ah this is so hard! Spiders have simple eyes but they have 8 legs not six! I've been searching everywhere but to no avail... >~<

Guesses before hint 1: violet backed starling, purple backed thornbill, phidippus putnami, Brazilian Pink Bloom Tarantula, Bettafish, orchid mantis, poison dart frog, jumping spider, striped hyena, butterfly, caterpillar, purple striped jelly, carpet chameleon, sugilite and a leopard gecko.

So this has to be an insect because it has 6 legs, so the options are a butterfly or a praying mantis, but I have yet to find a kind of either with simple eyes. I feel like there's something missing.... Anyone want to jump in?
