Tomotu wrote:Running. That's all he seemed to know how to do these days.
The oddly colored Bean darted through the brush and thicket, claws digging into the soft dirt underneath him. His breath was heavy and shallow, each gasp coming out in small, lifeless pants.
He once was normal. A long time ago.
Tomotu was once the child prodigy, one everyone wanted to be like. They liked him. He helped the other young Beans with their work, and overall was a good child.
Now, he was a freak.
Tomotu knew that going to that science center could be dangerous. I mean, it came up out of the blue, and he'd never heard of this company. "EBL Co.", it was called. He didn't know what "EBL" stood for, and frankly, did not care. It was a free trip to the science center. How bad could it possibly be?
They hurt him.
Tomotu had sensed the danger from the moment he stepped inside. He didn't like the atmosphere of this place; not one bit. He knew, that from the way everyone was eying him, that he was in trouble.
But he stayed.
He remembered what had happened next so clearly, as if it were a dream he had just awoken from, a dream he could never forget. In a sense, it was exactly that. But this dream was a nightmare. One he couldn't get out of, even if he'd tried.
Tomotu darted past the men in the white coats, his cheeks streaked with tears. The young Bean kept running. Run, run, run, right through the corridor, barreling past the guards... He was almost to the exit when it happened.
A grey, monochromatic Bean appeared a little ways in front of him. Tomotu was going too fast to stop. He didn't notice the gun being pulled out of the monochrome Bean's pouch - he was too busy running. But when he saw the barrel of the loaded .22 caliber handgun pointed directly at him, it was too late.
BANG.
Tomotu screamed with pain as the bullet pierced his eye, collapsing and writhing in pain on the floor. He was not dead, thank God, but he was down for the count. He couldn't even resist the guards as they picked him up by his forelegs and dragged him away; he was too busy trying to grasp at his eye. "GET IT OUT! GET IT OUT!!!"

Tomotu stopped behind a tree and started making a scrubbing motion with his paw. This was how he was taught to get rid of bad memories - to imagine scrubbing them away with Windex and a towel. But the memory was still fresh in his mind. It lingered there for a few minutes, until Tomotu couldn't take it anymore. With a frustrated, agonizing scream, he collapsed, tears streaming down his cheek. The left one only. The right eye had been damaged beyond repair; it could not cry anymore.

Kidd wrote:The young Bean padded through the forest quietly, not a peep out of him. The wildlife screamed, wind howling, birds singing, trying to coax the boy's voice out of him. Their attempts proved futile.
Kidd had spoken only once before in his life - when his friend, Faebell, was in danger, thanks to another Bean who had tried claiming them both as pets, for some odd reason. He spoke quickly, lowly - his voice was like that of a lion's growl.
He hadn't spoken since. His parents were dismayed, and tried constantly to get their youngest son to speak. But they couldn't get a single sound out of him - well, unless you counted the little rapping of his knuckles that he did when he wanted to communicate with his parents. Kidd only "spoke" in Morse Code - he'd never spoken unless it was to scold someone.
Kidd Vireo walked slowly along the gravelly trail, paw pads getting pricked with pebbles. He looked down at the little rocks with solemn purple eyes, continuing to walk. He never once took his eyes off the trail...
...That is, until he heard voices up ahead.
Kidd's ears pricked up, and he padded towards the voices. He poked his head through the brush to see three Beans - a black and white one, a brown one, and a purple one - speaking loudly amongst themselves. They all wore white coats, and looked rather aggravated.
Kidd tilted his head to the side and placed a hesitant paw out, quickly withdrawing it when the purple Bean's eyes shot over to see the movement. The older Bean advanced towards Kidd quickly, and although he was only a little bit bigger than the grey Bean, he was still big enough to frighten the younger. The violet Bean's eyes scanned over Kidd curiously, like a hawk's. When the teen was deemed safe, the older Bean let out a "hmph" and sat down abruptly. "What is your name, child, and what are you doing here?"
Kidd was now a bit nervous. How would he talk to these Beans? He was mute, for crying out loud! He wasn't going to just randomly open up to a stranger, of all Beans!
The purple Bean was getting irritated. "Your name, child! What is your name?!"
Kidd flattened his ears to the top of his head. If there was one thing he hated more than talking, it was yelling. He didn't know why, but ever since he was a child, when older Beans screamed or yelled at him, he grew scared and began to wail like a baby. And the same effect started occurring now - Kidd felt the sting of tears pricking at the corners of his violet eyes.
The older Bean growled in frustration, turning around and lashing his tail angrily. "Well if you're just going to stand there like an idiot, you might as well help us, child. Have you seen an orange and purple Bean? One with a blue eye?"
Kidd raised a brow curiously and shook his head. The older Bean sighed.
"Figured as much. That idiot ran away before we could finish the experiment..."
Experiment? What were these strange Beans talking about? Kidd didn't know, but what he did know was that whatever they were talking about, it was most likely to be dangerous. But he had an odd feeling that if he tried to leave, they'd give chase.
He wasn't supposed to see what they were doing, and they weren't about to let him leave.

Tomotu wrote:The Bean was tired. Tired of this running, tired of the constant cycle he was trapped in. He'd run, they'd catch him, experiment on him some more, repeat. Tomotu hated it with a burning passion - it was terrifying. He didn't like being scared. He wanted to be brave - hell, he just wanted to go back to his normal life! But it seemed these Beans wouldn't let him...
Suddenly, he heard voices. Tomotu immediately squeaked and ducked down, peering out just in time to see the purple Bean - his captor, who went by the name of Reginald - stalking towards an abnormally large, teen Bean. This child was grey.
Grey. Grey. Grey.
The images from Tomotu's mind immediately flooded back to him, and he felt tears threaten to spill over again. No, no, NO! They were here to take him back! He didn't want to go back! He wouldn't go back! Tomotu backed away quickly, preparing to bolt again.
Big mistake.
A bramble snagged his paw, and with a screeching yelp, he stumbled to the ground. Tomotu's breath caught in his throat as he squeezed his eyes shut. No, no, no, no, NO. Please, no, not this again...
But it was too late. Soon, he felt the cold, steel barrel of a .25 caliber pressed to his temple, and heard the gruff, familiar voice of the brown Bean - Arnold. "Get up."
He was caught.

Kidd wrote:Kidd heard the scream and jumped, turning towards the brush, eyes widened. He saw the brown Bean rush over, pulling a pistol out of his pouch and aiming it for the bush. The Bean quickly spoke, his voice low and angered - "Get up."
The teen watched as an orange and purple Bean stood slowly, head hung low. So this was who they were looking for... Why did they want him, though? There didn't seem to be anything special about this Bean...
Kidd watched as the two made their way to the small group, the brown Bean holding the gun to the back of his captive's head. The teen peered over the purple Bean's shoulder as he walked quickly towards the orange Bean, glowering hatefully.
Suddenly, it happened. The purple Bean's paw flung upwards, and struck the orange Bean in the side of the face. The orange Bean screamed out in pain, staggering back slightly, but not before the brown Bean shoved him forward roughly again. "STAY!" the brown Bean hissed. The orange Bean had no choice but to stand where he was.
The purple Bean sneered at the trembling one. "So, thought you could escape from us, eh, Tommy boy?" he snarled. Kidd took note how the orange Bean twitched at the nickname, but the purple Bean didn't seem to notice. "Well, what do you have to say for yourself this time?"
The orange Bean didn't speak.
"Tom," the purple one said.
Silence.
"Tom..." the purple Bean repeated, eyes narrowed.
You could hear a pin drop.
"TOM!!!" the purple Bean struck again, this time with enough force to knock this "Tom" off his paws. Immediately he fell to the ground, crying out in pain. The brown Bean kicked him roughly in the side, causing Tom to scream once more.
The purple Bean leaned down beside Tom and growled in his ear, "You will respond when I speak to you, do you understand me, you VERMIN?!"
"Yes, yes, yes!" Tom wailed, standing shakily. "I-I understand! Please, don't-"
The purple Bean smacked Tom again. "Stop crying! I've heard enough of your crap. We're taking you back, and that's final."
Kidd bit his lip and watched as Tom nodded solemnly, beginning to walk away with these... These monsters. If there was one thing Kidd knew, it was that people who hurt others were bad. People who stood there and watched were worse.
Kidd was not a bad person.

Tomotu wrote:Tomotu sniffled pathetically as he began to walk away with these other Beans, looking down quietly. He thought to look back at the grey Bean, who had just watched him get verbally and physically abused, but decided against it. Reginald might hit him again...
Suddenly, the black and white Bean - John - was tackled to the ground by a large figure. John cried out in surprise, beginning to scream when the figure began hitting him repeatedly. Reginald and Arnold tore their eyes away from Tomotu for a split second.
That second was all Tomotu needed.
Immediately, he broke away from the two Beans and bolted. He heard Reginald scream - "Stop him, you idiot!" - before another scream pierced through the air. Tomotu looked back to see a surprising sight.
The grey teen - the one who had watched him get hurt - was sitting atop John, slashing and biting at him ferociously. Reginald tried to reach over and pry him off the black and white Bean - big mistake. The purple Bean only ended up quickly retracting his paw, cursing in pain as the teenager bit him.
Tomotu was confused. Why was this kid helping him? Why did he care? He thought to keep running - obviously, the teenager would be overpowered and most likely killed - but he couldn't bring himself to do it.
He was not a bad person.

Kidd wrote:Kidd couldn't stand these men. Hurting other Beans for the sake of "science"? He hardly called this science! The grey Bean snarled at ripped at the black and white elder underneath him, who was screaming in pain. The brown Bean tried to get him off, but Kidd turned his attention towards him instead. The younger leaped at him, the force of his weight easily bringing the brown Bean down. He felt claws rake across his back, and turned to see the purple Bean joining in on the fight.
Kidd was outnumbered. He staggered across the path dazedly, which gave the three enough time to tackle him. Soon, he was in a ball of claws, teeth, and fury. Kidd screamed - the only sound he could make - as he felt claws slash his cheek. It was all over. He was going to die.
At least, that's what he thought.
Not even five seconds after Kidd had given up, the weight of the Beans was taken off of him. The grey Bean cracked an eye open to see the orange and purple Bean pinning the purple Bean down, biting and tearing into him. Kidd blinked and stood, lunging for the brown Bean as he tried to take down Tom. He didn't like these men, and he knew Tom didn't either.
Together, the two fought against the trio, and at one point, it seemed that luck was shining in their favor. The brown Bean was on the ground, writhing in pain. It was obvious that, from his wounds, he would die soon without medical attention. Now the odds were evened out - Tom against the purple Bean, and Kidd against the black and white Bean.
But Fate had a different idea.
Immediately, the black and white Bean whipped out his gun again, aiming it directly for Tom. Kidd lunged to knock him out of the way, but it was too late.
BANG.

Tomotu wrote:The bullet penetrated his side almost immediately after the trigger was pulled. Tomotu collapsed to the ground, screaming as Reginald smirked down at him. "Game over, Tommy boy," he cackled, grabbing Tomotu roughly by the foreleg and beginning to drag him off. But that kid was persistent.
The grey Bean slammed into Reginald's side, knocking the elder off-balance. Reginald screamed as the kid tore into him once more, yelling, "Get him off me! GET HIM OFF!!"
John pulled out his gun once more and aimed it steadily at the grey Bean. He fired, but the kid seemed well aware of this. In fact, it was almost as if he planned for this to happen.
As soon as the trigger was squeezed, the teen jumped off of Reginald and darted out of the way, leaving the purple Bean in the line of fire. It worked like a charm; Reginald was shot in the shoulder.
Reginald yowled in pain, clutching his bleeding shoulder tenderly. "You IDIOT," he snarled towards John, "you were supposed to shoot THEM, not me!!"
John's eyes widened and immediately he rushed to his boss's side. "Sorry, sorry!" he repeated, examining the wounds quickly, wondering what to do.
Tomotu stared as the kid quickly and quietly grabbed him by his foreleg, silently willing him to keep his mouth shut. The older Bean happily complied, and like a thief in the night, the two slipped off into the darkness.

Kidd wrote:Kidd quickly helped Tom up and together, the two escaped without a word. Being careful of his new friend's injury, he ushered him on and they were soon out of the clearing, far away from the bad men. The teenager sighed in relief before turning towards Tom, who had his head down. Kidd blinked and reached towards his injured side, trying to see how bad the damage was.
Tom squeaked and jumped back, eyes squeezed shut. Kidd blinked and motioned towards the injury. Tom's left eye cracked open slightly, and he nodded quickly. "I know, I know, I'm hurt," he muttered. "I'll be fine. Look, just - just get me to a hospital, or to the police, okay kid? Then I'll be out of your hair."
Kidd tilted his head and advanced towards Tom, reaching a paw up to him. Tom gasped and took two steps back, turning his head away. "D-don't come any closer!"
This tango went on for a while - one step forward making two steps back, my oh my. Finally, it ended with Tom's backside hitting a tree. He was cornered. The elder gasped and looked towards Kidd, his right eye still closed. "A-alright, fine! W-what do you want, kid?"
Kidd smiled kindly and held out a paw, waiting expectantly. Tom looked at the outstretched paw and blinked, not opening his right eye for the life of him. "...Alright, I'll bite. What are you doing?"
Kidd just smiled and waved his paw up and down, eyes hopeful. Finally, Tom seemed to understand. The older Bean gently took Kidd's paw into his own bigger one and shook it hesitantly.

Tomotu wrote:"...It's nice to meet you, kid," Tomotu said softly. He looked at the younger curiously - why wasn't he speaking? This was kinda getting weird...
"Erm, I'm Tomotu, in case you were wondering," he continued. "What's your name?"
The kid smiled and pointed at himself.
"Yes, what's your name, kid?"
The grey Bean nodded, pointing at Tomotu.
"..." Okay, what was WRONG with this kid?! Tomotu's right eye twitched, and he sighed heavily. "Yes, I'm Tomotu. But what's YOUR name?"
The kid still wouldn't speak. Instead, he made a motion, pointing towards Tomotu again. His eyes held a childlike hope.
By this time, Tomotu was growing irritated. "Yes, kid, what's your-"
The kid clapped his paws together, pointing at Tomotu. The elder was about to snap when it suddenly dawned on him: "Ohhhh... Your name is Kidd, isn't it?"

Kidd wrote:Kidd nodded happily, clapping his paws excitedly. Tomotu smiled lightly and chuckled. "Well, it's nice to meet you, Kidd. I just got one question, though - why'd you help me?"
Kidd blinked and rolled his shoulders back in a shrug. He had an answer - it was just that playing charades with this man seemed like a waste of time. After all, he WAS wounded...
...Wait a minute. The wound! He forgot about the wound!
Kidd's eyes widened and he immediately rushed towards Tomotu, who yelped in surprise at the younger's sudden advancement. Kidd held up his foreleg and looked at the bullet wound, examining it carefully. The blood seemed to be clotted, but he saw the bullet wedged in there. It looked pretty deep...
Kidd looked up at Tomotu, who was staring at him awkwardly. "Uhm... What are you doing?"
The teen pointed at the bullet wound and frantically pulled Tomotu away, ushering him towards the edge of the forest. They needed to get help! They needed help fast!

Tomotu wrote:When the younger started pulling Tomotu along like a rag doll, the elder was, to say the least, shocked. Was Kidd REALLY this concerned about him? He looked over to the younger and tilted his head, following him at a slow and steady pace. "Easy, Kidd," he chuckled lightly. "It's not that bad. I just need to see a doctor, and-"
Kidd turned around and looked at the wound again. He deadpanned at Tomotu before dragging him along again.
Tomotu sighed - obviously, this kid wasn't gonna let it go. He was clinging to Tomotu, which worried him. For starters, where were Kidd's parents? It was kind of late for this teen to be out... And secondly, what if he saw what Tomotu's right eye looked like? Would he run away, like the rest of them did?
Sooner than he'd have liked, the second worry became a reality.
Kidd turned around quietly, looking at Tomotu's face and blinking. Tomotu realized what he was staring at immediately and looked away. "Uhm...."
Kidd stood on his haunches, proving to be a little taller than Tomotu was, and placed his paws on the older's face. Tomotu pulled away quickly. "Kidd, knock it off."
But Kidd was persistent, as usual. He continued to try to get a good look at Tomotu's eyes before finally, the elder gave up. "Fine, you wanna see what my eye looks like?" he growled in frustration.
Kidd beamed and nodded eagerly, sitting down like a child about to hear a story. Tomotu sighed, closing his left eye solemnly before slowly opening both of them.

Kidd wrote:Kidd was, to say the least, surprised when he saw Tomotu's right eye. It was hardly an eye - more like a black, gaping hole with a white little dot in it. But he wasn't scared. Instead, Kidd tilted his head curiously and reached out to pet Tomotu's cheek. The elder winced, as if Kidd was going to strike him like that purple Bean did. But he slowly softened up as Kidd began to stroke his cheek, smiling. Tomotu blinked in surprised, and slowly reached up towards Kidd's paw. He grasped it lightly in his own, and looked directly in the younger's violet eyes. "You... You're not afraid of me?" he asked.
Kidd shook his head quickly, much to Tomotu's surprise. "But.. But why? Everyone's afraid of me. Why do you think those men were trying to-"
Kidd placed a paw to Tomotu's lips, smiling. He began to click - the only way he knew how to communicate. Tomotu blinked in surprise, but soon seemed to recognize the clicking as Morse Code. Now, hopefully, he could understand what Kidd was saying...

Tomotu wrote:Finally, Tomotu translated it successfully. "...Friend?" He blinked in surprise, maw slightly agape. "You... You consider me your friend?"
Kidd nodded eagerly, clicking happily. He bounced in circles around Tomotu before seeming to remember the bloodied wound. Immediately, Kidd's expression turned to that of worry again, and he began to drag Tomotu away once more.
But Tomotu's mind was elsewhere. A small smile formed on his lips. "Friend..." he whispered, the word rolling off his tongue quite nicely. "...That's right. I have a friend now."

I hope you know, Peace, that it's because of this RP that I have begun crack shipping these two. TOMOKIDD FOREVER//shotdead by Sheo

It was a long way from home, and the sound of rain seemed to blare in his ears. The beans all around him seemed to be tired and more like faceless passers by. At first his eyes just strayed over her colourful fur, but with a second glance, he noticed how she stood out from the rest. He began to push through the umbrellas until he managed to get relatively close to the bean. "H-hey!" He called to her, others looking around to see who was calling.

Chi had been sipping her mocha when she heard the voice. Like the other beans, she looked around, straining her vision to see who was who. She pulled her scarf tighter as she noticed the bean was shouting at her. Males... She thought, rolling her eyes. She walked forward, pushing through the other beans. As she approached him, she covered her one eye, pretending she had something in it. "You know you could have just walked forward, instead of shouting at me from a couple of miles away," She remarked, walking in time withe the acquaintance.

Geronimo was taken aback, rather hurt by the bean's sassy nature. "W-well, I didn't w-want to -ahem- surprise you," He said rather weakly, glancing away from her, a slight dust of blush on his muzzle. They awkwardly walked in silence for a few minutes before his curiosity peaked, "I-I was w-wondering from which f-family you come from," He said, nervously blowing on the little curl at the end of his hair, "I-It's just I h-haven't seen you a-around here..."

Chi Chai snorted at his excuse, rather amused by his stutter and amount of girly blushing. As the silence lingered, she sipped her mocha, glancing up at the dark clouds and wondering if she could get home before dark. "I... come from the Gordon family, I was adopted..." She said, looking away from the male bean, "Besides, I don't stay very close here, I would use a car if I had one..." She sighed and looked up again, pursing her lips and nearly turning her head fully to look at him, "Do you have a family?"

As the information landed in his ears, he suddenly became sheepish,"I'm sorry, I w-wouldn't have a-asked if it was like that..." He murmured, quietly wishing he didn't have such a big mouth. He perked his ears up at her question, a smile creeping onto his expression as he thought of his family, "Yes," He replied, making a note in his mind that he needed to visit his brother again. "So... w-where do you s-stay if it's not here?" He asked, glancing at the slightly smaller bean.

The rain was pelting down at the crowds now, as the two remained talking. She smiled rather softly, wondering how her sister was doing, "Don't worry 'bout it, I actually made the decision myself," She dropped the smiled and raised an eyebrow at his question, forgetting about her eye as she turned to look at him. "I live in- oh! Oh my," She turned away quickly, suddenly upset, "I'm sorry you had to see that..." She mumbled, looking away.

The answer peaked more questions, but he didn't ask more. As he looked at her eye, he gave a bit a of a jump, rather surprised by the condition of it. "O-oh gosh, are y-you alright?" He fretted, a stream of words fluttering out his mouth, worried that the bean was hurt.

His reaction made her become a lot more sour, "Yes, I'm fine!" She growled, looking away, "It's a condition that can't be healed, and I'm not proud for having it, but it's there..." She paused and sighed, "I should be going now, but before I leave, can I have your name?" She asked, "I'd rather call you by your name than just 'random guy shouting at me in the middle of the street."

Geronimo shrunk away from her harshness, but managed to remain calm. He didn't make a comment on her condition, but rather thought she was brave for not letting others treat her differently, "The name's Geronimo, and I don't want to be called that either, can I have your name?," He chuckled.

She smiled gently and began to walk away, the rain having softened to a light drizzle, "Chi Chai, and don't forget it!" She called over her shoulder, putting the mocha cup in the bin.

Name: Tomotu, but goes by Chat.
Gender: Female
Role play:
Tomotu lurked in the shadows with a playful grin dancing on her lips.
The sun was about to set, and the sky reflected the same colour as her fur. Soon, it would be dark and she couldn't wait for it to happen. If she was lucky enough, a bean would walk through this street. Her street.
    Her ears twitched as a faint sound began to grow louder by the second, and soon the source of the sound revealed itself;
A girl humming on a melody.
The purple-ish bean prepared herself by rasping her yellow claws towards a metal building, creating a sound which made a chill of exitement run down her spine.
She sneaked through the dark corners of the street with a quiet laughter of madness with her gaze locked at the bean, wondering how scared the girl was.

The girl looked around, searching the area with her bright violet eyes and a plush in her arms.
"Hello? Is someone there?" She said with a sweet voice.
    Tomotu was shocked.
Why wasn't she scared? Why wasn't those eyes full with tears and why didn't her body shake like leaf of fear?!

The shock transformed into a frustration hard to explain. The female shook her head. Now was not the time to lose focus.
"I will come and get you.." She continued with a raspy voice.
"Ohh, hide and seek? How fun! Okay, I'll count to ten" The girl said with excitement as she covered her eyes with the plush.
"I promise I won't look! And 'O' Kapi will guard me, just to be sure! 1... 2... 3..." The little bean continued and Tomotu froze.
    What the....?

She ran towards the bean and tackled her little body. She pressed forcefully the bean towards the ground with frustration.
    "WHY?"
    "Why what?" The bean giggled.
    "Why aren't you scared?!!!"
"Scared...? Why should I?" The bean tilted her head slightly in confusion.
    "Because...." Tomotu looked up. Why...?
"Because everyone is scared of me. Look at me, for globs sake! I look like a freak"
"I think you're beautiful. You remind me of the sunset!" The bean said, smiling. Tomotu met the beans gaze.
"Wha.. What? I beg your pardon?"
"Yeah! Do you mind get off of me? I think 'O' Kapi got hurt when you tackled me" The bean said and looked to the left. A plushie was lying there with it's face down. Shocked, Tomotu couldn't do anything but get off of the girl.

"Thanks" The bean said as she stood up and tottered towards the plushie. "Are you okay?" She asked the okapi plush and hugged it tightly.
"You need to apologize." The bean said with a serious voice and looked at Tomotu.
"Uhm... Sorry?" The purpleish bean stuttered.
"I am Niromi. This is 'O' Kapi. Do you wanna come with us? I think Nixie is worried and will probably wonder where I was. Can you please tell her that I was playing with you?"
    "Playing...?"
"Yeah, I really enjoyed it" Niromi giggled.
    "Oh.. Uhm.. Sure"
"What's your name?" Niromi asked, looking up at Tomotu with curiousity glimmering in her eyes.
"My name...?" Tomotu looked at Niromi with confusion.
That's right.... I have a name, just like everyone else. Tomotu shook her head and smiled.
"Tomotu. My name is Tomotu... Or Chat. I honestly can't remember."
"Cool! If we're lucky, Nixie maybe baked some apple pie. Let's hurry!" Niromi said, hurrying her pace.

Tomotu glanced down at the girl. Strange... But she felt something warm inside of her body... A feeling that was long lost in her memories.
    And the feeling was...
    Happiness.
