what do they do for a living and how does it affect their relationships with others?: (500 words or less)
Job: Works as a scientist and field investigator for the SCP Foundation. He practices Field Evaluation, Field Recovery, SCP development and review, and object research. As such, he is frequently away from most of kalon civilizations. He avoids socialization if it is not at least 50% beneficial or required. When interaction is made, he is very professional. He does not tend to make friends, with the only ones he does have being scientists like him, and even then their interactions are very formal and business-like.
People: Dr. Gears appears unable to respond in an emotional manner to any outside stimulus, with very few exceptions. Also, he appears to lack a startle reflex, and the basic form of “fight or flight” response. Due to this, some try to avoid interactions, thinking he is constantly being sarcastic. A small few people do tend to enjoy interactions with COG, saying that he takes many topics very seriously and will respond accordingly.

Melody is an actress and singer.
off the stage, she's quiet and shy. teachers loved her - she was sweet and kind, paid attention at all times, and excelled in all her classes, though her best subjects were science and math. she could have easily found a professional job relating to alchemy or chemistry, but her heart was in theater.
as a kit, her parents took her to see a musical. she was entranced by everything about the show - the actors, how the story came to life, the amazing songs. it struck her like a bolt of lightning that day - I want to be there, on the stage. I want to be acting and singing. I want to do this.
it was never clearer what she was to do when auditions for the middle school musical were open. she awed everyone. from the moment she stepped onto that stage, into the spotlight, and sang that first note, everyone knew she was "the one." the kalon who would brighten up all their shows and be the star.
news spread like wildfire, and soon, everyone in the school - and soon, the whole town - knew about this sweet young kalon who acted as if she were a part of the story and sang as if she had been gifted the voice of a songbird.

of course, there are always those who scorn the more talented than them. oftentimes, they're simply jealous of someone else getting more fame than them. they can find faults in the famed that they may have. there were kalons who criticized her, jealous of such a young actress instantly getting all the attention. "it's not real talent," they sneered. "the teachers pick and choose their favorites for no reason." Melody often knew of these nasty comments but didn't mind. sure, they were cruel, but who cared what others thought? she hadn't begged for being a legend. if they wanted to be jealous and bitter, she would let them be.
funny thing was, Melody never seeked attention. she would have been happy and content with a minor role - as long as she was a part of these wonderful performances. but her fame was never for her to decide.
Melody's secret? some say it must have been pure talent, or that she probably practices hours each day. no one knows for sure, but one thing is clear.
passion.
she loved theater so much, and it meant the world to her to be a part of a show. nobody expected shy little Melody to act with such feeling, to sing with such intensity, to participate in rehearsals with such devotion. what set her apart from others was that she put her heart into what she was doing. her acting and singing is fueled by fierce, burning passion, as was her desire to participate in theater.
after graduating from the best college in the country, she got straight into a career with theater. since, she's played many main or supporting roles in musicals.
however, the fame hasn't changed her - she's still quiet, kind, respectful Melody - and she still burns with passion.

Name is a nurse. She is kind and compassionate she always worries about others. Her profession is just in her nature. She's always checking up on her family and friends to make sure they're drinking enough taking their meds and aren't in any pain.

what do they do for a living and how does it affect their relationships with others?: Jack does a lot of things. (I guess you could call her... A 'Jack of all Trades!' I'm so sorry...) But, she runs a fortune shop, sure, it's full of "tacky" wares and objects, like a crystal ball, a dragon's skull, you name the thing and Jackie's got it! But back to her fortune shop, she does palm readings, and horoscopes. A ton of Kalons say her work is 'shady' and 'too expensive.' This gives her a bad reputation in the industry, but when she's doing her other hobbies, everyone loves her for her happy-go-lucky attitude!
