Usagi was practicing late one night. It was dark before she knew it. Her friends had long since left and she had been asked to lock up when she was done. It was close on midnight now and there would no longer be any buses running past her home. So, she decided
it would be a better idea to take a shortcut through the forest, rather than take her chances on the road.
Once she had finished locking up, Usagi picked up her bag and slung her pointe shoes over her shoulder by their ribbons and began her long trek home.
As she got deeper into the forest, she heard a strange sound and began running, so frightened of the woods, all of a sudden. She closed her eyes after a while and just kept running, until she slipped and hit her head on a root, knocking herself out.

She awoke in a strange place. It resembled a home,, but everything was still fairly blurry...
She stood up, in hopes that everything would come into focus. That's when he walked in. A strange plume that Usagi had never seen before. She could feel her body tense as he drew nearer. There was fear burning right through her. she motioned backwards, until she was up against a wall. The masked stranger came right up to her, almost relentlessly. This was it. This was the end...

"How are you feeling?", Inori said, removing his mask and inspecting the concussed plume that he had found in the woods. He leaned in closer and looked into her eyes, and whispered, "It's cold out there..."

Inori and Usagi have been friends ever since that day.

More about Usagi
Usagi can see the past,
but not the future. The night
before, she had had a nightmare
about Inori's past and this had
disturbed her so much that she
just could not focus at dancing,
which is why she decided to stay
late to clear her head.

Usagi is a mute, not truly
being able to describe what she
feels, she uses dancing to
'speak'. she makes use of a series
of huffs, grunts and movements
to get her point across, for
almost everything else.
Most of her friends
think that her eyes say more
than she does, which is why
she keeps them covered
with her fringe.

How Usagi got her name;;
It was late at night,
on the first day of winter
when Usagi was born into the world.
Most newborns cry when they
are born into this world, but not Usagi.
She simply smiled, as though she
was extremely excited
about being born into this
world.
After seeing his daughter
for the first time,
Usagi looked out to the moon
for a moment and saw
a rabbit lurking in the shadows.
Seeing this as a sign of good things
to come, he named her "rabbit".
