I am AmberSky345, a current non-owner hoping to win a Kia soon. Even if the chances are slim, I know I have to try out for this Kia. He just, well, I don't know why, but the moment I set my eyes on him I knew he was the one. The one I would pour my heart and soul into, even with the chance that I may lose him, I may waste pets on him, but at least I would know I had tried.

Darnell is this handsome Kia's name. It's from a surname, possibly derived from Old French darnel, a type of grass. Alternatively, it may be derived from Old English derne, "hidden" and halh, "nook". I chose this name because he reminded me of grass, yet had a certain twist to him that made me think of something hidden. Even with his bright colours, he may hide the biggest thing of all without anybody thinking so.

Darnell is, of course, a male. Even if you already specified this, I believe it needs to be said. Darnell is most definitely a male name, and I could not imagine him as being anything else but male. His beauty may sometimes be described as feminine, but Darnell is a straight male. He has nothing against other sexualities, but for him, he will only be satisfied with a female partner.


Birthday, Horoscope, and other diddly bits;;



Darnell's birthday is the 11th of September. This means his star sign is Virgo, one often associated with earth, caring and skill. This fits him perfectly, as his love of nature and lust to take care of it is something that makes him Darnell, not to mention his skill in many things. Another thing it is associated with is an over-thinking mind, which is exactly what Darnell has, secretly. Although he does not believe in horoscopes, he secretly loves the way they can be so precise, and it would not be hard to fool him into liking them. Just not as much as he likes luck.


Theme Song;;

After searching long and hard for a theme song, I chose Shooting Star by Owl City because it represents how he believes he has to shine! Darnell is a generally happy Kiamara, and I think it represents that side of his personality, the fact that everything the four leaf clover means, everything he lives for, is all closely linked to happiness. When you think about it, making himself happier is all Darnell really strives for in life.


Relations and Companions;;



Friend: Talon's Záporozo - Darnell's relationship with Zap is a friendly one, and although they are not best mates, they still look out for each other. He is still searching for that one special bro!
Friend and Crush: KatieisaPanda's Tsuri - Darnell is yet to figure out if this will be a long-time crush or just a little fling, but he is noticing that he thinks of her most days, although they are close friends...
He has no siblings, and does not know who his parents are. He is yet to find a best friend, but he will know him when he meets him. They will be funny but kind, and always up for a laugh!

As for a companion, Darnell has an animal friend called Thorne. They are not actually companions, Darnell prefers to either take it solo or stick with Kiamara friends - but it's not as if he would actually travel around with such a slow and lazy beast. Thorne is a retired fighter ram. Fighter ram? Sounds strange, but it's what he used to use in his rough past, when he was a fighter himself. But he doesn't like to talk much about that...

Likes and Dislikes;;

Darnell likes many things, as he is a generally positive Kiamara. Some are obvious, like the fact that he loves all things related to the four-leafed clover. He also likes the colour green, the number eleven, and all things related to grass and nature. Any time he is in a meadow, forest, wherever there is nature, he feels peaceful with himself and the world around him. It's like there is something special about the earth's natural resources that sends him to his enlightenment place. Apart from all things green and luscious, Darnell has a specific love of salad - although then again, that links into the green theme too!

Darnell dislikes quite a few things, but probably not as much as he likes. One thing he cannot stand is modern-day equipment wrecking nature, destroying forests and polluting air. He is 100% eco-friendly, and will lecture anyone that dares drop a piece of litter. Another thing he absolutely hates is fighting, and if you read further, you will find out why. Not only is it a horrible thing to do, but he has a certain history involved with fighting that he would much rather not talk about.


Hobbies;;

Darnell likes to do quite a lot in his free time, and you'll always find him busy doing something. The main thing he likes to do is sports. Keeping fit and healthy is especially important to Darnell, because it's something that is generally important if you want to live longer, but you can also have a lot of fun doing it. Making up fun ways to play and exercise is something he always enjoys doing. As well as keeping fit, Darnell has quite a love for music. He is a surprisingly good singer, and can always entertain you, whether it is comedy, singing, dancing, or even some sort of gymnastics/keep-fit show!

One unusual thing Darnell likes to do is a little sport he calls board-sliding. You basically get a skateboard, lie down on it and roll down a hill! It sounds easy, but when you make a few obstacles, put them in the way and then get a friend to race you, it becomes a whole lot more interesting! He has actually gained a few injuries from the activity, including temporary scratches from the time he fell into a bush of roses, all of which have healed now, and is constantly being bruised so often that there is no point keeping track! Most of them are hidden by his long fur though. Although the activity is a dangerous one, he loves it. There is so much danger and exhilaration to make the injuries feel all better!


Dreams and Nightmares;;

Darnell has lots of dreams, but an equal load of nightmares too. We'll start of with his dreams. Darnell dreams of many things, including world peace, to find the one he can truly love, and to have kids. Those are his most chased for dreams, but he has some slightly less sought-for ones too. Those include winning a race with the fastest Kiamara, going windsurfing and climbing mount Everest, all of which are sports related. He does love his sports! Another thing he loves is nature, and having a world rid of pollution is something else he dreams of.

Now for the darker bits, his nightmares. He has a few, like embarrassing himself in front of a girl, and waking up to a world destroyed by pollution and litter. But the one that wakes him up screaming at night is one where anonymous comes back to get him. Where he is sent back to the fighting institute to fight for his life, and he is beaten up and bruised once more. He hates to think about that, and you'll find out more about this as you read through this form. Oh, and he is also slightly claustrophobic.


Yes, I have flaws, problem?;;

So you've read about his likes, hobbies, and what makes him scream in the night. He may seem like a nice character, but we all have our flaws! Nobody is perfect, and don't worry, Darnell knows it!

Sometimes Danrell snaps angrily at others without thinking. It has grown more common to him, and he cannot control it. He does have a rough past, which is probably the reasons he has such random, short bursts of anger. Although they may be short, they are often rather serious, and can be very upsetting to other Kiamaras. Usually he stops himself straight after and comforts the recipient, but once said words cannot be undone, and they can often leave a lasting impression on his reputation.

Darnell also has a serious issue with trust. When he first meets somebody he will be extremely nice and seem totally fine, but he is actually evaluating the creatures every move. Calculating whether or not he can trust them in the few short seconds they meet. Furthermore, once his mind is made up, it takes one determined Kiamara to change it. To add onto that, when he has decided he can trust the creature, he is overly trusting, and it really hurts him when that trust is broken, even by a little bit, often leading to fallouts and creatures not liking him. He wishes he could change this in some way, but because of his background, it seems impossible.


A strange encounter;;

Now, here is an optional story, of around about six-hundred words. I know there is quite a lot of writing to read through on this form, and I have provided you with a story not key to Darnell's history, however, it will show you how he acts around others etc. It was a commission for Doctor Who;, who was trying out for the other character in this story. Here is the story:


Sun shone brilliantly through the canopy of trees, illuminating a delightful scene of harmony. Vibrant greens danced and reflected yellow on the rough surface of the towering trees, and the grass swayed to the wind’s chiming song. Everything in the emerald forest was serene and calming, relaxing your optics if you were lucky enough to take in the sight. One creature that was lucky enough was a dainty, sweet Kia, who stood crouched to the floor, her brunette fur tickling the earth while the grass engulfed her body. The marvellous, tan and orange patterns on her fur blended into the ground as her deep blue eyes scanned a bright ginger cat as it stalked its prey. To her, nothing much mattered but to play detective, the cat being her subject.

Unfortunately, she was not alone. Another being was also enjoying the forest delights, a patterned, green Kiamara with a mane resembling fluffy white clouds. He seemed to be strolling around almost aimlessly, probably taking in the full harmony of the nature that consumed him. Every saint-like step he took closer to the girl radiated pure bliss, and each moment in time seemed slower in his presence. But even he could not match the other Kiamara’s beauty, and soon they were inches away from each other.

“Hello,” the green one said, in a voice that sounded like velvet. However, even though the voice was so soft and soothing, it still made the femme jump, and as she did so, the cat scattered away on wobbly legs like a newborn learning to walk.

“Hey! You scared away the cat! Ugh, you would make such a terrible detective!” she huffed, long lashes framing her angered eyes.

“Sorry, sunshine!” the male soothed, not meaning to upset the other Kiamara. “And what might your name be?” he asked, hoping to sounds friendly.

“I’m Reese. Don’t disrupt me again – that was very annoying! But I suppose I would forgive you, if you told me who you were. I mean, I need to at least know who you are if I’m ever going to trust you!”

“Okay then, darling. I’m Darnell, I live around these parts. I’m really sorry to have upset you, and I hope we can start a new leaf. Leaves are wonderful things, actually, although everything belonging to Mother Nature is!” he spoke, voice clear and confident.

By now the wind had picked up its pace, and the trees swayed dangerously as its leaves were pulled to the ground. One single leaf landed on Darnell’s nose, tickling it, and he laughed at the coincidence. Reese, however, didn’t look so happy. She looked up at the dark sky, just as a drop of rain leaked from a cloud and splattered her eyelid. When Darnell looked over, it looked like Reese was crying.

“What’s wrong, Reese? Don’t you like the stormy weather?” he asked, as she shook her head with dismay. “Okay then, let’s get you some shelter.” He continued, as he slowly lead her through the overgrown forest to a dimly lit cave, listening to her constant talking, trying to understand the words she spoke speedily. It seemed to take forever to get there, and the rain was so miserable it was even affecting Darnell’s mood, which was quite a rare thing to happen. But they got there eventually, and both of them seemed to sigh with relief at the sight.

The cave walls were crumbling and damp, but it was the only shelter in the forest that Darnell knew of. He lay down and watched Reese copy, sniffing the moist, smelly air. It was a complete change from the forest, but he wanted to please Reese. Darnell actually hoped they could be friends, and it seemed they were already. They spent the rest of the night there, waiting impatiently for the rain to stop.

Being the jolly lad he is, Darnell took his time to write a few poems when he was bored. He didn't really take a liking to the art of poetry, but he still thought he was pretty good! So, here they are!

'The Clover'

Love is a season like summer or spring,
Full of life, hope and children on swings!
Luck is unknown like autumn or winter,
But along with faith it won't make you shiver!

'Be Mine'

Her eyes sparkle in the misty moonlight,
Her voice as soft as roses but prominent as the thorns,
If she hears me and turns it makes my heart smile,
That girl is you, so will you be mine?

'Love or a Crush'

I know it may sound cheesy but please look in my eyes,
Tell me what you see is that love?
Because when your heart skips softly but your brain don't agree,
You don't know if it's love or a crush.

Here we have an interview. The questions are all questions you may find in the fanclub, and seeing as I have no Kiamara to answer those questions, I thought it would be a nice feature to have in the form.

If this Kiamara could be compared to a real life celebrity, who would it be?

Although Darnell is not old, he is a little like David Attenborough. David Attenborough is a somewhat famous presenter who always presents on shows about the natural world. Darnell would make an excellent presenter, and as he has a strong love of nature, David Attenborough seemed to fit.

What Disney character is Darnell most like?

Darnell is mostly like peter pan! Peter pan is a jolly young lad who is not afraid of having an adventure, is forever young, and always tries to do things for good, not bad!

What event in Darnell's life made him who he is today?

When he left the battle institute is definitely a significant event in his life, as he discovered who he really was and why he was on the earth. It made him appreciate life more and see the good things in life!

Are there any little things that are not important but help shape Darnell's personality?

His love of nature does shape his personality a lot, as well as his ability to see the finer things in life. Always look on the bright side!

When you think of him, what word comes to mind?

Smexy is the first word that comes into my mind! After that it would probably be nature though, as it is something he is most passionate about.

What animal is most similar to Darnell?

Darnell isn't similar to any animal! He is completely unique in his own special way, and nothing could really be matched to his personality perfectly. The most similar thing to Darnell is Darnell!!!

Which element would Darnell be most likely to control?

Earth, of course! It is an obvious question, but it needed to be put in to show he has a true, crystalline clear love and adoration for the wonders of the natural world!


How he obtained his feathers;;

Having no memories of having a mother or father, Darnell never obtained his feathers from his parents. Everybody else had them, and he felt left out, so at the age of two he went on a hunt to get them. The weather was searing hot and though his fur clung to him with sweat, he was determined.

Darnell was resting under a big, shaded tree when he found them. Before him was a shockingly blue bird, but unfortunately, it’s time had come and most of it had been eaten, so all that was remaining were the unsettlingly stunning feathers. Before thanking the bird he took six of them and threaded them through the string he had brought with him, and tied them to several locations of his body. He even pierced his ears to make up for the birds lost life, and from then on could proudly walk around with six beautiful feathers.

What? Huh? Oh, erm, hi! *Thinks for a while, and decides to trust you*

I don't mean to be rude at all, but why did you have to wake me up? I'm very busy, you know, and I have to get sleep or I won't be active enough tomorrow! I'm actually planning on doing a board-sliding race with a few mates, but I need to get some training in too if I'm going to keep fit like I am now! See these muscles? That kind of thing only comes from hard work. Oh, sorry if I'm boasting, I did not mean too at all!

So, you want to know a bit about me? Well, I live in the moment, you only live once and I want that to count! I will do what I love when I want too, and nobody will ever stop me! Well... actually, I would hate to make anybody upset, everybody deserves a second chance. Or more... Even the creature that beat me up when I was weak, and un-chivalrous thing to do, led me to be who I am, which proves that everything has a silver lining!

Anyway, you've heard enough about me for now! If you don't mind, I would like to get back to sleep now!

Darnell is a somewhat confident character. He appears to be a completely normal, but he, like all beings, hides something. There isn't much of a reason to hide his past, but he does, mainly because he hates it. That was a long time ago, so he may as well not speak of it and live his life happily, with love, luck, hope and faith.

One thing Darnell strives for is love. He believes there is someone out there that is just right for him, and he needs to find them before somebody else does. That is one of the many reasons Darnell is such a flirt, but not a player or a jerk. He's not the type of guy that flirts with all of the girls and dumps them randomly, breaking hearts everywhere. No, that is not the case. He simply dates every single girl who seems like they might be the one, and if they are not, he'll dump them in the nicest way possible. After all, it is quite fun flirting a little and living the life of a handsome charmer!

Luck is also something Darnell seems to be ever so closely related to. Wherever he goes it seems to follow him, and without it he would probably be dead. There have been many incidents where he has had to rely on luck to save him, and this has caused him to be almost superstitious. Not 'don't walk under a ladder' or 'Friday 13th' superstitious, but more, 'it wasn't me, it was my luck' or 'this is my lucky charm' superstitious. So, of course, he has a lucky number, colour and charm. Eleven, green and a four leaf clover, actually. Never once will he leave his den without touching his four leaf clover charm, made out of some sort of marble-like material.

Darnell is also quite a hopeful Kiamara. Positivity is something he radiates, and even from afar, you can tell by the lightness of his walk that he is a cheerful lad. Just like luck, he has to have lots of hope to be who he is. Without it there is a good chance Darnell would be miserable, but because he is hopeful about life, optimistic that he can get through things, it makes him generally quite happy. Of course, being hopeful has it's downfalls, because when you have so much hope in something and it lets you down, it can be hard to trust them again.

You're probably guessing the theme here, so let me explain about Darnell's closeness to faith. He's not a religious Kiamara, so his faith is not in god, but more in the fact that if he follows what he believes in, then he will succeed in life. If he has faith in his family, friends, and all the creatures he knows he can trust, then he will achieve all his goals in life, and be truly happy with himself. After all, nobody wants to be sad and miserable, so it's better to have faith in life and be joyful!

Darnell's story;;

This is what you've been waiting for - the story that shaped Darnell. It all happened a while ago, but it will never leave his brain. This is what he keeps hidden; if anyone was to find out, who knows who would be challenging to fights?

Darnell, a small green figure with large muscles, several scars and a wicked glint in his eye, stood in the chilly, sinister alley. The alley dripped musky, off-colour water and the stench was unbearable to most. But Darnell wasn’t ‘most’. He stretched his body out as he assessed his earlier victory, bathing in the glory that was he. Although Darnell was weakened, he still felt a rush of elation as he thought back to what his life would be like without the battles.

The battles were the only thing Darnell knew. When he was younger, he was picked up of the street, all battered and abused, by a stranger with no name. Everyone called him ‘anonymous’. Anonymous was head of the battle institute, where Kiamara’s like Darnell were trained up to fight for food. Being an orphan incapable of looking after himself he had no choice but to fight in these championships, or he would already be dead. But, as he did not know anything else, it was normal to him. Darnell liked being strong and victorious – he liked it a lot. Craved it, would be a more suitable word.

Others didn’t like him so much. In fact, because everyone their relied on the battles to give them food, they all despised Darnell for being so good. Maybe a few of them would have liked him if he wasn’t so cocky, but every night after his victory, he would gloat. To make it even worse, the starved battlers would grow weaker and weaker each night, as Darnell grew even stronger. There was only one Kiamara that he had never battled, and he was the only Kiamara who would possibly be able to beat him in a fight.

Looking steadily along, Darnell decided he needed to take a walk. He had just fought with a pretty tough competitor, and he had to wait a while to get his food at the prize-giving. Walking was one thing he liked to do outside of fighting, it helped him stay strong and healthy. His muscles needed something else to train him aside from the intense training anonymous gave him.

As he neared an opening, he felt a tap on his back. Darnell turned around, but it all he saw was a paw flying towards his face.

The fight was short, and the details too blurry for him to remember. The next thing he knew, he was lying in a green field away from his ‘home’, under the shade of a tree, and hidden in the long grass. Engraved in the tree was a four-leaved clover, the marks fresh and wobbly. Darnell looked up at the sky, and realised he was stupid. He was wrong about being the best, and all his life he had missed out on nature, missed out on this. He swore to himself to live by the rules of the four-leaf clover, but it was still hard for him to move on.

But he did.

The origin of this name comes from a native american tribe close to were I live.It comes from the Ojibwa tribe the believed that every name had a true meaning.Just like this one. Keeway means coming and Gaaboo means home. Put them together and it's Keeway Gaaboo or Coming home.His nickname Keeway doesn't have a meaning truley but it's still nice to hear.

Personality:
Keeway is one shy boy!He doesn't really like to talk with other Kias or work with them but this is because he likes to be independent and alone most of the time.
