name: Lucija is a very popular Croatian girls name. It means light. It is pronounced lou-see-yah.
gender: Female
her culture/heritage: Lucija is from the country of Croatia. Croatia is located here on the map, right next to Italy. Lucija is known as a Croat, and her native language is Croatian, though she knows English as well. She lived in a small jam that resided by the coast where some argue Croatia is the most beautiful. Her father was a sailor and Lucija was practically rasied on a boat. She sailed with her father on the Adriatic Sea since she was a toddler and she understands ships, boats, and the sea better than most. Lucija loves her country, it is folksy and though she does not live there anymore, she makes sure to visit every year and participate in the many folk dances and festivals held there. Agriculture is the most important industry. Though she loved the rich tradition of Croatia, Lucija always wanted to explore the world. She felt stuck there, and had a burning desire to travel and see other countries traditions and cultures. On her 21st birthday, Lucijas father gave her the family boat. On the very same day, she sailed away to go to new places.

Only when the last tree has died, ♣ ♣ ♣

And the last fish has been caught, ☠ ☠ ☠
Will we realise that we cannot eat money.

username: hello! Im olivionary, or Livi for short.
name: I've decided to name this cutie, Aiyana Cherokee. Aiyana and Cherokee are both Native American names and together they mean 'Forever Blossoming People'. I think they sounds really cute and they have a very strong meaning. Aiyana was given her name because of the blossoming trees around her egg during hatching and the ever changing technology of man.
    gender: Female.
her culture/heritage: Aiyana's family are Native American and are very close to the world around them. They are viewed as Wild Jellybean Dragons, however her family have been kept as pets in the past. She generally speaks in English, however does know several other languages (but not all are fluent). She adores the stories which are expressed through dance - her favourite dance being that of the Buffalo. Aiyana lives dancing and story telling in general, but when combined with feathers, beads and other jewellery, the stories become almost magical. She also enjoys making the traditional attire for both humans and Jellybean Deagons alike, but doesn't thrive. She much prefers making turquoise jewelery and making little carvings as toys for the younger ones of the Tribe and Jam.
Aiyana and her Jam live among the Stockbridge-Munsee tribe(originally the Mahican tribe and Munsee tribe) which currently reside in Wisconsin. She has heard of the Mohican Tribes devastation as they were forced out of both New York and Massachusetts, while being followed by her Jam to find a permanent home.

I chose Native American because she looks very natural and earthy - her fur reminds me of a tree. I think the struggles that some tribes were put through are very moving, especially when you think of all the devastation British/American people have caused to their families. I personally love the Native American culture and respect what they have been put through as a group of people.

female

ʜᴇʀɪᴛᴀɢᴇ:
Leah hails from Jamaica.
Her heavy accent gives it away immediately, and her peculiar pronunciation of certain words can lead to questions about her heritage. The explanation she usually gives goes something like this:
"Jamaica is a small country, it's a little island, but there are lots of people. Where I live, it's a small town, everyone knows everyone. Music is a big part of us, a big part of who we are. The music and the dance bring us together, no matter who we are. It's a community, the music."
As you may have guessed, music is very important to Leah. She carries her iPod in her pouch everywhere she goes, listening to reggae, especially Bob Marley. She also spends a lot of time dancing, be it slow music or fast. Leah dances around her jamaican restaurant, serving the traditional dishes she has learned to make. These include spiced buns, her personal favourite.

name: Abbadon ; her colors are gorgeous, and they remind me of abbadon from supernatural ;3 however their personalities would be completely different.

      gender: Female, no change

her culture/heritage: Abbadon is from Russia; the religious part culture is similar to the pagan beliefs of the East Slavs, although deeply modernized. She also carries characteristics (non-religious) from the people under the Soviet Union.

name: Titaia (Tie-aya) it is a Greek name, said to be cognate with Sanskrit tithá, "fire," from Aryan tith, "to burn." In mythology, this is the name of the mother of the Titans who were named after her; therefore possibly another name for Gaia (Earth).
gender: Female
her culture/heritage: Titaia's heritage comes all the way from Madagascar WIP

❥Elysee

Some nights the sky wept stars that quickly floated and disappeared into the darkness before our wishes could meet them.

W h a t ' s . I n . A . N a m e ? :
    Elysee, the French word
    for "heaven" or "Paradise"
    or perhaps "Eden".
    Elysee (the bean) comes from
    Sierra Leone, in West Africa.
    Centuries ago, the French had
taken over parts and bits of Africa,
    forever leaving their mark on
    the land, people, and culture.
    Elysee's mother cherished the
    French heritage, since she was
    of some French descent. Though
    Elysee's mother loved the wide
    variety of African names to
    choose from, she eventually
chose a French name for her
    baby daughter.

When I was young,
my father used to say, ‘If you are
alive, there is hope for a better day
and something good to happen.
If there is nothing good left in the
destiny of a person,
he or she will die.’
I thought about
these words during
my journey, and
they kept me moving
even when I didn’t
know where I was
going. Those words
became the vehicle
that drove my spirit
onward and made it stay alive.

-----Image

That night for the first time in my life I realized that it is the physical presence of people and their spirits that gives a town life. With the absence of so many people, the town became scary., the night darker, and the silence unbearably agitating. Normally, the crickets and the birds sang in the evening before the sun went down. But this time they didn't, and the darkness set in very fast. The mood wasn't in the sky; the air was stiff, as if nature itself was afraid of what was happening.

W h e r e . D o . Y o u . C o m e . F r o m ? :
Elysee is of the Mende ethnic group, one of the two largest tribes in Sierra Leone. Her parents were farmers, like most people in the Mende group. Their family is part of the secret society, or hale. Though most of the Mende speak their own Mende Language, Elysee likes to use Lingua Franca to speak, since it is a combination of a broad range of European languages that she finds intriguing. The Mende Language looks something like this: Numuvuisia Kpɛlɛɛ ta ti le tɛ yɛ nduwɔ ya hu, tao ti nuvuu yei kɛɛ ti lɔnyi maa hɛwungɔ. Kiiya kɛɛ hindaluahu gɔɔla a yɛlɔ ti hun. Fale mahoungɔ ti ti nyɔnyɔhu hoi kia ndeegaa. (Translation: All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights. They are endowed with reason and conscience and should act towards one another in a spirit of brotherhood.)

    Image

Elysee's father is an African farmer, born and raised in the Mende tribe. He married one of the French missionaries that came a few decades ago, a French young lady (at the time). She was fascinated by all the unique parts of the Mende culture, and she was eager to become part of the African family.

Part of the Mende culture are the masks that they make. Elysee loves making these masks, as it brings out the beauty in women in their society. Elysee enjoys carving the masks from Hojo, which is a white clay Mende women use to make pottery. She then paints and decorates the mask in deep detail. Music and arts are important to Elysee's people, and she loves dancing to the "folk" and "traditional" music of Sierra Leone. The French roots in her are deep, but do not run deeper than the African ones. She enjoys French food and values the beautiful French language, but she goes no further than that, since her mother (who is French) loves the Mende culture as well.

    Image

The bird on top of the head represents a woman's natural intuition that lets her see and know things that others can't. The high or broad forehead represents good luck or the sharp, contemplative mind of the ideal Mende woman. Downcast eyes symbolize a spiritual nature and it is through these small slits that a woman wearing the mask would look out of. The small mouth signifies the ideal woman's quiet and humble character. The markings on the cheeks are representative of the decorative scars girls receive as they step into womanhood. The scars are a symbol of her new, harder life. The neck rolls are an indication of the health of an ideal women. They have also been called symbols of the pattern of concentric, circular ripples the Mende spirit makes when emerging from the water. In the Mende culture full-figured women are beautiful.

Hi there, I'm Airplane! Nice to meet you. (again lol)

Image

The name I chose is Ruby. It's actually a British name, but I chose this name due to her brilliant red color.

Image

Definitely a female JBD.

Image

Ruby is Cajun French, born and raised! The early roots of her family
are planted in Nova Scotia, Canada, but her great-great-great grandfather
migrated from there to Gonzales, Louisiana- a town near Baton Rouge.
Ruby loves her family's culture. She loves to visit old plantation homes and learn
more and more about her own history. Ruby is Catholic, and very religious. Ruby also loves to visit
the entertainment capital of Louisiana- New Orleans! Music means a lot to Ruby, so she
and this lively city makes a good match. Ruby loves everything about her heritage:
the culture, traditions, stories, holidays (Mardi Gras!), and especially the food.
Ruby speaks a little bit of French, and speaks her english with a very thick southern
accent. She dreams to visit Nova Scotia someday, and achieve her dream of seeing something
she's never seen before with her own eyes: SNOW!

Hello quq I'm Mai~I'm currently a Nonowner.

I decided to name her Alyssa. (I was quite surprised to not be able
to find the name in the archives xD) Its a name of German origin;
directly translating to 'of the noble sort'. I felt this fit her because of her
beautiful coloring.

I'd decided that this lovely girl will be Australian. Specifically from the state of Queensland that borders the Great Barrier Reef. I wanted her to be near this wonderful coral reef because of the diverse species and gorgeous colors that can only be found there. She can trace her roots back to the original settlers of Australia; from German roots. Queensland has many indigenous cultures; and she loves to try to partake in all of them. There are many tourists because of the beautiful sights to see under the water; and I'd love to imagine her as a tour guide to any who'd be willing to learn. She is particularly interested in the natural medicines and herbal cures of the native tribes and the huge stone artworks preserved through centuries.

Username;;
I am winter storm., formerly Phoenix Burn, owner of four JBDs. I frequent the fanclub chat and used to be Captain Luna.

Image

Name;;
I would name this gorgeous bean Fraise, meaning Strawberry in French.

Gender;;
Fraise is female.

    Image

    Her culture/heritage;;
Fraise is from the Seychelles, and lived there until she was 15, when she then moved to London, but her heart will always stay in the Seychelles. She visits there regularly and stays in the house that she has over there. She loves the landing part as she gets to watch her beloved home get closer and closer until she bumps on the ground and feels at home. She loves the bus journey from the airport to her home, getting more and more excited. When she gets off that bus, she feels like she's at home again and she is reminded why she loves the Seychelles so much.

In the day, she always loves the weather. Sometimes it rains, and Fraise loves the freshness that everything has after the rain, the lucious life of the plants. Sometimes it's sunny and she loves to just relax on the beach and snooze. She is an avid swimmer and near her there is a large resort with a pool and so what Fraise does is she waltzes in and uses their pool! The staff have always thought she was a resident! Her father taught her that trick and so she does feel a little melancholy afterward sometimes.

During the night, she loves it even more though. She always gets these funny looking lizards on her walls in the evenings and loves to sketch them, and just watch how they move. She almost feels like they are company for her. It has always fascinated her as to why they are gone in the morning. She never sees them leave. She also enjoys sitting at her balcony, that overlooks the sea and just watching the ocean when the tide has come in quite far. The tide will come in and leave fish flailing on the sands for a few seconds until it comes in again and sweeps them all away, back into the ocean. She likes to have a solitary giggle at this. Finally, she often likes to go for swims in the evening, in the warm sea by her house. Sometimes she'll just let herself float, looking up at the glowing white stars.

She usually stays for around a month or two when she visits her homeland, and every time she leaves, she is reluctant to do so, as she always remembers just how much she loves and connects with her origins.
