The jellyfish called Turritopsis dohrnii has been dubbed the immortal jellyfish because it can revert to a younger polyp form after reaching its fully-grown state. Of course, Turritopsis dohrnii isn't truly 'immortal'. They can still be consumed by predators or killed by other means. However, their ability to switch back and forth between life stages in response to stress means that, in theory, they could live forever.

The Natural History Museum of the University of Zurich had a taxidermy unicorn on display; I'm not sure if it's still there though. I took a photo with it 5 years ago.
Not the typical fact but it's certainly fun.

i would like to talk about manatees, as they are my favorite animal and live in the ocean! (i consider the gulf to be part of the ocean) you can often see people hanging hoses off their docks, and manatees drinking the fresh water. this is actually illegal in the state of florida, as it can change their behaviour (and migration patterns - which could kill them!!!) anyways, save the manatees <3

There are armored lava snails in the ocean! They have been found in the Indian Ocean, near 3 different hydrothermal vents, which are basically giant cracks in the ocean floor that releases super heated water. These vents are also mineral rich and by absorbing iron sulfides from the water, they can grow shells that are partially made of iron and have small iron 'scales' over their bodies to protect them from the heat. The 3 populations all look a little different because the minerals released from each of the vent sites are all slightly different.

One of the largest great white sharks ever recorded is a female that's named Deep Blue! She's huge, about 6.1m (20 ft.) long and is roughly 60 years old. She's known to be very calm and not aggressive in a variety of videos. She's notably chonky, implying she's been previously pregnant, and has a large scar across her right side. She was even featured on shark week! So, she's quite the celebrity. She's been spotted around Guadalupe Island, Mexico, and Oahu, Hawai'i.
