Personality
Sin has a very complicated personality, pieced together by suffering, bullies and self doubt. Her whole life has been a struggle, but she's never cracked under the pressure to this day. Her mental will is strong, stronger than steel and she makes that clear to everyone she knows. The look in her eyes should be enough to scare off any bully, but she isn't afraid to show them.
Around her family, Sin is quite smiley and caring. Her parents are on their last limbs, so she's been a natural home nurse for them. She's gentle, understanding, patient and graceful, all traits she learned from her darling mother. Her father had always been a kind Kalon as well, but had a harder time showing it since he'd never been in love before she was born. So he claims anyway, she still believes he loved her mother first.
Even in public she tries to act as nice as she can, always smiling at those who pass by even if they're staring rudely. It took her a long time, but Sin is pretty confident with herself and her body. She fails to be snarky and upbeat about it, but she's fairly content with how she looks. Many kalons in the town already know her, so if they stare she knows it's because they admire her courage and beauty.
When she's alone, Sin is pretty quiet and minds her own fairly well. She'll be the one in the library sitting by herself with a pile of books resting on the table. Being friendly though, she'll welcome anyone to join her if they ask. Often kids like to come over and pet her tail or touch her jewels, they always call her a mermaid.
In show business, Sin plays all sorts of different personality rolls. She can be the brave trainer, dashing through the water with dolphins or a seductive siren awaiting foolish pirates. Sin doesn't consider herself a very good actress, but everyone else seems to which makes her happy. Switching faces is fun and she enjoys putting herself in the shoes of another kalon.
History
Sin has a pretty rough background being disabled as far as walking in concerned. Her mother looks like her and spends most of her life in the water, a couch or wheelchair. Her beauty has always had a high price, sometimes she wished she was born with legs rather than a tail; but she fought hard to be like the rest.
She saved up money with her parents to have a custom harness made to hold her tail so she could walk around using her front legs. The strap makes it easier to go up stairs, curbs and bumps in the sidewalk, but there's always been some difficulties. Sin couldn't play on the playground with the other kits or go down slides much less swing so she missed out on making a lot of friends. Other disabled kits would talk with her and invite her to play games where she didn't need to use legs which made her feel more accepted.
Being left out was pretty annoying once she got older, so she studies mechanics and automobiles in middle school. Learning about axels, wheels and various other things she improved the attachments herself so she could make sharp turns, run and play soccer if she really wanted to. Going up stairs is still a pain, but she can enjoy a stroll along the beach like anyone else now.

Back in the days of grade school, Sin was just two paws short of normal and usually spent time inside during play time. She had a few outcast friends who didn't mind her tail, but it wasn't the same as the kids racing outside. One day she finally went outside during a cloudy day, her front paws pulling her along while her lower body was supported by her wheel attachments. The pebbles felt cool and smooth against her pads, knowing exactly what she'd been missing all this time.
A bully at her school noticed her and came by, chatting with Sinbad casually for a moment until she felt less tense. Though shortly after he knocked her wheels to the side which left her unable to move, laughing that fish didn't belong on land with kalons. It hurt, but Sin didn't cry or whine. She held a hard gaze at him, frowning before she put her weight on her front paws, spun and hit him with her tail across the shoulder and face.
She knocked down the biggest bully in school, settling herself back into her wheels with the help of her outcasted friends. "It could have been great you know, not just anyone gets to be my friend. Picking on the little guys..." Sin shunned, helping him back to his paws though he tried to struggle away from her help.
"Friends with a fish!? Don't make me laugh!"
"Who's laughing? All I heard is silence, sadness and excuses. You will never bully me again or this fish will do a lot more than defend herself." That day was when she got the idea for her wheels to rotate around her tail a full circle so she could roll over onto her back and still move. By high school they became friends, but they never struck each other because hurting others was wrong, she tried her best to show him that on a physical and emotional level.
History of Gold
When she was growing up, her father would often take her and her mother to the pawn shop to look for parts. Her dad is an auto mechanic and will pick up old speakers, tools and tires any day. The pawn shops always had beautiful paintings, swords and various kinds of jewelry. Her mother would always ask for a new bracelet or earring if something caught her eye, Sin was a bit jealous her mother couldn't walk but was still able to confidently decorate herself with shining jewels.
Eventually, she began to pick up some of the older necklaces and earrings her mother had gotten tired of. Opals, lapis lazuli, malachite, golden studs... Her mother would dress her up and call her a move star because she sparkled like the sun. Since it was expensive stuff, she wasn't allowed to wear them to school but loved them all the same.
As she got older, the jewels and bracelets wore down her body a little more and she decided to lighten up. In order to drop all her heavy accessories, she needed one big, beautiful thing, something she'd never had before. Sapphires... She worked hard and on her eighteenth birthday got enough money from her parents and relatives to buy her own sapphire necklace. It was thick and came with a set of smaller, bead like necklaces.
With her mother and fathers help, she picked up a few more loose gems and golden beads to make the hair and tail accessories she has now. Light weight and flexible for when she goes swimming or attaches her wheels; she doubts they'll ever break or fall off.
A forgotten Dream
Ocotillo; what a strange last name they'd say. Sin's father was from Arizona and spent a lot of time in the desert as a kid. When Sin was born, they moved to a more grassy place because the needs of two outweighed the dreams of one. Her father would travel around the world to different deserts and bring back colorful sand and unusual rocks. Pictures of flowers were always the best, but being able to hold a jar of sand from Egypt was even better.
Ocotillo is a desert flower, something Sin knows she will likely never see in her lifetime as the sun dries out her scales like raisins. But this little mermaid dreams of traveling to the desert with her father someday. She collects small cacti from the stores and lines them on her window; she has about seven total and two that bloom small red and blue flowers.
Of course and she grew up, this childish wish faded into a memory, but her father still brings her rocks and sand when he can.
Job
Since she has fins and an operating tail, she teaches a swimming class for little kalons! Seeing someone so beautiful move through the water usually helps melt away fear of the water and instead feel curiosity. Her swimming class is mainly for kits, but she'll teach just about anyone how to swim.
