Dearest Violin,
It took me much courage to write this to you..... But I must confess something before you leave for the new area to be with your family. This is my only chance and I don't want to waste it.
The two of us started out as simple friends. I bumped into you as you were chasing a rabbit for your aunt. I remember saying sorry repeatedly and crouching down, afraid I have angered you by making you lose your meal. After my ninth sorry, you took your paw to my face and I looked at you. I blushed as red as a cherry. My yellow eyes met your violet eyes. I wasn't scared anymore, but I also didn't know what I was feeling then. "It's okay. I can catch another one. I'm Violin. And you?" You were so gentle and caring with your words. My heart was having a tantrum at that moment. I answered shyly. "My name's Early."
Then the two of us met together accidentally. Or maybe it was no accident, the times we met. I said hello and you said hi. We became closer. We hunted together, played together, laughed together.... I loved it. The both of us were willing to adventure out of the area but the rules were still followed. We made our own fun. Our own smiles.
Then as we grew older you showed me a flower field. It was full of daisies, dandelions, orchids and a whole lot more. But you saw what caught my eyes. On a small patch there were bright orange-pink roses. They were beautiful. I was in a daze looking at them and wanting one. Just one. But you knew how to impress me. So you walked to the roses picked two paw fulls and started doing something. I sneaked over when you were finished (which took you about a minute) and saw a flower crown.
It was amazing. "Here, for you!" You showed me the flower crown and placed it on my head. "It looks good on you!" I blushed and tackled you. We played for hours until the sunset. At night you showed me how to make the crown and we slept hanging upside down on a high branch.
Those moments.... Those simple moments when we had fun and laughed were the best. We were always there for eachother. Even during sad times. When our hearts were too broken that it seemed crumbled we picked up every cracked piece. When our eyes are tired from crying we dry them and smile. In our happiness and sadness, even if we didn't know what to do, we stayed together.
Now I need to write what you need to know. Once you found out that you had to leave you stared at me and cried. I asked what you read and you answered with a voice full of fear. "I...... I have to go to a new area. My family has a problem and I need to be with them...." I stayed close by. "Why are you crying then?" I asked while hiding my own pain. "Because I don't want to leave my friend." And that was it. It's been three days since you found out. I know you'll leave and that I'll miss you so much. But I don't want to be your friend.
I love you, Violin. Not friend love, not sibling love. I'm in love with you. I'm not sure if this is a crush or real love. I just want to love you. And you already had my heart from long before this was sure. I hope you feel the same. Goodbye, Violin. I'll meet you when you leave tomorrow. I hope you get this letter. Goodbye again.
