      Hello! :3 My username's ThunderStarStorm - it's a pleasure to meet you all! :3 Feel free to call me Nari, Thunder, Starry, Stormy, Star, or any other variation your brain decides - I really quite adore nicknames! ^u^ I've never really met any Makoatl that I really 'clicked' with, but upon seeing Alice my heart kind of just went; 'ba-boomp! ALRIGHT YOU'RE TRYING OUT FOR HER NOW NARZ.' I do hope I win, because I've fallen quite in love with her, but I'd like to wish everyone else good luck as well - there are so many beautiful forms to verse against! ^^;;

-Greetings and Salutations my fellow Makoatl. I am known as Alice.-
This beautiful babe's name is simple 'Alice'. Unassuming yet entirely elegent - much like the Makotal herself - it is both a nod to Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and the darker version, 'Through The Looking Glass (And What Alice Found There)'. In fact, Alice has read both books, and finds the comparison between the books and her life utterly hilarious, although she believes she belongs more on the Wonderand side of the mirror than book-Alice's side.

-If you can't see that, I'm afraid you need to get your eyesight checked. Don't worry, I won't wait for you to return.-
Alice is female through and through, and although she won't show it, being mistaken as a male will probably irratate her immensly. The female Mako has spent quite a time perfecting her 'Ice Queen' persona, and she'd rather not be called an Ice King.

TELL ME A STORY, OF PIRATES AND PRINCESSES ;; wrote:

The Musings that Always Seem to Take Place While Hunting for the Perfect Halloween Costume.
-Halloween never really stops being...Intereasting. And thought-prokoving, sadly enough.-
The quest for the perfect Halloween outfit started out simply enough – it always did, in Alice’s opinion.
At first, the deep-sea Mako internally chastised herself for thinking about participating in it again this year (having remembered last year’s fiasco with the fireflies and the fake spider webs), and telling herself that the childish holiday was not worth her time.
But when in an argument with herself, Alice was never able to win and so she had growled at herself and prowled around her house like a tiger in a cage, but by the time she was done brooding she’d started formulating the best path to avoid huge crowds of Mako and young pups darting around like morons, all high on sugar.
Now the only thing to do was to get Callimaco to agree to coming with her.
That was generally the most problematic point of deciding to attend the Halloween festivities – convincing Callimaco attend.
What the two had was not really a friendship more so as it was a dependence; the two deep sea Mako had grown up in a life where others reacted badly to their appearance, and that desperate loneliness was what drew them together. Their personalities clashed in a silent, push-and-pull war that was only forgiven with the knowledge that abandonment was worse than staying friends, but each ‘battle’ was a wired mix of pushing pressure and differing opinions.
Alice’s cold exterior meant that she frequently insulted people in her passive-aggressive way and almost never apologised for it, while Callimaco’s shyer tendances meant that the female’s strong personality often forced him to bow to her wishes, leaving both unsatisfied.
Although Alice knew if she applied enough pressure, the male Mako would fold like a leaf in a storm, the white-haired girl also knew that she’d only serve to distance her ‘friend’ for some time after the incident, and so resorted to her usual ways of getting something from Callimaco; lots and lots of indirect ‘convincing’ until he got the message and conceded to go.
Right now, however, the female Mako was browsing through the market place, silky cloth brushing over her dark fur and a bored nothing guiding her paws.
She’d never been one for the loud festivities that Halloween would bring, preferring instead to study the stars through the water’s surface, but there were some parts of All Hallow’s eve that Alice did find enjoyable – carving pumpkins (though usually it was more stabbing the vegetable and getting orange seeds everywhere as she attempted to do something artistic-y), horrifying younger Mako with her terrifying appearance (and the mess of pumpkin that always ended up on her front porch) and dressing up.
        Image

Although it wasn’t really the dressing up that Alice liked; rather, it was the knowledge that for a blissful night, she could pretend to be someone else. A Mako with curved horns instead of stalks that glowed faintly orange, a Mako who wasn’t afraid of terrifying those that she became close to, a Mako that was respected for her wit and intelligence and beauty.
For Halloween night, Alice was Cinderella – whisked off by her fairy godmother to a different world where no one knew her name and pretend that she was the belle of the ball. Still, Alice knew the bell always chimed at midnight, no matter the wishes placed against the clock, and life when the morning’s sun rose through the waves would be as normal as it was any other day of the year.
On the night of ghosts and horror, the Mako that caused such others terror could blend in with her fellow inhabitants of Wonderland, plaster on a Cheshire smile and pull out pocket watch, sinking into the raw comfort that came with company that didn’t fear her on principal.
It was a bitter relief, she knew, but every year drew her back like a moth to flame; she couldn’t untangle the want that curled in her heart and begged for her to lower her icy guards to form friendships that would last, but Alice knew better.
Halloween was the one day Alice allowed herself the companionship of Mako other than Callimaco, and even before the end of the night she still found herself back at his side, moonlit hours slipping away between the two as she tried to release the misgivings she felt about trusting another.
She’d often seen Callimaco’s own defences raise against her, and both were to guarded to ever be able to trust the other, but how she wished – longed – to have that friendship, to be able to curl up beside Callimaco and not have him flinch or mentally question her intentions.
She wanted to be able to control her own instincts, to force herself to give into what her heart wanted instead of what her clever mind told her was safe, but she’d spent years tapering down on every disposition, training her mental senses to read and observe instead of letting her heart rule her head, and Alice had long since given up on ever being able to let that go.
Pushing the thoughts to the back of her mind angrily, annoyed at herself for thinking of such things while attempting to concentrate on finding an outfit, Alice scanned over the stalls with her grey eyes.
There! A touch of crimson red fluttered in the corner of her vision, and Alice’s eye was drawn to it before she even realised what she was looking at. The lightest up twitch of her mouth signalled to those paying close attention that she was amused, and the tip of her tail twitched as she stalked over to the fabric. Perfect! She hummed to herself smugly, mind already curling around ideas on how to work the fabric into a design worthy of a Halloween costume, and the Mako’s smile brightened just slightly in pride.
Now she just had to convince Callimaco to buy a parrot…
Oh well. She’d cross that bridge when she came to it.

-A pirate. Yes, like the sterotypical one with the parrot, not the actual evil ones, I assure you.-
Alice decided to rope Callimaco into being the captain-who's-not-really-the-captian of her pirate crew this year, and has such decided that she'll be the Navigator-who's-actually-the-captain. Though, of course, when explaining it to the Mako offering them candy or asking what their costumes were of, she kept it simple and answered with, 'My friend here is the Captain, and I'm the Navigator.'

Ends in a few hours or in the morning, but get your last-minute edits in now before I officially close it.

I would extend it, but I want to announce the winner on Halloween. I don't think extending it would give me that option anymore vuv
