My story requires this background info for relevance.
Everything-Ponds.com wrote:Dragon's Gate on Yellow River

According to Chinese legend, there was a place called Dragon's Gate at the top of a large waterfall on Yellow River. Carp would swim up the river, against the current to reach the base of the waterfall. Although many would try, only a few were brave and able enough to attempt the final leap up the waterfall. It was said that if a carp was able to complete the journey through Dragon's Gate at the top of the falls, then it would be transformed into a powerful dragon. In Chinese culture, the dragon is a symbol of great power. The story symbolizes that anybody who is able to persevere through great trials can accomplish their highest goals to become great.

Katsumi always wondered what was beyond the top of the Yellow River’s waterfall. Few fish ever even chanced a looked up, most spent their lives scavenging the depths of the river for scraps. The unimaginative fish only knew that the waterfall was “dangerous” and that those who ventured up it never returned. Something told Kat that those fish who never came back found a better life. She’d always felt hungry for something more than what her life was giving her.

The water pounded in Katsumi’s almost nonexistent ears. The slick, dark water seemed to push her farther and farther back with every rotation of her tail. She was struggling, still trying to get even remotely close to the base of the waterfall. The frothy bubbles seemed to form a barrier in the turbulent water. Her gills were pumping furiously when she finally began her ascent of the waterfall. This action was as challenging, or more so even, than the act of reaching the waterfall itself. She was still trailing at the bottom and felt herself beginning to slip back down. Her small muscles were failing her. She chanced a look back down at the flat river long enough to see a koi bump into a rock and continue as if nothing happened. “I am not one of them.” She thought to herself. With that thought, she gave a strong rotation of her tail and propelled herself forwards. She felt a surge of strength sweep through her as she powered up the waterfall, feeling with every turn of her tail more powerful and embodied. Soon, she found herself nearing the top.

At the lip of the waterfall, Katsumi felt her fins extending and thickening. Her face elongated and a neck began to form, pushing her head from her body. Her tail fin split in two, lengthened and thickened, forming two elegant, powerful legs. From the end of her back near her legs, another appendage began to sprout. It was a long, beautiful tail with flowing fur at the end. Her body thickened and she went through a rapid moment of growth to be at least three feet tall at the shoulder. The scales melted off and luscious, multi-colored spotted fur grew in place. As a final touch, her eyes became large and blue and her whiskers sprouted into four and elongated. Katsumi, now a beautiful, honorable, and strong dragon, found herself crouched in the middle of the river above the waterfall. She took her first breath through her new nostrils, experiencing smells like she never had before. She looked around, daring to stand up. It was a new movement for her, new strength. She felt her muscles pull as she took her first wobbly step, nearly splashing back into the water. Kat attempted another step, feeling her confidence growing with every step. Soon she was running and bounding along the rivers edge, relishing in the new feelings, smells, strengths, colors, sounds, and everything.

She laughed happily, also a new feeling, until she felt a force stop her. Katsumi fell back, looking up at a dark, looming figure in front of her. She looked closer at it, the being looked familiar. She recognized its markings as those of a fish who ventured up the waterfall. She gasped, staring at him in admiration. The dragon bowed, “My apologies. My name is Isao. I ventured up the waterfall as you have, young one. Congratulations, you’ve made it past the Dragon’s Gate. What is your name?” Kat stared at him for a few seconds more before replying, “I am Katsumi.” She spoke for the first time in her life with her voice, the words rolling off her tongue. For the first time in her life, she knew that this is where she belonged.

About Cal
An in-depth personality.
~ Calliope, or Cal as he likes people to call him, is friendly, fun to be around and kinda goofy at times.
~ He is very food-oriented. When not in a fancy setting, he’ll gobble his food very quickly and sometimes even chokes. He has a high energy level and metabolism. He eats all the time, gladly accepting anything from other beans' meals that they don't want.
~ He has a hard time sitting still. He thinks that not doing anything for long periods of time is boring-- even at night he'll lie, wide awake, staring at the ceiling, for hours.
~ He's a very fast runner, but his speed on land doesn't even compare to his agility in the water. He loves to do all sorts of fancy tricks and is a bit of a showoff when it comes to racing. He's always out to impress the ladies, but will often flit from one fae to the next, not really taking any of them seriously.
~ He likes to be helpful and will always be the first down on the floor, cleaning up the mess, but at the same time is often frustrated if nobody helps him.
~ He's intelligent but doesn't really have a drive to learn, applying his brains to only what he wants to do. He likes logic puzzles purely for the fact that he can always impress other JBDs with how easily he can solve them.
~ He's a highly ritualized bean and doesn't like the main parts of his day to change in any way. He's easily disturbed by something not happening when he was expecting it to happen.
~ He has many friends to hang around, but likes to have at least a couple hours a day to be by himself. If anyone intrudes on him during his "private time", he can get kind of snappy, unless you bring food with you.
~ He's very gullible. He won't hold a grudge against you if you trick him, but he'll find an opportunity to trick you back(in a friendly way) at some point.
~ He's sensitive and is easily upset, saddened or scared. When he feels strongly about something he's not afraid to speak out passionately.

-Hey, I'm Furriesforever,But if you want you can call me Furries!-

:Name:

-I would name him Hikaru-
-It means Light in Japanese-

:Gender:

-If I won him I would make him a Male-

:How he became a Koi fish:
Once when Hikaru was a small baby bean he would go up to Mt.Tsukuba to torment the koi pond deep within the mountins chambers.Hikaru was always warned not to go into the caverns of Mt.Tsukuba but young Hikaru never listened to what he was told. The elders always told strange and mythical stories of the Tsukuba wizard, but the young bean never belived in fairy-tales, he thought they were just stories to entertain the baby beans. He was NOT a baby.So he never belived or listened to them anymore.

He walked into the last cavern of the mountian, the deepest, and darkest of them all.But behind a big door was a Koi pond.He would splash about in the water and chase the so called 'magical' fish into their safe homes under logs and rocks. He did this for hours. One day as he went to leap into the water a deep voice called out his name and he froze. He turned to see a standing koi fish bigger than himself.Hee had a staf and a big colorful cloak. He spoke,
"Haven't you ever been told not to play with a magical fish?!?"he boomed, and young Hikaru awnsered,
"Yes, sir........I didn't believe the elders when they told me about you and your fish being magical"Hikaru stammered,
"Why didn't you listen!?!"He boomed causing the bean to shake.
"I thought those were stories for babies........I'm not a baby"Hikaru stammered scared and quivering.By this time the wizard was beside his koi pond the fish crowded around him and he threw flowers out for them and stroked their scales. He turned to Hikaru and said angrily,
"You scared my poor fish out of their little minds"He said in a small baby voice.
Baby Hikaru murmmered terrified,
"Sorry"This made the wizard even more angry and he boomed back,
"Sorry is not nearly enough!!How would you like to feel their pain?!?"he asked angrily at Hikaru, with that he murmmered words and shot Hikaru with a bright lights knocking Hikaru out. When he woke he was at home in his bed, He shook his head and said,
"Strangest dream"He got up and looked in the mirror and let out a small shriek.
His perfectly white pelt what covered in colorful spots....Looking like a koi fish himself!Hikaru was horrified to go outside, when he had to go to school,When he got outside everyone teased him Beacuse he no longer was white like everyone else.He never tormented a koi fish ever again, He actually respected them more. And listened to his elders more.

:His story book:
-This is a book that Hikaru wrote when he was a small bean-

Concept art of cave, by Ivalynfure
Myself (bit of a rushed bg, sorry)

Description of the place she lives:

Sebastian's home is extremely isolated and dark. It is a moist, medium sized cave. The top of the cave forms a natural dome, so the very centre of the top is open. This lets some light in the cave, and is in fact the only major light source. The light that funnels in from the open cave roof shines upon a pond that rests at the very base of the round cave. Almost the entire bottom of the cave is filled with this water, so it isn't really a small pond. The water is usually churning, except at night when the moon filters through the roof-hole. It is not known why the water calms down, but there is old folklore about the water. They say it rages during the day because of how much it misses reflection the lovely moon, and at night calms down again as the moon appears. It's an interesting tale, though the real cause probably has something to do with the wind that comes through small openings in some parts of the cave.

Sebastian keeps three Koi fish in the pond in her cave. They are all very important to her, she would be extremely upset if any of them died or fell ill. The water seems to keep them healthy, somehow, but she still checks on them quite often. She doesn't leave her cave too often for this reason. She will guard the cave from any predators that would feed on her fish, birds being the most pesky problem.

Her cave is a perfect place for her to live. Since it is moist and cool, plenty of plants grow. Most of them are edible fungi of sorts, but she also has a couple fruit bearing plants in an area with some soil. She eats this fruit very often, as well as the insects that are attracted to it. She drinks from her pond, which is freshwater. Her set-up is incredibly convenient; there is no need for her to leave. She does leave her cave now and again, but she doesn't stay out for long.
Image

Sebastian sleeps in the upper chambers. Her cave has many natural rocky steps, ledges, and "rooms" where the cave has formed on all sides but one. She is very close to the opening in the top of the cave, so she is constantly exposed to the elements. She has grown quite sturdy for this reason, she can take much harsher conditions now than she used to. Her upper ledges are often slick and wet from rain from previous days, so Sebastian has learned to be very cautious and careful when walking around on them. They are useful for getting warm when it's sunny, though. Sebastian enjoys laying out in the sun when the weather is warm.

Overall, her home is a haven to her, and not something she would leave easily.

Username: My username is tiedye7. No stealies, although I don't see why you would want to.
Name: His name is Kawarimono, a catch-all term for koi fish, but he usually just goes by Mono except on formal occasions.
Gender: Obviously, Mono is a male.
Personality: Mono is easygoing and open most of the time, except when he's under pressure or performing. In fact, he avoids the spotlight as much as possible. In these situations, he stutters and forgets what he was going to say, and his tail either goes in front of or wraps around his legs. His friends will tell you he has a great sense of humour, but he's not so great with the ladies. He has a tendency to blush and look away when confronted by girls.

Name: I would name her Mikrí̱ Limnoúla.{Mick-re Lim-no-oo-la}
Gender: Female
Name Meaning and origin Mikri's name mean 'Little pond' in Greek. I originally got this idea because he's based off a Koi, so I thought about the water. I thought about naming her with something to do with fish, but none of the names fit like Mikri. I wanted something to do with the Koi theme too.
Favorite Activity Mikri's favorite activity is playing swimming in the shallowest places possible. Know one knows why she does it, but Mikri always likes to swim in four feet or less. She finds it fun to splash everything in sight and fatten her body to the ground to make it look like she is actually swimming. She likes to jump on lilly pads and small fish if she sees them, though she never hurts them on purpose. She likes to prance around the small space, and run as fast as she can in tiny circles rushing against the water.

my reptiles (aka my personal pets)
1.1 Uromastyx geyri, 3.1 Uromastyx ornata, 1.0 Uromastyx acanthinurus nigriventris, 2.0 piebald ball pythons, 1.0 puma ball python

i study lizards & bugs and like animals

Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.
