Meelis was having fun at the beach when she noticed a chicoon digging here and there. The ever curious Meelis bounced over to the chicoon to say introduce herself. The chicoon quickly introduced himself as Mars and told her he was looking for a place to hide his treasure. Her eyes beamed at the sound of treasure and imagined a glittering necklace adorned with pretty gemstones... Ah how she wished she had it... But it was unlikely that that was Mars' treasure. Maybe it was a box full of old trinkets and coins? A bar of gold? She wasn't sure, but she was excited to help him out.

Part 2: Where do you think is an excellent spot to bury it?
Meelis crooked her head as she watched Mars digging more holes. She wondered why Mars is trying to find a hiding place at the beach. The winds and the waves and, if not them, the constant traffic of chicoons will definitely make it hard to keep the treasure hidden below. Instead she suggested to bury it deeply near one of the big trees nearby. It would make it easier to find the spot and the roots will keep the treasure protected from other things.

Part 3: Write about your chicoon discovering a few good hiding spots
Meelis decided to search for some nice spots for Mars to bury his treasure. She went around the beach looking for firm big trees. During the search, she found a tree that had a small hollow near the base - a perfect place to hide, Meelis noted. Maybe if the entrance was covered with grass and leaves, it would be perfect for the treasure.

Prompt 1: I think Mars' treasure is a small keepsake of some kind. Probably something with a lot of sentimental value, such as an item that was a gift from a friend.

Prompt 2: I think the best spot to bury the treasure is somewhere out of the way enough that most people never go anywhere near it, to decrease the chances of someone stumbling upon it by accident. Still, it should be a memorable enough spot that Mars won't forget where it is, because otherwise it might end up lost forever. If there's a place Mars likes to go to be alone, that no one else knows about, that would probably be the best option.

Prompt 3: Sara is eager to help Mars when she finds out about him looking for a good place to hide a treasure. They walk along the beach, looking for areas that are well hidden by either plants or large rocks. Sara figures either would be helpful when it comes to concealing something, since unless someone looks really closely, they would hide the fact something is buried there. First, she approaches a cluster of bushes. If Mars can manage to dig a hole between them and bury his treasure there, it would be quite well hidden since most people would not think to go digging around in a cluster of bushes. Plus, it would be quite easy to find the treasure again since there aren't many clusters of bushes along the beach.
The next spot Sara finds is in a small cave near the edge of the beach. This seems like a good hiding place since it's quite out of the way, but would be very easy for Mars to remember. The soil inside the cave would be easy to dig up and put back in place as well, making this spot a good one to consider if Mars wants to retrieve the treasure frequently.
Finally, Sara heads over to some palm trees lining the beach. Mars could always bury the treasure next to one of these, and it would be almost guaranteed no one would find it, though unless he marked the tree somehow he might forget which one he chose to hide it under... Still, it's an option if he wants to try it.

Wes spots a harried chicoon trundling up and down the beach, seeming to be carrying a sack of something heavy. When he bounds over and sees it's Mars, he honks a bit and waves his wings in greeting. Being met with Mars' scoff was nothing new to Wes, he powers on, asking what the blue chicoon was doing. Mars looks left and right, then shows Wes what he's carrying... A load of sea glass! all different colors, shapes, and sizes greet Wes' eyes, and some almost sparkle in his eyes. Mars closes the burlap bag hurriedly, ears flapping in mild distress as he looks up and down the beach. Wes notices they're garnering a little attention. Mars bounces the bag, silently asking what to do with it...

Wes strokes the feathers on his neck, when an idea pops into his head. He feels he knows this place pretty well, so finding a hiding spot for Mars' treasure should be pretty easy. Wes waves Mars, asking him to follow. They trudge off in search of the first spot Wes had to offer.

Wes finally brought them to a far corner of the beach, where the forest comes close to the water line. Pushing into the trees a bit, the ground was still a bit sandy, but also scattered around were rocks that hurt to walk on. This would mean the area is less traveled! Mars looked about, giving a little dig of the area to see how he felt about the ground. He honked approvingly, and Wes helped to dig a fairly deep hole to place the sack into. When it was covered again, Mars nodded approvingly, and tapped Wes' shoulder with his tail in thanks. Wes grinned, put a finger to his lips, and bounded away.

Wes first led Mars to a hollowed out tree just inside the treeline. He had heard of it from a chicoon exploring around for a secluded place to nap. Mars shook his head, if another had found this place first, who is to say someone wouldn't find it again?

Wes sat and thought, until another idea came to mind! Maybe at the campsite, right under their very noses! Mars shook his head again. They would have to do it at night, if anything, and whose to say they wouldn't be spotted, or at least heard?

Wes hummed and honked for a bit, pacing around, noticing Mars was getting antsy staying in one spot. Wes decided walking might help them both. He started to set off and heard Mars following behind with the clinking of the seaglass just barely audible over their footfalls. They came upon the edge of the lake, where the sand was more coarse, and Mars immediately shook his head, the ground simple wasn't suitable for his plans.

That's when they made their way back to the beach, and Wes had the perfect idea....

An excited Obsidian ran down the beach, almost crashing into another Chicoon that was hunched over...something. After apologizing profusely, Obsidian glanced over Mars' shoulder to see what on earth he was looking at. His eyes widened once he figured out what they were. They were turtle eggs!
Mars was quick to explain that he had caught a dog trying to dig them up out of the sand. Mars had chased off the threat, but now he needed to figure out a good place to rebury the eggs where they would be better hidden. Obsidian was happy to help, and the two were soon hatching a plan of action.

Obsidian didn't know a whole lot about turtles. He knew that the eggs should be buried in sand, and he figured that they should be relatively close to the ocean, but other than that he really had no idea what to do. Still, he knew he had to help. It was also important that the eggs were hidden away from predators. Obsidian spun around in a slow circle, looking at the beach around him.
Was there a spot on this beach that met all of those requirements?

Obsidian walked along the beach for a very long time. There were several spots that were crowded with tourists, so Obsidian immediately wrote those places off. There was also a section that was more rock than sand, so Obsidian crossed that off the list as well. But the rest of the beach seemed pretty promising. Now Obsidian just needed to find the perfect spot.
Obsidian went over all of the requirements again in his head. As he was pondering, he spotted something in the distance. Could that be the perfect spot? Obsidian dashed over to check it out.
This spot was located about halfway between the ocean and the grass line at the rear of the beach. Obsidian pressed his hand into the sand. It definitely seemed like it was be easy enough for the baby turtles to dig their way out. There was even a curve of small rocks that protected the spot on one side. This was the best spot on the whole beach for the eggs that Mars had found.
Obsidian immediately got to digging a hole.

"Putting the recipe in a bottle, and throwing it out to sea might be a good idea... However, then you're unlikely to get it back. So maybe... you could bury it near the bin at the beach. Because who's going to hang around near a stinky bin, let alone dig around near it?"

Toothpaste sat around on the beach, watching for the spots that were less travelled. Burying treasure where it's less likely for someone to stumble upon it is obviously the best idea. After a while, they decide near a dune would suffice.

However, after testing the spot with a rock, Toothpaste discovered that their digging had disturbed the dune, which was now eroding and... revealing the buried "treasure". Hm, not a good spot, and probably not very good for the dune.

Toothpaste found it hard to hang around the bin area long enough to attempt to bury their test rock so... that wasn't as good as an idea as they had thought.

After a while, the chicoon decided to dig a hole under a prickly bush. Sacrifices must be made... for hiding such treasure!

"So, we can't go to a deserted island. Apparently the treasure actually has to be discoverable. Wait- is that a word... discoverable? That's a word right Mars? Oh well back to the point, since that's not an option I suggested we bury it in a graveyard. Mars for some reason doesn't like that idea. He says it's disrespectful or something like that- he then said that since it's the summer and that's the theme for this er hunt we should bury on the beach. However I hated being so... cliché, so we eventually came to a compromise. The treasure will be between the beach and the graveyard... so somewhere in the ominous forest that I'm pretty sure chicoons keep disappearing in. Should be a piece of cake, right?"
