a small kalon stepped out into the lush field crowded with rows of plants and flowers. an older, calmer kalon followed her.
"are you ready, gigi?" the older kalon said with a smile.
"yes!" replied the small pink kalon. the older kalon, giselle's grandfather, followed leaded the way to a small patch of soil on the ground. giselle held a small speck in front of her, barely visible. it was a rose seed. she buried it in the ground and turned to her grandfather, who was holding the watering can.
"good job!" he smiled, proud of the kit.
"we will come back here and take care of it every day. then, it will become a pretty flower."
"really!?" giselle gasped. her grandfather nodded with a smile.
"when i get much older, you will become the new owner of this garden. you can take care of all the plants, and maybe, just maybe, this rose will still be here."

many years later, giselle walked out to the large garden.
she smiled, looking at all the lush plants and bushes of flowers and vines. noticing something in the corner of her eye, she turned. seeing the beautiful red rose, she thought of her grandfather. memories rushed back to her. happy memories.

the pink kalon stepped around the kitchen, busy with her work.
humming to the tune of the radio, giselle poured the batter into a bowl. she was making raspberry pastries, a dish she knew by heart. also, it wasn't just because the treats were mouthwatering and delicious, it was the first thing that she learned how to bake. when she was a kit, her mother had baked her some one day, and because of its amazing flavor filled with raspberries and cream, (gigi adored raspberries and cream) she demanded that her mother teach her how to make them. she had great memories from that experience, giselle and her mom laughing, making a mess in the kitchen, and even when the pastries were done they tasted horrible. they all laughed at that, her mom and her grandfather sitting at the table giggling. it isn't the taste of the pastry that counts, but the experience.
