Day: 13
Choice of Ingredients: (ONLY ONE of each) Small Limes/ Cursola Shed/Gold Leaf/Volbeat Shimmer
Bake!:
It was late afternoon.
“Good thing Myth let us use her kitchen.” Fawkes mused. The Sylveon was busy laying on the floor in the other room, exhausted with a lovely case of hand cramps from doodling.
“Yeah… but remember what they said. Don’t burn anything.” Fate reminded the Zorua, throwing down a cookbook.
“No promises. It’s happened before.” Fawkes smiled.
“Well, Myth said to try to not let it happen. Again.” Sakurune threw a croissant from Myth’s counter at Fawkes, who half-consciously lit one of their paws on fire, catching the croissant and reducing it to ash.
“Fawkes!” Sakurune sighed as Arcane used their wings to fan the fire and smoke out.
“Oops… I wasn’t trying! I rarely try to commit fire crimes!” The Zorua laughed sheepishly.
“Sure…” Sakurune sighed, stuffing her mouth with another unburnt croissant.
“Arcane, you have the ingredients?” Fate asked the Aerodactyl. The ground and flying type nodded.
“Right here.” Arcane said, emptying their satchel of the ingredients the four of them had collected over the past week or so: Volbeat Shimmer for charm, Gold Leaf for zesty fun, Cursola Shed for a cool color, and Small Limes for taste.
The Pokemon began making the pie dough, following Auntie’s recipe as best as they could. Luckily, Myth had made them a very basic pie crust dough to add to, given that the recipe called for it to rest for a bit.
“Right. Now we toast this for a bit… hm.” Sakurune frowned, looking at Fawkes, then back to the oven. Trying to decide which one would be the best option.
“Allow me.” Fate said, taking the pie outside, only to come back in immediately, “Uh. Does anyone know Sunny Day? If not, I’ll have to wake Myth up.” Then someone caught her eye, “I’ll be back!”
Minutes later the Vulpix walked back in, carrying a lightly toasted, still uncooked pie crust. “Stella was walking home. So Sunny Day and a light Weather Ball… and yeah.” The Vulpix explained.
Arcane, who was working on the filling, nodded, “Bring it over here!” They said. Together, the four began scooping the filling into the crust. After which, Fate took outside once more to lightly toast it again. Then Sakurune used her psychic powers to lower the top of the pie onto the rest of it. Fawkes and Arcane carefully pressed down the edges with flameproof forks.
“Now… into the oven!” Sakurune cheered, snatching the pie away from an already-partially-on-fire Fawkes.
They group waited, and when the timer dinged, pulled what was supposed to be the pie out.
“Where did it go?” Arcane asked, scratching their head. All that was in the oven was the pie pan.
Sakurune rolled her eyes, “Remember Cursola Shed makes things invisible?”
“Are we sure about that though? Maybe I should light it on fire to make sure…” Fawkes piped up.
“FAWKES. NO!”
