But is she normal? Maya considers herself to be "an average seventeen-year-old," but that's not completely true. Although she's not a witch, something commonly mistaken in school, she is quite different. She was born with a flame--both figuratively and literally. Maya can hear spirits due to this, but rather than tell the truth and get mistaken as a witch again, she tries to hide it as much as possible and label herself as normal. However, besides sometimes hearing spirits, she has no special powers or odd traits, so Maya is close to normal.

Certainly, she has an awkward but relatable personality. She is very emotional and considerate, always being thoughtful of others. Unfortunately, Maya sometimes can go overboard with her emotions, making her seem irritating or a little crazy. However, she is very open and expressive, which makes her admirable. Her sensitivity tends to be overbearing, but it is something her friends can get used to. Sadly, Maya doesn’t have many friends.

Maya can be a little quirky and sensitive, but she is quite smart, she loves to do what others do, and can fit in well. So is she normal or not? Simply put, it depends on perspective.

Keme: Native American Algonquin name meaning "secret."

Hi, I'm Banana, a current non-owner.

Keme is known for her quiet, strange ways, and especially her blindness. She was blind since birth, and instead of eyesight she had a strange glow that came from her delicate eyes. The witch-like part of her is her eyes, the glow gives off an aroma that smells the closest thing a smell can be to her mood. Keme would rather not everyone flee from the smell of her occasional bad moods, so she has scented candles on her back to hide the aroma. Because of her differences, she has been an outcast for as long as she can remember, causing her to fall into the habit of speaking very little. She prefers to communicate with her body language. Keme has a very difficult time getting around so she adopted a barn owl from a local lab of ornithology. His right wing had been broken in an accident and never healed correctly, so he was unable to fly. The barn owl, which she named Ben, sits on top of her shoulder and warns her of dangers that she cannot see that could be harmful to her. In return, he gets to enjoy her company and leave his awful cramped cage.
