Maria has always been graceful and beautiful, but she doesn't seem to know it, nor would she care. She is never bothered by the way a creature looks on the outside, as long as their inside is beautiful. She treats every kia the same, no matter their color, shape, or size.

A very intelligent kia, Maria always knows the right answer. Not that she would show it off, of course. She's always humble about every feat she's accomplished and every skill she's acquired.

Maria is never too outspoken, nor too quiet. She always says the right thing when something needs to be said. Even though she never wastes her breath on unneeded words, Maria still enjoys hearing others talk. Her favorite thing to do is listen as someone close to her tells a story. She'll close her eyes and savor the moment, picturing each event in her mind and laughing softly as the punchline comes.

Angelus, or Angel

Honestly, not a whole lot, though this is part of the reason I'm drawn to her. I've been trying to get more into it, and I've been having a little bit of a hard time. But I think Maria will help to open me up to that world. I'd like her to be my first and best connection with it.
I'm drawn to her for other reasons too, of course.

I do rp some now, though, so I'm not entirely unqualified.

I was planning to do a digital piece, but too late realized that I left my tablet at home D:
So this is the best I could get with just a mechanical pencil.

Dirt was caked deep in the caverns of my claws.
My arms ached, but my mind was in control and still going strong.
I was concentrated on finishing my masterpiece; a mud pie for
Desmond, my beloved brother. Teeth gritted in frustration, I was
so close to finishing when a body slammed into mine and smashed
my hopes and dreams.
"Yo! Maria! What's goin' on here, twin sister?" his voice was
so nonchalant; it made me even angrier. My teeth were grinding
against each other and it hurt my sensitive ears; I stopped, to talk
to Desmond. "You ruined my pie!" I left out the part of it being
for him, for certain purposes. I was surprised at the high pitch my
childish voice registered at, but, to be fair, it was normal for a
tantrum that was about to start. "Oh, did I?" he seemed genuinely
concerned; it was obvious. I calmed myself down as he said more.
"Here. Let's make a pie together; how 'bout that?" he grinned
at my joyous expression. I knew the answer was obvious.
My back ached, my claws flexed; trying to feel themselves in motion.
No response. I wailed aloud, covering my mouth quickly. Desmond's
familiar hand touched my back in comfort. "There there Maria,
it's done." I stared in awe, even though I just looked at it a few
seconds ago. Intricate markings separated rim from the actual pie,
and surprisingly, it actually looked like real pie! I squealed in delight,
finding my dirty brown paw, shoving it into the mud pie, then into
the face of my beloved brother, Desmond.
And thus, the mud fight began.


Maria and Desmond have always had a good friendship, despite their sibling rivalries. When they were young, they were the best of friends. No one could separate the two. As they got older, they got into small fights, sometimes not speaking to each other for a few days at a time out of spite. In the end, they always made up and hugged, going back to their old, carefree ways.

Even now, as adults, they are very close. When Desmond started dating Mango Berry, he talked to Maria about it, and asked her opinion. Of course, Maria had always liked Mango Berry, and approved. When they became mates, Maria jumped up and down in excitement. Now, with two nieces and maybe more to come, Maria's family is almost complete.
