Zhú's favorite food, paws down would have to be deep fried bamboo shoots served with brown rice.
For him there is nothing more satisfying then to bite into a fresh crisp flavor as these.
Bamboo shoots are already crunchy, but once they are covered with flour and deep fried in oil, it adds a whole new leave of crispness.
Most people pick on Zhú because he's a red panda saying it's only natural for him to like bamboo
But he doesn't really care what they think because he's happy with what he likes, and what he likes so happens to be the flavor of bamboo shoots.
His favorite memory with this crispy dish is when he and a few friends went to this small Chinese restaurant that had just opened recently, and they all decided to order something they never tried before. Now Zhú had originally ordered a bowl of squid ink spaghetti while one of his friends ordered the deep fried bamboo. But after ordering, they all quickly discovered that they didn't like the taste of their food. So it was decided that they would keep passing their dishes around until someone found something they liked, and it wasn't until the deep fried bamboo was passed over to Zhú that he discovered that he absolutely loved it.
Now, any time he and his friends go back to the restaurant he'll always go for his favorite dish and enjoy watching his friends frantically trying to find what they like on the menu.
Zhú had grown to love this dish so much that he decided to learn how to cook it himself, so that he didn't always have to go out to eat this refreshing crispy treat. And it was through this that he discovered that it tasted amazing with a serving of brown rice. Ever since then, he's made this dish himself and is always trying new ways to spice it up, but the original will always have a place in his heart.
