~Midnight~Goddess~
Name of the Mutato:
Maria des Neves
Reason for choosing the name:
It means Maria of Snows and this is a very wintery piece I thought it was fitting. ^_^
What's the best thing with winter?
My favorite thing about winter is getting to spend time with my family. Christmas time is the only time where we all are together and I love spending time with my family without all the interruptions that happen during the rest of the year.

~~Maria's tale~~
*Maria chattering in my ear*
"Fine, fine, I'll translate for you."
"Maria says, "Hi! My name is Maria des Neves but you can call me Maria. I want to tell you a story about my birth and how I came to be Midnight's companion, but since its hard for Midnight to translate as I speak, I'll just let her tell it."
"Wait a minute! We didn't discuss this. Why am I telling your story?"
*Maria chatters again*
"Because you said so? Really? Fine but we will be discussing this later."
*I look up and realize you're still here*
"OH! You're still here." *Nervous laughter* "Right, well anyway lets start at the beginning."
"When Maria was born it was a frightening night. The wind was howling and the air was frigid, but Maria was did not cry. She was not scared of the white blizzard around her. She just reached out her hand and caught a small snowflake. As the snowflake landed in her hand her body changed. She suddenly looked like the blizzard outside. But she did not look frightening, no she looked beautiful. As Maria grew she realized she was different from the other Mutatoes, while most loved to be in the warmer parts of the globe Maria could not stand it. The heat would make her very very sick. So she stuck up north near the poles."
One day many years later, as she was watching a family of polar bears play, a strong wind came and Maria couldn't fight it. It blew her far away from her icy home, and into very different place."
"This is where I come in. Maria had managed to get herself blown all the way down to my backyard in North Carolina. Now for those of you who don't know its December 26th here and the low for today is like 47ºF. Which isn't very cold. So with that brief bit of information let's get back to the story."
"I heard a strange sound out my window, it sounded very different from anything I had heard before. So I went to investigate, and what did I find? This odd creature was laying under my swings. It was this creature that I was hearing making that noise. I was worried about the poor little thing because it looked so weak and sick. I took it inside and started talking to it. Telling it things like it was alright now and that I'd take care of it. But I never expected it to answer me back. She (as I came to learn) told me that she was made of ice and snow and couldn't be warm for long without becoming very sick. I quickly filled my bath tub with Ice and set her down in it. Within minutes she started looking better."
"Throughout the night I continued filling the tub with ice and she told me all about herself. When she was fully better we both knew it was time for her to go back home. However neither of us wanted to leave the other as we had become very good friends during the night. We were both sad, but then we decided on a plan. Every other month I would come up to see her and the other months she'd come down to see me. We knew we'd have to come up with a way for Maria to be here but not be sick. Then I found a snow machine on the internet! And this is how you see us now. That's why I'm the only house around that has snow. And this is our tale."
"Hope you've enjoyed it but its time for me and Maria to have some ice cream. So we'll see you next time, have a good day and a Happy New Year!"
*As you start to leave you look back and see a snowball flying,*
"MARIA!!! I'll get you for that!"
*Chattering that sounds like laughter*
*And you know Maria is in safe hands*
