personality

ladylike ● quiet ● anxious ● uptight ● overreactive
even though she looks a little wild, ianthe is perhaps the opposite. she acts very feminine, and has an unconditional love for bows, flowers, and many other frilly things. she's a good example of "seen, not heard", and tends to be very quiet even around her friends. she's more of an observer, choosing not to jump into the action. ianthe gets rather anxious over silly things - she can barely answer the phone, let alone go off and make new friends with people. (she mostly meets others through ravi, but that's another story.) she doesn't like dragging attention towards herself, either, and just... stays in the background. ianthe is the type that can't really take a joke, and can be seen as uptight. if someone happens to poke fun at her in the slightest, she gets really upset. she overreacts to everything - make her upset, and she'll be either furious or blubbering. when she's happy, she's a beam of sunshine in a bright meadow. ianthe is a bit dramatic in her ways, but is ultimately a little sweetheart.

relationship with ravi and dani

first of all, why does ianthe know the fishers in the first place? well, her father is a close family friend of theirs, and for ianthe, it's kind of like ravi and dani are cousins. much, much older cousins.
ianthe really loves ravi. she follows him around a lot, and in her own words, "quietly watches the ways of mr. ravioli." he tries to tell her that his name is just ravi, but she disregards that every time. ianthe and ravi are what ianthe calls "animal crossing buddies", and they often visit each other's towns, go to the island together, trade villagers, and generally have fun together. she spends a lot of time playing animal crossing, and is devoted to it, which makes her overjoyed when ravi joins. (he definitely doesn't play it as much as she does, though...) ianthe, being quite shy, often needs ravi's help introducing her before she can actually make friends. she doesn't really like how ravi flirts with every girl he meets - she thinks he should just find one girl, and stay with her, as not to hurt anyone. this is usually where her "grawrrr !!" face comes in, to scare off the girls, so they don't get lured into his little trap. ianthe herself has a little crush on ravi (i mean - who doesn't think he's cute?), and she tends to get a little... overprotective of him. she knows she's a bit too young though... but a little girl can dream.
how does ravi feel about her, though? at first, he thought that ianthe was really annoying. a little girl with a love of cute things... ew. especially when she started to follow him, as constant as a shadow - why would he want that? but this changed when one day, ianthe fell asleep in his lap, perhaps too sleepy to tell the difference between him and her dad. being stuck with a little girl snoozing in his lap, what else could he do but slowly accept how precious this was? needless to say, he decided that maybe having a second shadow wouldn't be that bad.
on the other hand, while ianthe is less close with her than ravi, she looks up to dani as a role model. danielle is pretty much perfect in ianthe's eyes - pretty, a good artist, sensible, and did i mention pretty? she's a big fan of dani's art, too - while graffiti isn't necessarily something she loves, she thinks it's really cool. ianthe often gets jealous of dani, though. she aspires to be like the older plumerian, but doubts she ever will be as good as her. she still likes dani a lot, though, and doesn't hold her feelings against dani. she agrees with dani on how ravi is a little immature with his flirting habits, too.
ianthe really wants to consider herself to be a friend to the two. a cute, sweet little friend. however, she feels like she's kind of a third wheel, and of course there's the fact that she's not actually related to them. while she hangs around them a lot, she feels like an odd third wheel. ianthe tries her hardest not to be annoying, but still follows them around... it's just in her nature.

the hair dare

xxxxxxravi didn't like, doesn't like, and never will like having his hair touched.
he'd told ianthe this thousands of times - every day she'd gaze up at his hair, or tug on it gently to get his attention, and he'd say, "hey, you little bugger, don't do that!" she'd beg and plead to just braid it one time, but the older plumerian wouldn't give in. it just wasn't his kind of thing - his hair would remain unharmed.
xxxxxxnow, one day, when ravi and ianthe had a "animal crossing night" (really just a sleepover where they'd play animal crossing all through the night, and wake up the next morning tired but satisfied), something changed. dani was out that day, with a friend, to return at around 3 pm, and ravi and ianthe had nothing to do except play more animal crossing and watch lame movies. since the two had stayed up so late, and the day ahead already seemed so boring, ravi was starting to get a little bit sleepy...
xxxxxxa little while later, ianthe peered down at the older plumerian cautiously. he was sleeping on his stomach, and seemed to be deep in slumber... it was the perfect circumstances for her little scheme! she patted ravi on the back (just to make sure he was really asleep, of course), and then darted into the kitchen to get supplies for her newest mission.
xxxxxxianthe returned to the scene loaded with resources - hair clips, headbands, elastics, scrunchies, a mirror, and even more ammo. (notably the pink hair extensions.) the little plumie checked, yet again, to see if ravi was lost in slumber... he seemed to be, thankfully. she started to work on her task, starting with taking a few strands of his hair and gently braiding it.
xxxxxxtwo hours or so passed, and ianthe was very proud of herself. full of braids and clips (and admittedly, she dumped a little bit of glitter in his hair - but to be cute, you gotta endure the pain), ravi's hair looked perfect. at least, to her... she was a bit scared that he was going to be angry when he woke up, but it was worth it, finally getting past that barrier of "don't touch it!"
xxxxxx"ianthe... what...?" ravi said, groggily getting up. he looked around, and saw the nervous grin on his friend's face. "what did you do, huh?" she giggled a bit, and then handed him her mirror. ravi starting laughing hysterically - what ianthe has done was absolutely hideous, but funny in its own way.
xxxxxxat that moment, danielle walked in. all was silent.

animal crossing?

ianthe is, in case you haven't quite noticed yet, obsessed with animal crossing. she plays it night and day, and is perhaps a little... addicted? she feels almost an emotional attachment to these animal villagers, who she claims are "nicer than real people". ianthe puts a lot of work into her town, constantly changing the paths and making hybrid flowers to keep it pretty. what exactly is her town like, though?


ianthe currently has nine villagers - dotty, wart jr, flurry, gloria, lucky, marshal, cherry, axel, and apollo. she likes all of them except gloria, and is pretty happy with her town. (she's got everything unlocked - the roost, the museum gift shop, kicks, shampoodle, the final nooklings shop... everything.) her favorite villager is wart jr, who's pictured to the left. he might be considered a little... ugly by most, but ianthe loves him for some reason. she thinks his personality is pretty funny, and thinks that his slightly rude manner is more interesting than some of the more bland villagers. she ends up liking a lot of the "uglier" villagers because of their personalities, actually, and doesn't see what's so amazing about some of the incredibly popular ones. she does, however, love marshal and lucky - and has them in her town.
to a lot of people, animal crossing is just a juvenile video game. ianthe disagrees, though - it's made her happy on so many occasions, how can it not be important to her? the villagers are all so kind, and it's always relaxing to know that you're in charge of your own little world when you need it. it's also brought her closer to ravi. without the game, they'd still be great friends, but the pair has spent a lot of bonding time while frolicking about the island. it's a little bit silly, when it comes to the bottom of things, but ianthe really does love animal crossing with all her heart.

why does ianthe like daydream believer? well, she's quite a big fan of the monkees in general - she absolutely loves their tv show, and watches it a lot, as well as humming their songs often. but daydream believer strikes a chord in her heart because of its catchy tune and pretty two part harmony that's added to the chorus towards the end. she sings it a lot, squeaking out the words in her high-pitched voice. ianthe especially likes the line "you once thought of me as a white knight on a steed," which to her, implies that not everyone is as perfect as they seem. daydream believer's upbeat vibes and jolly chorus are enough to make ianthe smile every time she hears it.

hello !! nwn pretty sure you already know me (seeing as we're in a skype group together lel), but i'm gonna introduce myself. i'm cheescake, and i'm the plumerian archivist. o3o
well, enough about that, let's get on to one question i wanted to put in my form here but didn't really know where: why do i want ianthe so much? there's a lot of reasons, really. first of all, she's hella adorable. the little snaggle teeth, and the big ears... ;o; <33 plus imagine how floofy her little mane would feel to the touch. so much floof. for me, it's also important to mention this - a post daring char to make a third sibling to go along with ravi and dani. i love the two of them (ravi's one of my all-time favorite plumies actually), and i told myself that i'd die for a third sibling. coincidentally, ianthe exists, and here we are now... |D
