"Well, I suppose 'snack' is kind of the wrong word," said Gale with a lopsided smile. "It's actually a drink, but I prefer it over any other food, so it's what I claim to be my favorite fare."
Gale absolutely adores Bubble Tea. Something about it's mild creaminess, light sweet flavor, and chewy gummy-like bits is just so irrisistable to him. Faded memories of his childhood sometimes carry the taste of Boba, as his mother often bought it for him as a treat, especially when he did something well.

Gale's hands pressed firmly into the freshly-washed glass, slowly opening the Café door to reveal a striking array of scents swirling about in the crisp air. The mingling smells of coffee, tea, cinnamon buns, cookies, cupcakes, and jellied pastries filled Gale's nose with a pleasant aroma. A charmed smile flitted across his face as he sidled up by the counter, gazing at the menu.
"Hi! Would you like to order anything?" asked a cheerful voice, snapping Gale's attention to the lovely young lass behind the desk. She smiled softly, looking rather innocent, and gazed up at her new customer with a polite stare. Gale cleared his throat and ran his fingers through his clump of wavy auburn hair. "Oh, uh, absolutely. Do you have any bubble tea?" he asked with a hopeful sound to his voice.
The cashier's slight grin grew wider. "Certainly! Will that be all?" Gale nodded in reply, not hesitating in the least.
The young barista, however, seemed to grow curious. "You don't want some food as well?" she inquired, her smile faltering a bit. Gale shook his head and dismissively waved a hand. "No thank you," he said, feeling a bit flustered, and swiped his debit card to pay for the tea. "I just prefer drinking Bubble Tea by itself, I find that snacks kind of ruin the flavor," he hastily added.
The young woman smiled, looking rather amused. "So, Boba is your favorite snack? It's a beverage, you know," she said, struggling to withhold laughter. Gale blushed faintly and shrugged. "Do the tapioca pearls count?"
Suddenly, the employee burst into a fit of breezy giggles. "I like you," she finally replied, wiping away the tears that had begun to develop by her eyes. "You're quite funny." Gale beamed at the compliment and shifted his weight to lean on the counter. "Yeah, I get that a lot."
