Hopes, Dreams, and Stories wrote:DreamsLike all other young jellybean dragons, Raiden has big hopes and dreams for his future! Although, without the encouragement of his friends and family, it almost seems as if these dreams are nearly impossible! However, he is not one to give up.
Raidens biggest goal in life is to become a superstar! he would love to play the drums and much to his parents annoyance, will practice on anything he can get his paws on! he usually walks around humming or singing at the top of his lungs. The young dragon would love to do nothing more other than sit in his cave, listen to music, and practice drumming on random objects.
Skim BoardingRaiden blinked in the soft starlight as he was drug out of bed by his father Kelly. "Where are we going!" The young bean whined for about the fiftieth time since waking up. "You'll find out soon enough!" His father replies. The same answer he had been given all morning. Raider skidded behind his dad as they started trotting down the sidewalk. It was about 5 AM, a warm, early morning by the beach. The moon had not yet set and the sky was dark. raider followed the orange bean in front of him, letting out soft tired groans and complaints every now and then. After abot a half an hour of walking, they stopped. "Close your eyes!"
Kelly instructed.
"But how will I see where I'm going?" Raiden whined.
"I'll guide you with my tail, just close your eyes!" Kelly said obviously restless.
With a sigh, Raiden did as he was told. Feeling for his fathers tail as he was led down some stairs. Raiden wiggled his toes as soft sand began to appear underpaw, and a warm sea breeze hit his nostrils, carrying with it the slight tang of salt. Moments later the soft lapping of waves could be heard and Kelly had stopped moving.
"Open your eyes.." Kelly murmured softly.
Raiden blinked one eye open, then the other. At first, all Raiden could make out was the beach lapping gently at the shore. Then, as the world began to come into focus, he noticed some objects sticking out of the sand. One was clearly a orange skimboard. Worn and old but still in good shape. Next to it, was a second skimboard. This one was smaller, and was green and yellow with a white stripe down the center.
Raiden looked up at his father. His heterochromic eyes locked with his fathers green ones. The sun began to rise above the water as Kelly said softly; "Son, welcome to your first skim boarding lesson.."
The Drums"Thumpa thump thumpa thump," went Raiden's drum "Thumpa thumpa thumpa thumpa," it played faster "Thumpathumpathumpathumpa!"
Raiden grinned, enjoying the rythmic throb that his drum let out
"Raiden!" His mother's voice called through his music "Raiden I need you for a minute!"
With a reluctant sigh, Raiden stopped his playing and bounded through the sand to his mother's side.
He was only gone for a moment. Yet, when he returned the drums where gone.
With a gasp Raiden began to search wildly for the missing drum set
"Where are they!" he moaned after scouring the small stretch of beach.
A glint of silver far out on the sea caught his eye, and his heart dropped as he realized what it was.
His drum!
The tide had come and swept them away!
Quickly he dashed towards his father's motorboat; luckily his father had left the keys in it.
With a twist of keys and roar of engine, and Raiden was off!
He twisted the boat wheel towards the flashing silver and practically flew towards it.
Even though the boat seemed to be going very fast, it took forever to get to the drums.
In fact, Raiden was sure that the sun had started to go down by the time he was near what he was sure where his drums.
Finally he reached the flashing thing, but it wasn't his drums at all!
In fact it was a huge shoal of glimmering silver fish.
"Wow!" gasped Raiden, he stared, entranced by the swirling fish and their ever changing pattern.
He watched them for over an hour, only realizing that the sun was fast sinking when the tiny fish had swam away.
"Oh no! I have to get back!" He yelped, fearfully wondering what his parents where going to do when they found out he had not only lost his drums, but had taken his dad's
boat out to look for them.
Frantically he tried to shove the key into it's place, but it was slippy in his sweating paws, and simply seemed to fly out of his grasp.
He watched in horror as the key slowly glided over the boat's edge and hit the water with a quiet 'plop'
With thoughtless haste, Raiden dove in after the key, he could see it as it fell, like a a drowning shooting star.
With desperate pawstrokes, Raiden tried to catch the sinking key, but it fell to fast, and his lungs weren't big enough to sustain his wild swim.
He turned to swim back to the surface, but another glint caught his eye, and he turned to have one last look.
What he saw nearly knocked the last bit of air from his lungs.
The key was floating up towards him!!
In a second he realized it was on top of something, he grinned as he saw what it was.
He reached his paw out and snagged the key from the dolphin's long snout, waved his thanks, and broke surface with a thankful gasp.
As quickly as he could, he climbed back into the boat and started the engine; the sun was nearly all the way down now.
Raiden squinted towards the grey strip of land in the distance and steered the boat towards it.
It was all the way dark when Raiden got back; cautiously he pulled the boat up into the dock, and hopped out.
The door slammed on the house, and his parents came running out; Raiden was caught in a tight hug, while scoldings filled his ears.
"Raiden, what where you doing!" His mother sobbed into his ears.
Raiden hung his head "The tide swept away my drums, so I went to look for them."
His father groaned "Raiden! I put your drums inside!"
Raiden couldn't suppress a giggle "Oops."
