ooh boy wip
-art major, works at a fairly expensive makeup store bc she really needs money
-has absolutely zero training and zero idea what she's talking about
-can do a mean cat eye but that's just about it
-usually works the register and helps restock but a nasty strain of the flu took half the employees out so she's doing sales today
-can usually bluff her way into sounding knowledgeable but NOT TODAY
-the first few kalons that come in are fine; one knows what she wants and doesn't really need help and one just needs to be pointed to the correct aisle
-then she gets a new customer with even less makeup knowledge than her, somehow, and a large desire to spend money
-also, allergies

mostly inactive. yes, i still love my adopts.

"Is this for sale?" An elderly Kalon held up a bright blue sweater.
"No. The sale ended three days ago." Sarah mumbled as she continued stocking items. This had been going on for at least twenty minutes with nearly every sweater they had.
"Is this one on sale?" The Kalon held up the exact same sweater except in a larger size. "No, that one isn't either." Sarah mumbled again. "How about this one?" The kalon held up the same sweater but in red.
"No. None of the sweaters are on sale today!" Sarah practically screamed. Everyone shopping around her stopped and looked at her. After a minute of awkwardness, Sarah put her paw on the old Kalon's shoulder. "Nothing in our store has been discounted since that sale, do you have any coupons though?" Sarah gently explained as she looked in the corner of her eye to see the manager watching her. "Do you have any coupons?" The Kalon questioned Sarah. "Thats... Thats not how it works." Sarah tried to explain but the Kalon didn't seem to understand. "You guys give out coupons right?" She asked.
"Not exactly. We workers don't. You guys get sent them by-" "Looks like your having trouble Sarah." Sarah's manager said in an unreasonably loud voice. Many of the customers looked at the three. She turned to the other Kalon. "Now what was it that you wanted? Oh yeah!" The manager hussled over to a rack and handed the elderly Kalon the sweater she originally wanted. "I can give you 20% off!"

Worst retail expierence: Summer works at at a small clothing store in New York City. One day someone came in and tried on ten different outfits and left five of them in the changing room, which to her was really annoying because then she would have to try and find where they go in the shop before someone else used the stall.
So then they came up to the counter and put the clothes on the counter. Two of the outfits fell and they took almost five whole minutes to pick TWO OUTFITS UP! So at this point Summer was very annoyed, but she continued checking them out anyways. So she checked them out and now it was time for them to pay. So the person got their purse out and and started getting pennies out to pay with. It took them about fifteen minutes to count out out how much she needed. So then she was like
"Whoops" and then I got a little scared, and about thirty seconds later they said
"I'm three pennies off". So at this point Summer just said that she can just pay with the pennies she had and that the three pennies off didn't matter. But they then responded saying "No thanks I'm just going to leave. Bye!"
Summer got really mad at this because she spent about an hour just with the and there was a line so long it was out of the store! Also, to add to the fun, her shift was over and the other worker hadn't arrived yet so Summer was stuck with a huge line of about fourteen customers and was all alone to deal with them.

'So this happened a while back when I was 16. I was working at a small retail store in my towns mall. It was coming up to the end half of the day, and I dont know how I noticed it, but an older man, probably in his 50's, im not sure, had walked past my store about 3 or 4 times.
Not consecutively, just every now and then. I worked at one of those, little custom jewelry stores, so its odd for an older male to be walking past so many times. But I didn't think anything of it..
It came closing time, and I had left to catch my bus home at about 6:30 pm. I remember it was transitioning into winter, because it was dark out by then.
I'm a very paranoid person, and I still live by the rules of stranger danger. So even know, when I leave work, I make sure that I change into an outfit thats less.. fashionable. I don't like drawing attention to myself in any way possible, so I try to make sure I'm as covered up and as average looking as I can be.
I dont know why, but I have that disease where I attract all the wrong attention for no reason at all.
So as I said, I was waiting for the bus home, sitting by myself at the town centers bus terminal. And guess who walks past. The older man.
At this point I kind of felt uneasy, but in my head I tried to make reason prevail, as many people take the buses all the damn time. My bus showed up and I got on, and well, you can guess who got on after me.
I remember sitting at one of the seats, facing inward; the ones for wheelchairs and prams. And he sat at the first seat above the steps.
I remember staring forward, feeling his eyes burning into me. I kept trying to use my peripheral vision to see if he was looking at me, but not wanting him to know I noticed him.
The whole bus ride I waited to see if he got off before my stop, thinking it was just my over anxious paranoid mind working over time, until I pressed the button for my stop.
I waited until the last possible second to press it, and as I stood up, he did too. I went to walk to the front door of the bus, and he exited the rear. At that moment, as soon as he stepped off, I sat back down. I had no idea where the bus went after my stop, but I honestly didn't care. I will never forget the look on his face as the bus drove off, I've never seen such hatred and anger on a person face then I did through that window.
His expression is burnt into my memory, like a photograph. It still absolutely terrifies me to this day, I have no idea what would of happened to me if I had gotten off my bus stop that night. But i'm glad my paranoia was so intense that I didn't.'

It was 10 at night.
After an exhausting work day, relaxation and a good night's rest seemed to be in close view. I couldn't express my relief at this; retail is fun, but the people are horrid sometimes, and the work isn't exactly peachy. But it pays, and with everything going on at home, I could use the extra money.
The store happened to be closing in fifteen minutes, and I couldn't be happier at this. There was no one, and I mean no one, in the store except for the tired employees preparing for the next day, until I heard the bell ring. The bell, which we all hate to hear at this time of night, sounds when someone- usually a customer- enters the store. I, along with the rest of my co-workers, turned to see who in their right mind would be entering a retail store at this time of night. In the doorway stood a mother and her young- and I mean young- child. The mother looked done with everything; she emitted an angry personality, and scowled at all of us before entering to look at the clothes on display. Her child, probably in the 7-9 age range, eyes drooped, and allowed themselves to be dragged forcefully by the mother.
One look at my co-workers and I knew they were thinking the same thing; that this woman was crazy, and her poor child should be in bed, not being dragged around in a cheap retail shop.
"Good evening ma'am! How can I assist you?" Even though I detested the woman for what she was doing to her child, it was my job to help.
The woman turned and looked at me like I'd grown horns. She skimmed me up and down before asking with the most obnoxious voice, "Where is the dressing rooms?"
I found this quite peculiar- she hadn't chosen any items yet.
"We actually don't have any- I apologize for the inconvenience."
I hoped, due to this problematic situation, she'd just leave, but instead, she narrowed her eyes into a death stare.
"If there's no dressing rooms, how am I supposed to try on my clothes?"
"I can help you, if you want. Just tell me what size you wear, and I'll find shirts that fit you."
"What?! Are you calling me fat? In front of my child?"
Her child, now having given up and asleep on the floor, snored softly.
"No ma'am, I was just trying to-"
"Whatever," the female Kalon cleared her throat. "If there's no dressing rooms, I'll just have to get changed here." she snipped defiantly. She then began to paw through several shirts, before finding one she liked.
"I can't allow you to-"
"Shut up."
At this point, I was done. I turned, my patience gone, and walked back behind the counter. I watched her up to the point she took off her shirt before turning away, seeing my co-workers do the same.
Eventually, I turned around, figuring she was done. The red shirt she'd picked out was crumpled on the floor; she was pulling her regular one back on.
"Your clothing items are horrible." She growled, before picking up her still snoring kid and walking out of the store.

not on here much anymore but to reminisce,
if we've ever interacted in the slightest, thank you for kind memories,
i loved this place.

Ariadne pauses. "So... a burger then?"
"No, I said a cheeseburger. I just don't want any cheese."
"But... a cheeseburger with no cheese is just a burger... If you don't want cheese, why not just order a regular burger? Save you a little bit of money..." Ariadne looks at the customer, quite confused. The customers next in line gave her sympathetic looks.
"Just give me what I ordered! Don't make me talk to your manager!" the current customer huffed angrily.
Aridne sighs, and puts the order in, just as the customer asked. Fine, spend the extra 90 cents, see if I care.

Well, the worst I've had was just a normal day. It went fine, but about 10-11 o clock in the day, close to the beginning of the afternoon. right away, I could tell it was gonna be weird. I work in a thrift store two days a week, and I was at the front counter right next to the register. A customer came up to the counter but man, she was all fidgety and couldn't stand still. She couldn't talk straight and was shaking slightly plus she was fumbling with her stuff. She was even in clothes she was buying, which made it even weirder. I was very uncomfortable. I turned to my job coach and she looked at me with a grin and look on her face that said she was thinking the same thing. I turned to the lady who buying her items and I swear, hearing her voice made it worse for me. It was bad. She was speaking fast and stuttering a bit.
"Id like to buy these and I'm buying this, this and these as well."she told me, pointing out the outfit she said she was buying that she had on.
I mean we did have dressing rooms but I swear..she was freaky. She was really skinny, like starving skinny kind of way. It was bad, and I just had my job coach handle it as I went did something else, and wanted to get away from the lady. To me she was one of those homeless tweakers, that came in only to get fresh clothes for the day or next day or whatever. We used to have a bin for the homeless, of free blankets and sweatshirts, but not anymore as they came in multiple times a day to grab from that. It was really bad. Now let me tell you this....or thrift store is located in a spot where it's homeless city, at a raba public bus stop. Quite a few of them will come in and buy an outfit then leave. Some even try and steal which makes it worse. I always hated dealing the homeless as they stunk and loomed filthy, like they hadn't taken a bath in months.
