How the quote relates to this kalon:
Nikolaj is a very witty and strategic kalon. He uses his
quick thinking and sharp tongue against his enemies.
Nikolaj comes of as.. intimidating. He always carries
around this aura of anger, but thats not really who he
is. He projects that image into other's minds, so he can
establish his dominance. Although he may just seem like
a brooding kalon, he is actually very intelligent. Instead
of most, he uses his smarts and intelligence to intimidate
his opposer, and will evaluate the situation before he starts
fighting. Although Nikolaj seems like a brute with a force
to be reckoned with, he is a totally different kind of person
around his friends and loved ones. He gets very protective,
and is always asking about their well being when he returns
from a battle. He is also a big flirt; flirting with basically
anything in sight. He is a Hopeless Romantic, and hopes to
one day find his other half. Nikolaj may not show it, as it rarely
gets in the way, but Nikolaj can be very clingy. He has lost so
much, so if he ever finds his one true love, he probably wouldn't
let them go.

Ever since he was small, Nikolaj has been fed with a silver spoon.
Well, that was until his father died in battle and his mother died
soon after due to a very serious illness. Nikolaj, now left on his own
to rule his kingdom, pulled the silver spoon from his mouth and
declared he was to bring his kingdom to greatness, a bold move for
a new king. Smothered in power and blind with his rage over his fathers
death, he charged into battle one day. The battle was a tragic one,
many deaths. Upon returning, Nikolaj had only forty soldiers left. He
entered the battle with one hundred and seven. He had his best friend
slung limpy in front of him while he rode horseback into the kingdom
gates, silent and brooding. Nikolaj knew he had made a grave mistake.

The young king soon went into a silent period, usually sitting on a stool
on the balcony him and his mother would come and sit out at.
Nikolaj sat for hours on end, wondering.. Pondering what he did wrong.
Until one day it struck him like a blunt sword to the head. He had no
plan, he was reckless, he needed control, he needed restraint.
Now, his best friend and both parents decease, a new view on life in place,
Nikolaj came out of his silent period, and became more of a noble and
well respected king. He learned restraint, and became a force to reckon
with.

Basil has no conscience. If he did, he wouldn't pay attention to it. When he was a child, Prince Basil always strived to keep a clean conscience, because he believed that following the morals he'd been taught would translate into him being a good person. He pitied the sick, the needy, and the poor. He was always polite and generous, even to those he didn't believe deserved such kindness. Increasingly, though, Basil became tired of this routine. He came to the frustrating realization that people were beginning to take advantage of his saintly heart. They seemed no longer willing to work for money, intentionally wearing tattered garb as a silent cry for help in order to receive gifts from the wealthy prince. This, at least, was Basil's perception. As a result, Prince Basil grew bitter and selfish. He chose to do nothing in the best interest of his people, unless "his people" were close companions whom worked hard to serve under his authority. He held a disregard for the consequences his actions caused, consciously oblivious to the strife and pain he produced. And he loved it! What chaos, what beauty, in the lack of a conscience! Without a conscience, one is free to go with his own gut, or disregard his gut entirely! Basil developed a belief in the powers of fear and strength over the powers of understanding and improvement. Of course, our dear Basil could never be labeled as a villain; Basil's own best interest is quite sane, actually. He's just not so open to the idea that his way may not be best, and especially that his way will result in an inevitable end. He is both hated and feared equally, but greatly confident in his own hardiness and uncompromising ways.

Tuskan is a female kalon, and rather fluffy - therefore almost always being mistaken for the kindest, most loving soul. By all of her friends. But if you get her angry, prepare to be astonished. Toby, while externally powerful and confident, bears internal doubts of himself and of things around him. When faced with a challenge or an activity that would endure adrenaline, Toby's mind begins to unleash the millions of doubts that it keeps locked away and he grows extremely timid. His doubts often turn him away from the opertunities that stand before him. Toby does recognize what his doubts are doing, though he does little to combat it. He has become so absorbed in his doubts that to him life without them would be worse than life with them.
