A Better Description:

Nao is used to luxury and relaxation. The fact that
he is a great warrior is purely a fluke of fate. His
sparring instructor, and all the other people in court,
realized early on that his laziness often compels him
to resort to violent physical means when something,
or more typically someone, is standing in the way
of what he wants to be doing. The commander took
advantage of this fact and irritated him into training.

His reputation of being a charmer and a huge flirt is, on the other hand, entirely Mi's fault. She convinced him early on that it is great fun to mess with the feelings of others. And I did say others, not just girls. When they're both extremely bored, Mi has Nao go out into the city dressed as a woman with the name Naomi. In these instances, Nao says exactly what Mi tells him to. It's Mi's way of flirting and 'getting out'. To talk, she simply spells out the words on her fan so that Nao can read it. Since the design is on only one side, no one ever realizes what's going on. He's not trans; the two of them just like messing with people's heads.

Nao and Mi, in general don't care about anyone but themselves, unless the other people are interesting. Nao lives to relax and enjoy himself. This includes playing with fire, burning things down, lazing around, sleeping, eating, reading, painting, and sometimes fighting. If forced to interact with others he'll take the shortest path (or what he sees to be the easiest and quickest way) to getting away. His usual methods include: ignoring/sleeping, manipulating/flirting, leaving, jumping out a window, and being physically violent. He always remains courteous when conversing, however, because he doesn't want to deal with people telling him to be nice or have check behind every door for assassins. Mi enjoys riling up Nao, setting up couples in her head, appreciating Nao's art, gossiping, and trashing everyone's wardrobe. Unlike Nao, she does not pretend to like anyone unless she is playing their flirting games.To each other, they are significantly less formal in their speech patterns and most conversations dissolve into meaninglessly clever banter.
