Why:Year after year, the magnetic City of Light draws travelers looking to cross the Eiffel Tower and Notre Dame off their bucket lists. Especially paras. But what visitors really fall in love with are Paris' quaint cafes, vibrant markets, trendy shopping districts and unmistakable je ne sais quoi charm.

Why: Hazel travels to Tasmania mostly because she has a life long best friend that lives there. Although, this friend isn't a parra. Hazel travels twice a year saving up money to travel around the world, meeting new people, and viewing the beautiful places around the world. This is how she met her friend. ^^

Why: She always had a fascination with marine animals. She always liked to interact with the specimens like they were her own. It started when she was only a baby. Edith would go into the water and play games with the animals for entertainment especially when she was bored.

Why: Edith had the interest in traveling deep underground because she loved that eerie feeling that someone or something is watching over you. To others it is more of an insane act then a hobby but she always loved it no matter what they said. She never brought friends because she knew they would always chicken out and leave after the first 5 minutes leaving her alone in the darkness.

Why: Edith loved exotic things. She counted as weird and strange in many different ways but thats what made her a cool friend. She always loved Japan and it's ways of life because whenever she went there, it felt like she actually belonged somewhere. This is where would no one would critic and judge her, but admire her. She lived here for a couple of months before her parents passed away. She moved back to her home in Europe so she could say goodbye. But what interested Edith the most about Japan is that they dressed like she would if she were them. It made her comfortable since she knew where she would fit in.

Why she loves to travel:
When Amaretto was a pup, her parents traveled around
the country delivering products and parts to factories and other businesses.
She learned her alphabet and numbers through road signs and even started
a collection of souvenirs, her favorite being a teddy bear that one of the
people they frequently delivered to gave her. Her parents started a spark
in their daughter's heart and it would soon grow into a blazing fire of wanderlust.
Even though she doesn't have the money for those expensive over-seas travels,
she loves the little towns and crazy sights of America. These are a few of her
favorite places she has traveled to.

"Mayberry" in Mount Airy, North Carolina

Why:
Amaretto loved the atmosphere of Mayberry.
Sure there were tourist and modern things, but she could feel the
small-town, everybody knows everybody spirit in the air. She loved getting
to eat "Opie's Lunchbox" at a local diner and seeing Andy Griffith's home.
There was even a Wally's Service Station where she rode in an old squad car
and bought some candy from the little shop inside the station. Despite all
of the Andy Griffith Show places, there were a lot of historical museums
and attractions. A few miles away from Mount Airy is where the first
Siamese Twins are buried and she really enjoyed going to their exhibit.
The night before she left, she went to a music jam at the Earle Theatre
and had a blast dancing to old bluegrass music.

Gatlinburg, Tennessee

Why:
This is probably her favorite place to visit.
Amaretto goes to Gatlinburg every year and it never gets old,
though after the third time, the Ripley museums and other attractions
kinda of got boring to her. Yet, she adores the mood of the town.
Amaretto stays in Pigeon Forge, just outside of Gatlinburg, and walks
to the trolley station. For a quarter, the trolley goes right into Gatlinburg.
From there, she likes to walk downtown, occasionally stopping in shops
or to get something to eat, and just enjoy the cool mountain air. One
time she went up the ski lift to the top of the small mountain
towering over the city, but she didn't enjoy it much. She was not a
fan of the height. But the view was nice when she got up there. There
is just so much to see in downtown Gatlinburg that it makes her giddy
and it makes her feel like a young girl again, going on travels with her parents.

Nassau, Bahamas

Why:
The only out of country place she has been to, and it
is a memory that she will treasure for years. Amaretto had spent all
summer and winter helping out her parents and finally saved up for a
cheap cruise. It was early March and quiet chilly, but as soon as she
got further south, the sun was out and it was very hot. While in Nassau,
she ate at a small cafe and tried the local favorite, a Conch Burger.
Then she headed off to a ferry tour of Paradise Island. There were so
many cool celebrity houses, though Amaretto was too busy laughing at
the jokes the ferry tour guide was telling to pay much attention. Her
favorite was just before they docked, he came around for tips and said,
"Remember, folks, the best nation is donation." She gave him ten bucks
just for that. After a quick detour to buy a necklace for her mother, Amaretto
was off again to Blue Lagoon Island. Here, she went in the water with a
dolphin encounter (even getting a couple kisses from him!) and relaxed on
the beach, listening to the dolphins whistle and squeak. Despite getting
sunburned and being seasick on the way home, it was her favorite vacation ever.

Why I chose these places:
all of the places I wrote about I have been to with my family.
I felt like the best places to write about Amaretto visiting were places I had
been to, so I could really know the atmosphere and mood of the place.

Why I want this Parrapup:
Well, I guess it's because she reminds me of myself,
or rather, I can make her remind me of myself haha. My parents and I
have always traveled around, ever since I was a baby. Like Amaretto,
I learned my ABC's and 123's with road signs. I love it when we go on trips,
even if it's just a day trip or a quick trip to the beach. I'm just a travel bug.

Personality:
Despite often going on trips alone, Amaretto is quiet shy
and is very self-conscious. She puts on a brave face and ignores the
feeling that everyone is watching and judging her. Sometime it isn't
too hard for her to ignore everyone around her, as she is so
excited and entranced by the place she is visiting.
Amaretto is a very chatty girl, you can barely get her
to stop talking, especially if you get her going about the places she's visited
and places she wants to visit. She gets very loud and speaks very fast when she
gets excited. When she's nervous, she'll still talk your head off, but normally
about some random, stupid thing that you didn't even want to know.
Amaretto does get very irritated when a trip doesn't work out the way she
wanted it to. This is one reason she doesn't want a travel buddy, because she
has a plan and it must be followed or she will get frustrated, then depressed
because she just wanted to do a thing and it didn't work out. She also does not
like it when she's with someone who wants to take a ton of photos, like a tourist.
Amaretto likes to enjoy the trip and she feels stupid when she is forced to pose in
front of some statue and take a picture.

One of her first journeys as a traveler, as well as one of the strangest, was Lyra's visit to the largest desert in the world- Antarctica.

Why:
Young Lyra, full of curiosity and wonder for the beautiful world surrounding her, had recently become a world traveler and wanted her first few journeys to become to motivation for the rest- the idea that more memories just waiting to be made out there somewhere is great for giving that extra little push on whether or not to visit a slightly more dangerous- yet exotic- place.

Traveling all alone due to not having any co-workers who would even dare to accept her challenge of traveling to Antarctica with her on foot, Lyra slowly made her way towards the polar desert. She slept wherever she could and for as little time as possible; the more time spent traveling, after all, the quicker she knew she'd arrive. Rarely, Lyra would come across a hut hidden in the foliage of the surrounding trees or long grass, and whenever who was inhabiting said hut was welcoming and amiable, the parrapup knew she would get a good night's rest. When she found no huts, no friendly faces, not even a single sign of nearby civilisation, Lyra was forced to sleep- or at least, try to sleep- in the trees.

Why;
Wander wanted to get back to her roots and visit the place her family was from. She was also going to see the beautiful scenery. Dalarna is in central Sweden and has its western edge bordering Norway in the Swedish mountains. It is quite the site to see.

Why;
She has an affinity for animals so when she was able to go to Australia, Wander jumped at the offer. She went to see all kinds of wildlife. Her favorite included: wallabies, kangaroos, and brumbies.

Why;
It is full of interesting creatures, lush forests, and huge dormant volcanoes at it's center. The weather is warm and welcoming and the beach is a great place to spend the day. The ocean offers many creatures to look at with many different varieties and colors.

Wanderlust really lives up to her name. She can't stand being in one place for very long and always has the urge to travel and explore the world. She captures all of her adventures on camera to share with her family and friends. She is very kind and understanding and doesn't mind getting down and dirty. She can sometimes be a little sarcastic but it's all in good fun. She loves to laugh with her friends and take them on road trips with her. However, she sometimes likes to take trips by herself to really focus on her needs and to help her relax. She is not a big fan of very large crowds or loud places and prefers quieter settings.
