short story under 800 words:
Dom was running across the horizon, as free as a bird. Breathing in all of the fresh air around him as the sun set. It was getting dark and the little dragon knew that he had to Victor, his guardian. Using his little legs, Dom ran as fast as he could back to his home with a big smile on his face. "Oh, why hello Dom. Did you have a nice time playing outside?" asked Victor. "Oh yes, yes! I even got to play with the pretty birds!" exclaimed Dom. He smiled for a little longer before changing his facial expression to a more serious one. "Victor? How did you learn how to dance? And how did you get so good at it?" "That's a good question, Dom. It all started when I was about 15. I saw many others do all of these interesting dance moves, defying the very nature of gravity. I was just absolutely blown away and thought to myself: Wow, that's... that's just amazing. So from that point on, I tried different dance moves, doing them over and over until I could get them right. I didn't even have a special style! I practiced new things everyday, and from all of that practice evolved into what I do today." "Oh wow.... that's amazing! Is it possible that you could teach me a few of your dance moves? I'm really interested." Victor grinned at the little one's enthusiasm and rubbed Dom's head. "I would love to, Dom. But not now, it's getting late, and you need to rest before I can teach you anything." Victor took his paw away from Dom's head and Dom nodded happily and quickly dozed off.

The next morning, Dom woke up, eager to learn. He bounced over to Victor to go wake him up. Victor was already awake, but didn't feel like getting up at that moment. But Victor heard Dom hopping over so he got up. "Good morning, Dom. Are you ready to learn?" Dom nodded his head in excitement as the two dragons worked together. Dom learned as much as a little dragon could, taking a mental note of almost everything Victor said. There may have been a few times where he zoned out. By the sunset of that day, the two dragons were all out of energy. They had given it all they've got. Little Dom didn't learn too much, but at least he remembered what Victor told him repeatedly throughout the day. Your dreams are your inheritance.

From then on, Dom did as much as he could so he could hopefully become as good as his mentor and guardian, Victor, at dancing.

[I have permission to use ziltar1's JBD, Victor, in this story.]

name: Chayton (This is a Sioux name meaning Falcon)
short story under 800 words:
Chayton had always loved to watch the Falcons flying high in the sky. He had dreamed of flying with them, but as he does not have any wings, He knows he could never fly with them. He had heard of a mountain that rose above the clouds and he knew that he could finally visit his High flying friends. He started off on his journey, alone. But shortly after he started, he met a fox who started traveling with him. The fox would keep an eye out for danger while Chayton slept at night. They became good friends and continued to travel together. After many days, they finally reached the mountain of legend, which rose high into the clouds and where the Falcons soared at their highest. Together they climbed up the old, hidden path and after many hours, they finally made it to the top. Chayton's dream had come true! He was finally as high as the Falcons and watched them as they soared and dived in what almost seemed like an aerial dance of sorts. Maybe they were celebrating the two's journey....Who knows?

'I bet I can climb up it!'
gloats January.

'You can't even climb a
ladder! How could you
climb a tree?' inquired
Aalani.

'I can try!'

As January started to
back up to get a running
start, Aalani heard
something.

'Wait, Jan! I heard a
squeak come from one
of the branches!' Aalani
called.

'Whoa!' As January tried
to skid to a stop, she
somersaulted face first
into the tree.
'Ow....'

'Shhh! Listen! Can you
hear it?'

Another small squeak
emitted from the 3rd
branch of the tall tree.
January climbed up a
bit to take a peek.

'Do you see it, Jannie?'
whispered Aalani as she
too was starting to climb
up.

Jan was just now perching
on the limb of which the
nest sat. Peering into the
medium sized nest, Jan was
taken back. Awestruck;
whatever you want to call it.
She was in awe of what she
saw.

Finally grabbing a hold and
swinging herself up to the
3rd branch, Aalani whined.
'Well? What is i-'

"Shush!' The angered January
whispered hoarsely to her
sister.

Aalani just stared at the thing.
The tiny helpless ting that lay
before her as Jan slowly cupped
it in her hands and brought it
close.

‘Well, we both definitely know
what it is…’ whispered Aalani.
‘I don’t want to just be calling it
“it” though.’

‘We can’t just name it though!
That’s only for it’s mommy.
Don’t you remember when
Mommy named us?’ Jan moved
closer to Aalani whispering still.

‘At least see if it’s a he or a she,
will you?’ Aalani rolled her eyes
towards January.

As January slowly ‘checked’ to
see if ‘it’ was a he or a she,
whatever it was, and made a
face.

‘I really never want to see that
ever again…’ groaned Jan.

‘Oh, grow up January! Now,
what is it?’

'Um, a boy.' Explained January.
As she started to put him in her
pouch, he started to stir. And
the same noise they heard just
got a bit louder.

'Oh no. He's waking up!' Aalani
worried.

January started to panic and
slowly lifted him out of her pouch,
a bit like a hot potato though.

'Well don't hurt the poor creature!'
Exclaimed Lani as she moved in closer.
'Here, give him to me.'

Still screeching, January gave 'Him'
to Aalani.

Bitsy
I would name this beautiful bean Bitsy. It's a cute name, and it's catchy. I think it sorta, fits him. A nickname would be Bits.

Image
Bitsy trotted slowly down the leaf riddled path. Tree branches cascaded, and knotted together above him, forming a beautiful archway. He always loved taking strolls. The breath taking forest, and mesmerizing scenery were just amazing, and the sweet lullaby of the forest's animals singing together was unique, and indescribable.
WIP

Image
Light
Bitsy is very light, and has a fluffy personality. he always seems to brighten up others' day. He's even shy sometimes!

Energetic
Bitsy has overloads of energy. Sometimes, he's bouncy off the walls. He loves doing things that involve using up his energy. He's an active JBD.

Understanding
Bitsy is very understanding, and makes a good listener. He likes to be there for people, when they need someone to help them out. He's very helpful, and understanding, and a lot of people like him for it.

Kind
Bitsy naturally has a kind and caring soul. He doesn't bring people down, but instead makes light jokes and happy comments. he's a positive bean.

Spunky
Sometimes Bitsy can have a little attitude, but in a more funny, spunky sort of way. He loves to party, and dance, and be all goofy.

    Kumba (Koo-m-bah) meaning black fruit tree
short story under 800 words:
    Everyday Kumba would go to his favorite rock and watch the birds. Kumba was getting to be a good ornithologist, or bird watcher if you prefer, he knew many bird types by heart. Kumba found the weirdest thing peaceful and is sort of a social outcast, but he didn’t mind one bit. Let them think he is weird, for all he cares!
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    One day a bird finally decided to confront him, a crow in fact, and flew down and landed a few feet away from him. Kumba smiled getting excited. “Oh!" He exclaimed. The crow just watched him carefully.
    Finally the bird spoke,
    “Why do you watch us all the time? It creeps us out”.
    "O-oh um sorry, I just like watching birds because well you guys interest me”. He crow hopped closer to Kumba carefully.
    “Why? What’s so great about birds? Sure we fly but…?” Kumba stared up at the sky happily for a bit.
    He sighed and answered finally,
    “No one understands me, and that’s okay,” He looked at the crow, smiling, and continued, “I can’t say the reason why I love birds because it is hard to explain”.
    The crow hopped even closer, now only a foot away, “Well I find it strange…” Spoke the crow. “And I find it natural for me” Kumba replied. They sat in silence for a bit. “You know,” The crow broke the silence, “I really don’t understand you”.
    Kumba looked at the crow again, “There are many things we don’t understand and I guess I’m one of those things then”.
    The crow smiled, “Well I guess we have that in common!”
    “I guess so”. Kumba leaned back.
    Once again they sat in silence; the crow was now on the rock next to Kumba. Kumba watches the sky intently, and the crow watched Kumba. Everyday Kumba would come back and so would the crow. They would talk for what seemed like hours together.
    “Oh I’ve forgotten to tell you! I’m Shallow."
    Kumba laughed a bit, “Seems a little late!”
    Shallow sheepishly smiled, “I guess so”.
    Kumba felt at home on the rock with Shallow by his side. The adventures they could go on! He grew excited and finally blurted out, “Do you want to come live with me!?”
    Shallow looked at his friend surprised by the sudden outburst. Shallow started laughing.
    “What? Is it too early to ask you? I thought I gained your trust!” Kumba felt embarrassed and a bit let down.
    “Oh silly Kumba! I’m laughing because your shout sounded like a bird’s! Of course I’ll be your pet!”
    “Oh? Really? Ha-ha, I guess it did!”
    Together Kumba and Shallow left back to Kumba’s forest cove. It was not a dirty, ugly cove it was clean, bright, and happy. Together Kumba and Shallow lived happily together singing and playing together.
    “Friends forever?”
    “Definitely, Kumba! Friends forever!” Shallow chirped. Together they laughed and hopped around their house.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Sadly, not all stories have happy conclusions Shallow ended up dying after a few years. Kumba made a stuffy crow and named it Shallow for his remembrance. Every night Kumba sleeps with the stuffed animal as he did with Shallow. In addition, every day he goes to the rock where they met and cries softly for a bit.
    “I promise I will never forget you…” Kumba said softly to Shallow.
    “And I will always remember you, too” Shallow wheezed. Kumba could not stay strong anymore her hugged Shallow, crying, “I’m sorry! Please don’t go!”
    “And I am sorry too... Goodbye, friend”. Shallow closed his eyes and never opened them again.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Kumba hugged the stuffed animal he made, Shallow. “I miss you…” Kumba had promised Shallow that he would always be happy. “It’s hard to be happy without you... A-and I try really hard to keep my promise.” His eyes water and he let the tears flow, “I’m just so sorry!” Kumba sobbed into the stuffy for what seemed like hours. Finally, Kumba stopped and gathered himself. He put the stuffy down and walked out the door, head hanging low. “I will be happy… For Shallow” Kumba lifted his head and tried to smile. “I will be happy for him.” With that, Kumba walked out the door.
Hi! I'm Paradox!
Image
Why hi there! My name is Gully.
Image
When Gully was a very tiny bean, his mother told him great stories of whimsical places. These stories held so much myth and magic that you could just see little Gully's eyes widen with every new story. His favorites tales usually included small mystic beings known as faeries. In the story, their realm was full of beauty and magic. The creatures had mounts of small birds known to us as hummingbirds. That is how they were able to explore far and wide and even come to our world.
With every story came even more imagination in this beans head. He always dreamed of exploring the whimsical realm of the fae, until one day he saw one. Not a faerie. A humming bird.
He had never seen such a small, fragile and wonderful creature before. His face filled with joy as he ventured closer to it. When the little creature noticed him it buzzed off as fast as it's small body could carry it. This was the first and maybe last time Gully would have the chance to see one of these creatures! He couldn't let it go that fast.
It started with a trot, then leaps and now bounds. Gully was chasing this marvelous being as fast as his small legs could carry him. Through gullies and glens, this little bean ran. He kept wondering if this bird knew how to stop! Soon they reached a stream. The little bird glided right over but alas, Gully didn’t have delicate wings like the bird. He froze with fear as he almost fell in. Gully soon caught himself and kept a firm grip on the ground. With having gone as far as he had, this journey couldn’t end this easily. About 5 feet away was a log covered in mist and moss. Gully knew it would be a risk, but it is a risk he would just have to take.
One foot followed by another Gully gracefully crossed. With a couple of slips he finally got across. By now, the humming bird was out of sight. Gully took a look around him to study his surroundings. This place was strange and unfamiliar to the bean. Being as young as he is, Gully got worried and started to feel small and defenseless in the world. Soon tears started to stream from his eyes.
“How will I ever get home to my mother? She must be so worried by now.”
Gully found a rock to sit on and curled up.
What was that?
It sounded like a faint buzzing sound. It keep getting increasingly louder. Gully wiped the tears from his eyes just long enough to look up. His eyes grew larger than they ever have been before. Hovering above him were hundreds of the same small, fragile and wonderful creatures that had started his journey. Hummingbirds. Tons and tons of hummingbirds.
There was no longer fear within this bean, but instead, hope. The little birds started to to fly back the direction that he had came. They seemed to know what they were doing. Gully stater to follow again, but instead of going back, they started to go up. Into the sky the birds flew. Gully feared that they were leaving him so he would be alone in the soon to be dark, but he was wrong. The birds flew so high up that they seemed to disappear. In the place where the hundreds of birds once flew was now a shining bright star. Gully knew this must have been a sign. He gently padded back across the log and then started his journey back. The star shone brighter than the rest. The terrain soon became more and more familiar until he was in his own back yard. He could hear his name being called from on the porch. His mother had now spotted him and greeted him with open arms. The two were soon united again and after going inside gully amazed his mother with his whimsical story.
The next morning Gully went out to his yard to look at the spot where the creature that started his journey was first seen. In the exact spot where it sat, a shining object was in its place. Gully ran over and picked it up. The object that he was twirling in his paws was a silver star necklace with four points, it looked extremely similar to the one he had just followed home.
Ever since that magical day, Gully has worn his treasured necklace and has always fantasized over hummingbirds. Some find this bean strange but he doesn't seem bothered by it. He believes in what he believes to be true. And to him, faeries are true.
Well, I know how their have been so many bird theme designs recently, which I am absolutely thrilled about (being one of the worlds biggest bird freaks and all.) But what if instead of doing birds, you do reptiles? I know of many different gorgeous snake breeds.
(Like you can find here: X)
I think there are so many options that could cater to many peoples liking!
    His name means make a mess of, destroy or ruin, walk unsteadily or speak haltingly.
    (Being that it matches with his personality/words that describe him. c:)
    short story under 800 words:
    Bumble sat by the window, grinning sheepishly at his cool new shoes. Of course they were little, to fit is cute small feet and he would eventually grow out of them, but he loved them like they were a treasure chest full of pretty treasure such as pearls and coins.
    They shoes themselves were these little black-blue boots with grey laces, which twisted around from the top of the shoe to the middle of the main part of the shoe. The bottom of the shoe also was a greyish colour, but there were little letters along the side of this. It read 'rock city boy' along it in a bright red.
    Bumble wore them mostly for his love of music, which was big in his life. One day he wished he would become popular in the jellybean dragon community, to be the 'rock city boy'. He'd dream of rocking the jellybean dragons, as in being popular among them all. To be this though, he would have to be a rock star but he would also have to wash his shyness away and try not to break things.
    With these shoes on, Bumble felt inspired and excited by everything he looked at. Firstly, the first step to him 'rocking' the jbd world, he needed lyrics for a song. He sat there staring at the blank piece of paper for awhile, imagining up what would happen if he really did become famous.
    But wait! What was he getting so distracted about! His first song needs lyrics!
    But wait! He needed someone to play the drums and guitar! How many people would he need to help him make this music? Was it possible to play the drums, piano and the guitar AT THE SAME TIME?
    Perhaps he could make some more friends and they could create a band? Of course, he would be the lead singer and the others would be back ups and the instrument players. T this did not help the fact that he was indeed shy around others! His only friend currently is Alek, and Bumble was sure that Alek could not play the drums, piano and the guitar at the same time!
    Bumble sat confused, staring at the paper which was still blank. Perhaps before getting into the confusion and courage of asking to creat a band with some other beans, he would create his lyrics first! How exciting!
    And the muse and inspiration flowed right into his head.
    ~It's time to fly, fly, fly,
    High into the sky, sky, sky,
    Spread your wings and you'll be able to rock this city,
    Rock that guitar,
    Rock that piano,
    Rock those drums!
    Spread your feathers around,
    Become known,
    But don't become blown away!
    Because,
    It's time to fly, fly, fly,
    High into the sky, sky, sky,
    Spread your wings and you'll be able to rock this city!~
    Bumble grinned proudly at the lyrics. He picked them up in his mouth before running outside in his favourite boots. It's time to show Alek and to test my courage! We're going to rock this city!
    five words to describe him: Music-lover, clumsy, shy, heavy-sleeper, destructive
    (Fun bonus! 8D) Any suggestions for new JBD designs? I'd like to see more 'Japanese' or just plain coloured jbds (like all the same colour or all the same colours except different colour.) In Japanese I mean as like the plants and clothing styles themed they have over there (not just kimonos but Lolita and fairy kei and such.) And perhaps more JBD's with items already? Like one could have chopsticks on it's tail or something, hehe.
but leaving this in case you want it
(Fun bonus! 8D) Any suggestions for new JBD designs? More animal-themed designs like this one, but do REPTILES, please! There's so many pretty reptile species... ball pythons, leopard geckos, boa constrictors, burmese and reticulated pythons...
Also, maybe object-themed JBDs? IDK. I have too many ideas, I don't think listing them all would be a good idea.
