↳ why the conservatory?: Elfrida volunteers at a hybridized plant research facility consisting of an arboretum and a conservatory. As hardworking as she is, even Elfie needs to recharge once in a while. She finds that when she needs time to relax, the fern room in the conservatory is the ideal place. It's kept at a nice temperature thanks to the mist in the air, and sunlight filters through the glass panels into the room below. It has several fountains and a tiny waterfall that are peaceful to watch. She'll admit that she's even fallen asleep there once or twice! Nothing beats the smell of plants and earth after rain, the perpetual perfume of her favorite room.

favorite place to be at; the roller rink
why?; ever since she was little, jubilee has always been fascinated by skating; be it ice skating, skateboarding, or rollerskating, she loved them all. however, as she grew older, she grew more and more attached to rollerskating. her parents often took her there to watch the skaters race around the track, and when competitions were around, they would always somehow scrounge up the money to buy the tickets to take her. ever since then, jubilee has been dedicated to learning how to skate well enough to skate competitively, and even tried out for the local team once when she was younger. although rejected, the event only hardened her resolve to work harder and achieve her goal of joining a professional roller skating team.

➮ LIKES
• the sun
ㅤwhether it's soaking up sun at the beach or watching the sun fall below the horizon on a cold winter's day, jubilee loves the giant burning ball of gas lighting up the sky. stacks and stacks of papers and books all about the sun lay strewn about in her room, some untouched for years, others having been cracked open as recently as in the last week. a bit of a hoarder, jubilee cherishes her books and papers about the sun and all the memories that come with them.

• sweets
ㅤjubilee has the biggest sweet tooth of anyone she knows. there is no such thing as "too sweet" in her books; if it looks good? she'll eat it. she can never truly decide on a favorite sweet, so she usually just says all of them! although.. she is quite fond of anything orange-flavored, particularly orange meringue pie and orange creamsicles. but shhh, dont tell anyone!

• music
ㅤalthough a fan of current music, jubilee much prefer's 80's and 90's music over anything. she has a habit of going off when asked about her music tastes though, so she tends to keep it on the down low to save herself and everyone else the trouble of hearing her rave about how totally under appreciated and underrated songs like "Jessie's Girl" are.

• thunder
ㅤthunder might as well be one of jubilee's greatest enemies, for all she does to avoid it. on several occasions, she's packed up her "necessities" and holed up at a friend's house to avoid a storm. although having to deal with the storm at all is something she loathes greatly, at least she can get through it with a friend.

• moths
ㅤmoths are DEFINITELY one of jubilee's biggest rivals. for years, those pesky bugs had wrecked her clothes and left them with holes in the sleeves. after being mocked for it by her friends, jubilee swore she would never let another moth step ten feet near any of her clothes.

• spiders
ㅤever since she was little, jubilee has been deathly afraid of the eight-legged beasts. if she saw one in her room, she'd hide out in her parents' bedroom until someone got rid of the awful thing. usually, her parents obliged her and carried the poor critter outside, but sometimes she'd have to take care of it herself. this usually resulted in her waiting with a broom in the bathroom or a closet until someone came home to do it instead. despite her hatred for the critters, she could never, ever kill one.

➮ PERSONALITY
• curious. at her core, jubilee is the living definition of the phrase, "curiosity killed the cat but satisfaction brought it back." no matter how much her curiosity to learn about everything and anything brings her down, she bounces back up with ten times as much resolve as before. there is scarce a moment when she's down for the count and not eager to learn everything she can.

• hopeful. inspiring hope in her peers wherever she goes, jubilee is a literal "ray of sunshine" to those around her. whether it's during a time of great loss or in the face of an enemy far greater than herself, she somehow manages to stay positive and keep an optimistic outlook no matter what. nothing can get her down; not yet anyway.

• forgiving. there is little you can do that jubilee wont forgive you for. by nature, she's a firm believer that people can change, even those who've been deemed too far gone. this isnt to say she doesnt have a limit, because she most certainly does, but she is more understanding that people can be changed if given the opportunity and tools to do so. (and more importantly, they want to change.) however, it is wise not to betray her trust. just because she gives you one chance, doesnt mean she'll give you an infinite number of them. break her trust one too many times, and you're as good as dead to her.

• intuitive. however foolish, clumsy, and all around inconsiderate jubilee might come off as, she is more clever than she first appears. jubilee is perceptive to those around her, and often takes into account the emotions of her peers to plan her next actions accordingly. those who know her as the ditsy goofball who glows about as bright as the sun she loves so much are usually surprised to find out she's not as unknowing as she seems.

• excitable. it doesnt matter if it's someone else's surprise party or at the local highschool's football game, jubilee is almost always buzzing with extra energy. the energy she radiates, some might say, is almost tangible in a sense; it clings to her and those around her like a warm, fuzzy blanket and gives a sense of security and trust.

ㅤjubilee loves her father dearly, and probably has the best relationship with him of all her family members. he works monday through friday so she doesnt have much opportunity to see him, but on weekends she tries to clear her schedule as much as she can to make time for them to do things together, like see the latest movie or roller skate at the local rink.

• mother
ㅤjubilee's mother is one of the hardest working women she knows, and she wouldnt trade her for anything. she values her mother's opinions and experience greatly, and always listens to any wisdom her mother has to offer. they dont always get along, but when they do, they're an unstoppable force and you dont want to get in their way.

• aunt jermimah
ㅤone of jubilee's aunts, and completely estranged. they rarely talk, and when they do, their conversations are passive-aggressive or outright insulting.

ㅤone of jubilee's closest friends and a trusted confidant. nora is a sun bear, and a year younger than jubilee, but when they're around each other they act more like sisters. jubilee trusts nora completely, and doesnt want to imagine how her life might've been without her. jubilee is also usually the first one to help nora when she has trouble with her anxiety, which only strengthens their bond.
