Cithara happens to be a bass guitarist. She has loved music her entire life and can play a multiple number of instruments, but the guitar was the first she learned, so it always held a special place in her heart. Out of all of the other types of guitars, the bass was the winner for Cithara, because the sound the bass produces draws Cithara towards it and she has become addicted to the giutar's music.
Cithara's secrets:
Just as everyone else, Cithara too has her share of embarrassing secrets that she doesn't want anyone to know.
The secret that Cithara has kept for the longest time out of her other secrets, is that she is afraid of water. Cithara, of course, still drinks water, but is afraid of any body of water large enough for her to drown in. The water that most others find to be cool and refreshing and fun to splash around in, always scared Cithara from when she was little. The fact that water had the ability to take your life terrifies Cithara and because of this fear, she never learned to swim. As a child, her parents were hoping for Cithara to be a competitive swimmer or diver, and tried to force Cithara into the water. Even though it was a pool, Cithara had seen things on the television about dangerous fish, like sharks, in the water that attacked others. Cithara was young, so she believed that sharks were in any type of body of water, and her parents had never told her a thing about how to swim. Her parents finally got Cithara into the deep pool water by force, thinking and Cithara would learn how to swim from instinct. The parents were wrong and Cithara thrashed around in the blue water, sinking lower and lower. Cithara blacked out and nearly drowned to death that day, but still her parents were determined to get Cithara to be a self taught swimmer. Ever since, Cithara not only fears water, but hates it as well. She keeps this secret hidden by getting out of pool parties, pretending something had happened when someone asks her to get on a boat, and staying in the sand at beaches.
Another one of Cithara's secret, which has had the most affect on her life, is that Cithara ran away from her parents when she was ten. They were too strict on Cithara and never let anything fun or exciting happen to her. Her parents also forced her to do things that she hated or feared, and didn't seem to show much affection towards their daughter. The life she had with her parents was miserable and musicless, so she fled from them without turning back. Cithara was so much happier when she left from her parents, and discovered music for the first time. With discovering music, she also found that music was her muse and Cithara found the perfect profession for herself. This is a secret because she doesn't like to remember the past with her parents that she loathes and when anyone asks Cithara about her family she just replies with a 'I don't really want to talk about it'.
Finally, Cithara's most hated secret that she keeps is that she isn't strong enough to let others know about her secrets. This depresses Cithara, because it makes her believe she is weak and afraid. Cithara hates keeping petty things like her few secrets from others, but she is scared that if she tells them, they will turn away from her or laugh at her about them. Cithara hates keeping everything inside, but she believes she has to for her own good, which makes this secret eat her up inside at times.
