Day 1: a creative solution. // ThatPinkThing // anthro Baer the kalon
- Baer could balance on one foot while rhythmically mixing a bowl on the counter, turning pages in his cookbook, and holding the fridge door open with his free foot. He was playing with a new recipe this morning, one from a cookbook that had been gifted to him for Christmas. He'd barely had a break since the holidays, and while he appeared busy, he was having a day to himself today.
"Seems simple enough," he hummed. He left the book, grabbed an egg from the fridge, shut the door with his tail, and let the bowl he was mixing settle. He moved around the kitchen fluidly, fully at home. Despite the flour that was all up in his chest and tail fur, he kept the counters clean and organized by some miracle while he baked. "Just need some chocolate chips."
The cupboard door creaked as he opened it, and he sighed. "Uh oh." The well-organized shelf had an empty gap where chocolate chips were supposed to sit.
Baer turned around the kitchen, looking around to see what he could use to substitute. He had some cocoa pops... no, that wasn't going to be the right texture. He looked back in his cupboards, finding the chocolate sauce. Hmm... Worth a shot. Baer got out another cookie sheet, covered it in wax paper, and started dotting chocolate syrup methodically. He worked quickly and then slid the sheet into the freezer. He repeated the process on another sheet.
Thirty minutes later, he happily slid the wax paper out and shook the newly frozen chocolate drops into his cookie dough. Yet another ten minutes later, two dozen successful chocolate chip cookies sat cooling by the window. Well, two dozen minus one.
