I groaned and slowly cracked open my eyes, a throbbing pain in my skull, body aching all over. Raising my head a little, I glanced around cautiously. I was lying in the middle of a grey, bleak forest. There was no one in sight.
Wincing, I stood up and stretched a little, joints protesting after lying for who knows how long on the hard, cold ground. I closed my eyes as my head spun a little, swaying on my paws. How much had I had to drink last night?!

CHEVY! the echo of frantic voices suddenly flashed across my mind, and my eyes flew open as memories came flooding back.

My two adopted brothers and I, as well as Castiel, were going after Dick Roman, owner of a gazillion random businesses as well as the leader of the Leviathans, monsters with big chompers they used to eat people, oozy black goo instead of blood, and a weakness to, of all things, laundry soap.

Except the plan had gone awry and I ended up stabbing Dick with the bone alone as he pummeled me with fists, trying to knock me away. There was a flash of light, and the last thing I remember is the sound of Sam and Dean shouting my name.

A sudden noise snapped my back to my senses and I spun around, teeth bared. I was gonna find out where I was, and no one was gonna stop me.

Before my hackles could rise, a group of what looked like vamps burst out of the trees, hissing and snarling as they bounded towards me. My eyes widened briefly, then narrowed in determination. I dodged the first and took down another with that surprise, but there were still three left. I smiled grimly as the first came at me.

A few frenzied minutes later, I had the last one pinned under my paws.

"Where am I?" I snarled, digging my claws into his shoulders.

"Purgatory," the vamp sneered maliciously through jagged teeth. "The place all us monsters go when we die."

I kept my face emotionless, though an internal chorus of cursing was running through my head.
"And how do I get out?" I asked fiercely.

He smiled.

A few minutes later, he wasn't still smiling.

"How. Do. I. Get. Out?" I repeated through gritted teeth.

"A portal," he gasped. "Through he trees to the right there's a river, follow it downstream and you'll find a waterfall. It's at the top..."

I smiled in triumph.

I'm coming, boys.

The days faded into a blur of endless padding over brittle leaves and sharp debris to the soundtrack of the river's rushing and explosive, brief, frequent fights. My fur was matted and bloody, countless cuts covering my body. But I kept going. For my boys.

When their father, John, knew he was going to die by trading his life for his son's, he cast a spell that transformed me into a plumerian like them, and gave me the task of protecting them for the rest of their lives. Sam and Dean were shocked at first, to say the least. But over time I've become almost like an older sister to them, a protector and caretaker. We fight together, and I'd do anything for them.

Dean decided he couldn't keep calling me 'Baby', so he and Sam helped me choose a name for myself.
It ended up being Chevron, which can be a symbol used in heraldry, used to indicate military rank, or sometimes to indicate sharp bends in a road. It's also a gas company and a natural nickname for it is Chevy.

After I lost count of the days, I finally heard the roar of the falls, and somehow found the strength to quicken my pace.
Of course, a group of leviathans were suddenly on my tail. I drive my exhausted limbs faster as I scrambled to the top of the falls, where I could see a bluish portal opening on top of a large rock. I swear I could feel the hot, rotting breath on my tail before I jumped through.

I tumbled to the ground in a forest, but this one was green and lush and smelled like life and I could hears birds and insects. I sprang upright, breathing in the clean, fresh air and grinned wildly. I was almost there.

Making my way out of the woods without being attacked by anything was possibly the best feeling in the world. Seeing a road was even better. Finding that first town and guzzling down water from the first water fountain I saw was great as well. Other plumies stared at me, but I didn't care. I managed to get some change from some people I asked and used it to call Dean's cell on a pay phone.

"Hello?" He asked, in that familiar, comforting rumble.

"Hey, Dean," I said, smiling.

"Wait," he said cautiously. "Is this-"

"Yours truly, Chevy Winchester," I said grandly.

"Chevy! We thought you were dead!" He said, and I could hear the happiness in his voice, then a brief scuffle and Sam's voice in the background saying something about 'put it on speaker dean'. He must have succeeded, because I heard him and Dean next, exclaiming over each other and asking questions.

"Boys!" I said loudly. They quieted. "Where are you guys?" I asked. They gave me the location. It wasn't far.

"I'll be there in three days," I said cheerfully. "Stay put and don't die, ok? Bya, boys!"

I hung up and smiled again before setting out on the road again, ready to go to where I belonged- with my family.

Story:

(999/1000 words)

I looked out of the bus window, I could make out my furry features from the glass of the bus, beyond it was gloomy.
I didn't know how it came to this, something happened, I couldn't stay away from it and now I am here on this bus trip, riding my way to hell.
Nothing literal, I’d be sent back if I was.
The grey clouds within the sky cried it's tears, matching my mood, the thought of It made me sad, but no one else was coming.
Just me.
The bus slowed to a stop, people got onto the vehicle and I now felt like I was stuck in a pack of sardines, I gave my seat to someone much older then me - she looked at me, her faded eyes twinkling with gratefulness and her old lips shown a smile,
I gave one back.
I hoped I was on time, my car is smashed up - I said that I would come, before she took off on her own.
I only noticed now that there were less people on the bus, I took an empty seat, only just seeing the mall
Sigh.
I've decided too change my ways, for her, hopefully she will be happy – with what I have started, at least.
The trip was long, I slowly got off of the bus and into the damp weather. No words were spoken between the driver and I, he drove off, a loud hiss coming from his bus.
I'm here.
I looked at the building from where I was in the car park - I hated this place, it smelt too much of hand sanitiser and all the creatures that hung around here freaked me out.
I didn't want too meat one
I trudged through the car-park, watching for any cars so I could wait for them to go, being a polite guy for once.
I kept up the pace and soon hit concrete, letting a young boy and his carer go through the magic double doors first, then headed inside.
I am glad to get out of the rain, it was starting too bug me – I sat in one of the chairs, and waited for this large guy to move.
“Oh come on Vanessa, lets go,”
“I told you Larry, no and you know the reason why!”
She raised her angry voice, I noted that if things turned ugly, I would confront this guy – it was likely no one else would.
“I have no honest idea on what you are talking about,” Larry replied, irritated, he roughly snatched her hand from over the desk, “Now come on!”
“Excuse me, this is a hospital,” I butted in, looking at Larry, not moving, the man let go of the girls hand and turning too where I was – looming over me,
“What are you gonna do about it?” Larry asked, this was pathetic a fly was better at this.
“You have no right to do that, so I am going kick you out,”
Larry brought his fist down, I only just rolled forward out of the chair, missing the hit, and into the desk – back first.
There was no way I was going too fight in a hospital!
Before I could move from my spot Larry had pinned me down, taking a few hits at my head, going left then right, then repeating.
I flailed, trying too get him off of me, but he was too strong – I should have thought this more thoroughly.
Larry was pulled off, I think, but I wasn't focused enough to register what had happened, I was helped up from the floor, and into a room.
After a few mumbled words coming from the person that helped, there was the touch of something warm upon the side of my sore head.
“H-Hey!” I gritted my teeth, the stinging intensified, I moved away, blinking in surprise as my head was roughly put into place,
“I'm almost done,”
?
I began to struggle – I don't know who she is, or if she is even human, oh just leave me alone karma.
“Quit squirming! I am trying patch you up,”
My vision began clearing at this point, a blonde haired woman dressed in blue was fixing my wound – she looked concentrated.
I growled,
“Listen- Ow!”
“Quit it!” She hissed, wrapping some bandage around my head
Snip! The lady had grabbed the scissors over from the silver tray and cut off the excess bandaged, placing the roll and scissors away.
“Don't do it again”
I stared at her as walked out – I followed her in a scrambled mess, wincing when the dull throbbing returned,
“What about that guy?”
“Oh, don't worry – I'm going too need a name from you, incident report,” She replied, taking the slip of paper and a pen from a guy, she quietly thanked him,
“...Knight Rider,” I replied hesitantly, perking an eyebrow, I watched her as she wrote my name down,
“Alright, Age?” she looked at me, I lost my expression and went with casual, glancing around,
“20,”
She mumbled, scribbled it down, then tapped her pen on the desk, “I can fill the rest out...You're one of the Amethysts brothers, right?”
Great.
“How did you-?”
“She talks about you,” she smiled softly, “You're probably here too see her, right?” she wrote down more information about the incident.
I nodded in response, She doesn't seem like a bad person, she knows my sister,
“Mind giving me the room number?” I asked.
“204,”
“Alright, Seeyah,” I began swiftly walking down the corridor, dodging the nurses and doctors that passed,
“Wait!”
I stopped before heading around the corner, looking back at the lady, who was smiling with gratefulness,
“Thanks,”
I grinned back, nodding once then disappearing around the corner, hoping she was there.

We crashed.

I soon felt a sharp pain in my right front leg,I noticed a long cut down the middle of it.They rushed us to emergency."It's ok sir."A doctor said as they put me back to sleep.I had a stitch done in my cut and at my side.

"You can go in a week or so."The doctor said.I waited that long.

Finally,a week has arrived.I only had a week left of vacation.I upped my happiness by having a sweet ice cream cone.

i did it right.

Story: [he and his family]
My father bought a new car one day. We were all very excited. He promised to take us to Melaka to visit my grandparents the coming Sunday.
Sunday morning was bright and breezy. We hopped into the brand new car and soon we were heading out of Petaling Jaya towards the expressway. My mother sat in the front passenger seat while my father drove. I sat behind with my younger sister.

As it was Sunday the roads were not very busy. Soon we were on the expressway travelling at a leisurely pace. My father is a careful driver and he does not drive too fast or dangerously. This proved to be good for there was a speed-trap manned by the police along the expressway. I saw some cars stopped by the police. They had obviously been speeding.

Driving along the expressway tend to be monotonous. I actually fell asleep once we passed Seremban.

When I awoke, we were already at the Ayer Keroh toll gate. My father paid the toll and steered the car towards Melaka Town. On the way we passed many interesting sights. My father promised to stop by on our way home. We had to visit our grandparents first.

We left Ayer Keroh and all its factories behind as we journeyed into the town itself. Like all towns, there were many cars and other vehicles. Also there were many tourists. Melaka has many places of historical interest and thus this was not surprising.

Finally we arrived at my grandparents' house in Klebang Besar. The journey had taken about two hours. We stepped out of the car. My grandparents greeted us happily.

Story:
The snow was piled up high as father turned the truck on. He shoveled the driveway for the last time. "This divorce has done crazy things to me. I want go somewhere where I can be free of that crazy." he had told Nebraska. And now he was- they were taking the long trip to Alaska, father and daughter. Nebraska was excited at the idea of snow and sled dogs, and so was her father. Mother had already packed her things and left, but had promised to keep in touch with her daughter. "So why did you divorce?" Nebraska asked as she put on her tuke. "To much arguing and fighting. We would always try to hide it from you, so most of the fights went on when you were asleep. But I needed no more suffering, and neither did your mother. It was our choice, and we can't turn back now." father said as he finished shoveling. "Come on kiddo. The wilderness calls."

Nebraska had fallen asleep for two hours or more but woke up when they reached the town of Whitehorse. "Already in British Columbia. Took a little longer than I'd like, though." father sighed. "Your mother would have made it take even longer, she always liked shopping in Vancouver." Nebraska looked out the window to see the Canadian flag. She would no longer be able to see that flag when they got to Alaska.

Name: Anangelo (Anan-- pronounced Anon)
Gender: male
Story: (word limit: 1000 words)

--running away from home--may edit later, mostly done--roughly 930 words--

Anangelo dived back into the underbrush as a lone car zoomed past on the desolate highway. He wrapped his thick, jet black leather coat more tightly around him as he trudged through the scraggly bushes that lined the road. A fly buzzed demandingly in his ear, causing him to slap at it in fury. He had left the only home he had ever known behind three hours ago, and he was already running out of water. Annoyingly enough, he’d also forgotten to pack food. Luck briefly smiled upon him as he finally stumbled upon a small patch of blackberries. Anan ate so much that his stomach felt as if it would burst. He painstakingly placed several handfuls of berries in the torn, charcoal-gray backpack that he had brought with him. With a tired, ragged sigh, he stood up and began mindlessly trotting down the road again, with no particular destination in mind. More and more often he wondered if he should have stayed. Anan even re-weighed his options in his head a couple more times. Why should I stay if there is a better home for me elsewhere? he thought, letting out another huge sigh. His eyes illuminated every pothole in the asphalt as he surveyed his surroundings once more. Every tiny cricket chirp seemed to make him jump three feet high. Something in the back of his mind constantly warned him of danger even when he was perfectly safe. The thick pine forest on either side of the road loomed above him like a pack of nightmarish creatures about to pounce.
But one of the worst things was all of the roadkill. Just about every 30 feet or so, there was another unfortunate animal, or some other evidence of a recent death. The images of their carcasses danced in his head, driving him crazy. He hated roadkill. Just then, he let out a huge yawn. It was just about time to settle down for the night. He found a suitable patch of long grass behind an overgrown bush and eagerly dumped his heavy backpack onto the ground. He looked around, finding that everything was ominously silent. Too tired to care, he flopped down onto the grass and fell into a deep, uneasy sleep.

Black. Everything was black. Black ink dripped from the walls of his old house, wrapping his sister in cold, merciless arms. He cried out, but his mouth made no sound. In his mind he cried out for his sister, the only thing he cared about. She was all that mattered. The ink became an army of giant wolves made of obsidian. They placed him behind a thick pane of glass and forced him to watch. He could not breath. The glass became tighter and tighter with every strained movement he made. They dragged his little sister away while she sobbed and cried for him. “Anan, Anan, I need you!” Her cries rang in his ears as she gasped her final dying breaths. “You did this!” they accused him, glaring. He denied it over and over, horrified. But somewhere deep down, he knew there was a grain of truth in their words.

Anan sprung to his feet, gasping for breath. This same nightmare had haunted him every night since his sister’s death. The first light of dawn was already creeping over the horizon. He shook out his fur, breathing deeply to calm himself. His backpack went back over his shoulders, and he ate a handful of mashed blackberries to quench his ever-growing thirst and hunger. Then, he set off once more down the endless stretch of highway.

Twelve miles and two handfuls of blackberries later, he finally reached a sign. It told him that he would reach the nearest town if he traveled for three more miles. This excellent news put a new spring in his step as he continued his journey down the road, listening to the cheerful sound of the birds singing in the trees. He passed the time by counting cracks in the road and seeing how many different types of wildflowers he could identify.

Finally, he reached the town of Rensdale. A weathered, hand-painted wooden sign welcomed him as he entered the town. Looking around, he noticed that it was mostly made up of run-down cabins and a small general store. He nodded approvingly. This would be a perfect place for me. This is the kind of place where no one ever comes and goes he thought. He scurried up to the first door and knocked. A weathered man open the door. “What do ya want, kid?” he asked, chewing on a sprig of wheat. Anan told him that he was looking for a place to live, a place where no one would come looking for him. The man looked at him, and came to the conclusion that Anan should have a place to stay. The next day, he was given a small shack at the edge of town.

Anan paced the worn wooden floor, gazing at the tiny pine wood table and the plain straw bed that had come with the house. The previous night he had tried to sleep here, but the straw poking into his back had aggravated him greatly. He wondered if this was really where he was destined to end up. With a sad smile, he remembered something his mother used to say. “Home is where the heart is.” Where is my heart now? he wondered, stopping to gazed out at the small pond beneath his window. Then he remembered his sister and how she loved the forest.

“My heart is with you, dear sister.”
