"Trees?" Tiger asked Snow. "I don't know, Snow. I'll try my best, but I doubt I'll win."

Tiger was going to drop out, when she heard a voice.

Dropping out, are we? a stunning Chartreux cat was standing in front of her, sparkling. I see you do not recognise me? I am one of your Tribe's ancestors. My name is Frost Of Winter Time.

"Yes, I-I am dropping out. Soon." Tiger stuttered, looking at the ghostly cat. "I didn't know what breed of cat you were, Frost. I'm sorry, I never really asked anyone. It's not in our history lessons.."

Well, the stars sent me here to help you prepare. Frost smiled warmly. I know you want to win. We could have a competition all to ourselves, only us two. Just for fun?

Tiger returned the smile. "Thanks, Frost! It'd be great if you could give me some tips first, though."

Alrighty! First things first, choose a sturdy tree before the competition starts. You'll want to have a steady climbing surface! Frost grinned. Secondly, grip the tree trunk and push yourself up with your rear legs, and do the same thing again and again quickly. You'll soon reach the top!

"Thanks, Frost!" Tiger's eyes sparkled with awe. "I know you're a really good tree-climber, so don't expect me to win over you!"

A cat can dream! Frost smiled. Now, we start in three, two, one, go!

Tiger leaped onto the tree, and started climbing it with all her might. After a few seconds, she was watching Frost climb the last part of her tree.

See? You won over me! Frost laughed. I'm sure you'll do great. Even if you don't win, you'll definitely be better than a lot of cats there. And, remember - believe in yourself.

Tiger and Frost climbed down their trees, and sat there.

Frost gave Tiger one last warm smile, and faded.

"I'm ready!" Tiger told herself. "I can do this."

Swallowflight sat and watched a few of the other campers climb. After getting tangled up in the lake he decided to be more careful this time.

As he watched the others he plotted the best course up the tree. Once he thought he was sure about the path he began his climb, testing each claw hold as he went.

Art/Blurb: Hal wasn't the least bit scared of climbing, or heights. Admittedly, he'd been a rambunctious kit, always scaling up trees everyone else said were too tall for him. He'd had a dream before, too, to live in a tree-den and sleep among the stars.

He had given up on that later, finding that it was too lonely after a while. The other cats he had met all preferred to stay on the ground more.

But now? He felt a rush of nostalgia as he leapt up, getting a good grip on the trunk with his claws, and shimmied his way up in a flash.

Rattle Snake just stared at the huge tree they had found for a while after the idea to climb it was suggested. He had climbed hundreds of rocks at home, but that was a whole different thing. He was familiar with the red rocks that surrounded his home, not with trees. There weren't very many trees near the town unless you traveled for a long while, and the trees close by were dead and dry and brittle.

But you know what? He had spent way too much of camp being scared to try new things, he was going to climb this tree and he was going to get to the top faster than everybody else. He was determined. He had plenty of practice climbing rocks, he was incredibly good at it, and he could use those skills to climb trees. It should be easy, there were more places he could hook his paws in, and he could actually use his claws here where he couldn't with rocks. And with having some time to plan a route to get up the tree as fast as he could, he felt like he had a pretty good chance.

Blurb/art: honeybee stared up at the large tree that loomed above. she had managed to scale a few small trees before, but it wasn't often that she needed to. despite the abundance of trees in valleyclan's territory, she never really attempted to climb those before. they were usually too tall, and their branches were much higher than she was comfortable with. at least the branches on this one looked a bit sturdier. though she wasn't very confident that she would make it very far up, it wouldn't hurt to try! she had stepped outside her comfort zone so much already, and she was determined not to let this stop her.

koalatuft was great at climbing trees! being surrounded by large palms and different tropical trees in the jungle meant that he was basically trained in tree climbing. he took a running start, latching onto the base of the tree with his claws, starting his way up to the first low branch. once he reached it, he took a moment to catch his breath before starting to climb the tree again. it did take a little bit, because maybe when he said he was great ar climbing trees he really meant he was good, but he reached the top like he planned to! maybe not first, but that’s alright!

Trees weren't exactly common among the land of Altan, however, there were mountains! Even the trees that did exist among Khafra's territory, they weren't tall - taller than a cat, sure, but they certainly had nothing in comparison to these; which towered above her and others. Maplewish was ready for the challenge even so, unsheathing her claws and digging them into the bark of the tree. It was then that she began to push herself upwards, as quickly as she could! It was almost like running in a way, except vertically! And carefully, of course.

Sundew was brilliant at balancing, sure, but climbing? Not so much. The Cats of The Round Table's camp was mostly open, and while Sundew did climb the winding steps of their castle home frequently, a tree, especially one this size, was quite different. There was no rythem to climbing a tree (the cat didn't have much rythem to begin with with their steps, but that's aside the point) and the size of this one was very daunting. She wasn't convinced that she could even come back down if she went up!

"Maybe I'll just stay down here" is what she said.

She said this, of course, already climbing up the bark and branches of this beast of a tree. If only he would have thought of that before he started hauling himself up, not too sure exactly what he was doing at all!

The easily distracted cat was doing her best to stay focused, but every little shake of a branch or bristle of a leaf caught her attention, causing her to take this journey up ten times as slower than it could have taken.

She had gotten herself into this situation and quite frankly, she wasn't sure how to get out so she kept going upwards. She'd get to the top.. eventually. Maybe the view would be worth it, she knew that for sure. Or maybe she'd discover a new fear of heights. It was a mystery!
