Day: 11
Choice of Ingredient(s): Flavor; Apples (crisp)/Color;Sattreon (gold)/Aroma; Sweet Wood (cinnamon/cardamom)/Charm; Chopple Berry (warming)
Prompt(s):
Red lifted himself up to the table and organized his ingredients, making sure to only get as much as he needed, especially when it came to the ingredients that he had a bit too much of. With the Apples, Applin Cider, Sweet Wood, Chopple Berries, and Sattreon all laid out, he got ready to make this pie alongside Auntie. He looked a bit nervous, staring at all of the ingredients in front of him. In fact, he couldn't help but worry that he might've gotten something wrong... what if Cinnamon and Apple wasn't as good as he's always heard? What if the gold coloration made people think it was a lemon pie, ruining their experience? What if the warming effect of the chopple berries was too much and someone got hurt? He was stuck in his head for a good few minutes until Auntie noticed, lightly patting his head and reassuring him that he'd done great so far just getting the ingredients. Red smiled, and nodded, now ready to get started on the pie and hopefully make something that was good enough to share. Maybe he should have tried for a generous charm instead? He worried again momentarily before remembering that he had done good so far! He tried not to worry as he began putting the ingredients together.
While Auntie worked on the crust, taking the Sattreon with her, Red was left to mix ingredients to make the pie filling- thankfully he knew somewhat what he was doing, at least when it came to apple pie. He carefully cut three of the apples he had gotten into small pieces, putting them into a bowl and working from there, pouring in some of the applin cider. He needed a moment to grind up the chopple berries so that they wouldn't clash too much texturally with the apples, but once that was one he added that in as well, followed quickly by a bit of ground sweet wood as well to make sure that the inside smelled of cinnamon. He then added some additional things around Auntie's kitchen that were just to make the process smoother and make it so that the cider wasn't the only liquid-like material in the bowl.
Once it had been mixed to Red's liking, he poured the mixture into the pie crust with Auntie's help, then allowing auntie to finish off the actual pie crust shape, and then allowing Red to sprinkle some more of the ground chopple berries and sweet wood on the dough to hopefully bake in well enough- but knowing Red, he most likely would sprinkle even more when it came out of the oven. Anything having to do with the oven was of course Auntie's job, as Red was too young to operate an oven by himself. However, he couldn't help but sit in front of the oven and watch the pie as it baked.
