Tierney's first pin was actually given to him as a gift rather than being one that he chose for himself. He lives in the Appalachian Mountains in Canada and a close friend gave him a pin with the Canadian Flag on it for his birthday. He treasures this pin almost more than any other in his collection because his friend gave it to him right before she moved to the United States of America. He missed her terribly, so he decided to travel there and see her again after a few years of being apart. This pin sparked the love of travel that bloomed in his soul.
His friend, a Kalon named Norah, had moved to Arizona. Tierney decided to travel there to visit her after he had not seen her for three years. He had not expected the intense heat that assaulted him when he stepped off of the plane though, and this nearly ended his travelling days for good. He does not like very hot weather, which makes his mountain home suit him perfectly. Norah knew this about him and decided to try to make him forget the heat by taking him sight-seeing. One of the places they went was the Grand Canyon. Norah was right to do this, as it rekindled the budding adventurer in Tierney. He was awestruck that something like this could exist. Norah bought him his second pin as well, which is this one of one of the wonderful views of the Canyon. Tierney will never forget it as long as he lives, and this pin is his favorite to this day.
Since the first pin he received, Tierney has collected one pin from every place he has traveled. His collection has expanded to contain over one hundred pins, each from a different destination. His plane has just landed in Japan. He is planning a trip to Itsukushima Island. He has toured all over Europe and Asia and this is one of the last places on his list of must-visit locations. The following day he arrives on the Island, and even though it is crowded with other tourists, he cannot miss the beauty of the architecture. He visits Gojunto, the pagoda that reaches five stories into the air. The red and black building strikes a cord in his heart, and he knows that he will not stop traveling. He will create a new list of lesser-known locations and begin again. Seeing the Grand Gate out in the water he bows his head in respect. He then turns and searches for a gift store. He enters, selects a pin with the image that so moved him outside, and makes his purchase. He pins the button to his scarf for safekeeping. This is one place he will never forget.

I also used a couple of GIMP brushes for the passport and baggage tag lines, but I colored them in and edited them as well.
The art was made by me. I have never drawn a Kalon before, nor have I drawn an animal in that particular perspective either.
