, white or dark blue.
He would love to costplay one of his favourite videocharacters for once but
he hasn't enough money to buy a outfit and is too untalented to make one by himself.
Generally he has a very hipster-like style, he even loves to wear glasses even
though he dosen't even need them since he rarely openes his eyes anyway.

★ Dreams /goals in live: ★

Besides the already mementiond dream of wanting to become a
famous and beloved programmer, he also dreams of finding his
true love. He never really bothered to seach for someone intensetivly
because he thinks, that when the time is right, the'll find each other all on their own.
He dosen't really has an idea of an ideal partner they should just be funny, nice and
of course, honest. Sometimes he dreams of walking hand in hand together with the
loved person over hills and valleys, through corn- and flowerfields but in the end
these are just dreams with no particular meaning to him. One of Marcel's few goals
in life is extending his collection of video games till his gaming room is full of shelves

with his precious games. Besides video games he also collects figures of his favourite

characters and other general fan merchandise like artbooks, keychains and other.

★ Why don't you open your eyes, little boy? ★

Marcels eyes are a mystery by themselves. He rarely opens them and even when he does,
he makes sure that no one is around while he has them open. This all leads back to a story
that started as Marcel was just a little puppy. Marcel was born, damned to all eternity
you could say, with these pure black eyes. The other kids avoided him when he wanted to
play with them, they where scared and even disgusted by him and his "demon eyes"
how the called them. Marcel wasn't a sad child, he had a caring mother and a proud father who
would do anything for their little angel, but something was missing. He never had any
friends to play with in kindergarten so he lived his life within the world of video games,
where his friends won't judge him by his looks, they would always be there for him and

he could always come back to them when he is sad. His very first game was an old

sonic game he got for christmas, together with the fitting consol. After that day he spend
almost all of his free time in front of the controller, exploring the world of sonic and
his friends and forgetting about the live outside of the video games. His parents noticed that
he spend way too much time on the controller and where afraid he could get addicted,
so they send him outside to play with the other kids almost every day. But Marcel was afraid
everytime he went to the other kids, that they could just run away again, so he shut his eyes
every time he tried to talk to the other kids to prevent them from the fear. It worked out quiet well.
Marcel soon learned how to orientate even without using his eyes, but with
his sensitive ears that can hear every sound almost like the ears of a bat.
After that if was easier for him to find new friends and he came to the decision
to never open his eyes in public and generally in front of others ever again.

The only time he opens his eyes till this day is when he is either

playing video games, he is reading or shortly after he wakes up
from sleep. He kept this resolve till today and barely one or two
of his friends have ever seen him opening his eyes.

★ Afterword: ★

The very last thing I wanted to write into this form is, that I am very lucky that
I got the chance to participate in this contest. As soon as I saw this
lovely kiramara I was sure that this has to be my dream kira! I love fluffy characters and
the colours fit him just so perfect, I can't stop drawing him! Sadly I didn't had much time
during december so I didn't had the chance to finish my form back then and I am
very grateful that this contest got extenet, what gave me the very last chance to
give my best and complete this form! I apologize for all my gramma and
spelling mistakes but I am just in the phase of learning the english language and
I tried my best to make my texts understandable, thank you for understanding ♥
