I pick a fairly sized nut and rest it in my hand as Smokestripe noms on it.

Feeds Smokestripe a worm, then he practices flying.

Arrives to see Smokestripe diving and flying about, and puts her arm out so he can land on it. When he lands I take a few chestnuts and put them in my palm and watches his curious eyes focused on the chestnuts.

I visit each Aegolius every day, so they will be happy and healthy!

I return once again to see Smokestripe has gotten bigger. I toss him a couple of grapes and watches as he flys around.

Thanks! I feed Smokestripe a walnut and pet him across the beak.

Skips over to Smokestripe. "You've gotten bigger!" I say. I feed him a couple of pears and watch him fly around the trees.

Smokestripe now fly's around everywhere, and catches mice. I still feed him though, because he is not very good at it yet. He made a nest out of the first blanket I gave him when he was an egg, twigs, and sometimes he will find twine. This nest is in my attic, on the windowsill. If Smokestripe is out flying, I will put food in his nest. For some reason, Smokestripe doesn't like pealed oranges, he likes it with the skin! Sometimes Smokestripe helps me when I am baking cookies. When I forget to take something out of the shelf, he gets it for me! Isn't that sweet? *Feeds orange, non pealed. Then pets him on the beak.*

He's now officially grown up!

I find Smokestripe circling a chipmunk. I watch as he dives, and and catches it. He is fully grown and very independent. I place a non-peeled orange at the base of the tree and continues to watch him.
