He loves the way it seems to sparkle with the last light of a past star, the way it shines like it still has some life in it. Palliatus loves the sky, and the idea of a stone that has seen the sky, has flown through space for longer than he has been alive, is absolutely intriguing to him. Answer: Rhodochrosite. Why's he like this one so much? He loves things that don't look like they belong. It's a rock, and usually, they're just rock shaped. These? They're squares. Squares. When he first saw one of these, he was jumping all over the place and he couldn't stop looking at it. He looked rather crazy, but still the same adorable dork he always is. He also just really likes the colour of it. It's sort of pink, but so red at the same time. Even though it's rather pink, and males aren't generally supposed to like that colour, he's never given a care about that. He just loves it. Another thing he likes about this one, is that he loves stories, lore, and anything to do with his name. The Incas believed that this stone is the stone form of their past ruler's blood.

For one, if you look very closely, the opal looks like a picture of space: the light blue streak through it is like an arm of the milky way, and it almost looks as if there are stars within the navy blue depths. In Roman times, opals were considered a symbol of hope; one reason with Trydan keeps his tied around his tail.
